  1. Driving home listening to my favourite station Planet Rock the DJ Darren ?? mentions interesting fact about the bass line in Living on a Prayer ! He makes reference to bass chat forums and I thought maybe he is a regular on here ? Hi if he is and keep up the great work
  2. Orange Little Bass Thing is whisper quiet in the fan noise department Mine is up for sale if interested
  3. Decided to hang on to my RM800 to use as backup with the new ABM600 So up for sale is my ORANGE Little Bass Thing 500w head instead
  4. There’s a near new nice RM800 EVO II in the for sale section here .. whisper quiet fan 😉
  5. I’m now using the Line 6 G30 system Purchased the Levy pouch to go on strap Very good system albeit plastic battery door etc has been reported as poor, fine if you use a pouch
  6. They are very similar to be fair so it was a tough choice. If money was no object I would keep both !
  7. Decided to buy a new ABM600 EVO IV ( my second one ) last night so my RM800 EVO II is up for sale on here. It’s like new as it was purchased early new this year and comes with the padded Rootmaster gig bag As we all know the RM800 is a great amp but I can’t justify having three amps so it must go to a new home.
  8. Sale Closed Decided to keep it
  9. Avoid the Ampeg PF500 as I found mine under powered compared to other 500w heads. Its a shame you didn’t like the RM as that is a great choice for what you described and you wouldn’t like the Orange Little Bass Thing 500w as that doesn’t have aux in but it does sound bloody amazing !
  10. Just watched on Sky Arts and the BBC Four The Shadows bassist playing with a pick, then The Kinks bassist playing with a pick and Cream Jack Bruce playing with a pick As a convert to playing 99% of the time with a pick it made me wonder if those early rock or pop bassists considered fingers or pick for sound or technique/ speed or both maybe
  11. I found the Nylon picks too soft / warm sounding which is great if you like that sound Liking tortex mostly now
  12. I would look for one of the older Ampeg Combos BA110 There is also the smaller BA108 They really sound nice home amps and my BA110 is loud enough for a small jam without a drummer of course Has aux inputs for jamming along to phone tracks etc And it actually sounds like an Ampeg !
  13. Nice pedal
  14. I might be looking to move on two sets of Schaller S Locks in Chrome Fitted but removed off two guitars that are now sold virtually like new in boxes
  15. I’ve fitted the new design to both my basses and the Schaller screws were larger than the original screws supplied with the bass. I like the new design but you really need to tighten the knurled nut with the through holes and when very tight lock with small grub screw. The part on the bass is very tight and a good fit so I’m happy they work very well. The older design seems to fit the new design pegs too
  16. Ok Ashdown owners .. are you using your compressor on the amp on your RM series and what do you think of it ? Where do you have it set and why ?
  17. Sorry you are right .. my mistake
  18. Orange Little Bass Thing has a decent compressor built in My RM800 EVO II has one as well
  19. At rehearsals last night I was trying different picks out Clayton Black Raven Jim Dunlop Tortex Green 0.88 Triangle as above but Yellow 0.73 The first results were the Raven is a warmer darker sounding pick and closer to finger playing. The JD Yellow Triangle was very bright and clear but a little flimsy for faster rock songs The winner is … The 0.88 was bright and clear but good for faster rock songs and was the winner for a perfect pick Ordered some more today Have a load of other picks that are no longer needed !
  20. And in truth the drivers ( some better than others ) are under huge pressure to deliver a growing quantity of goods with heavy deadlines to achieve with very average to low wages. We have all had delivery issues but on the whole they do a pretty decent job mostly
  21. Yep DPD one of the best and that’s why most good shops use them. Timed collection or delivery notifications and they are very near to those times always Better to pay DPD rates in my opinion for valuable items
  22. and 10% may just about cover return postage !
  23. Personally on a low to mid priced bass I would sell and move on Perhaps look at Yamaha or Sterling Sub as a similar priced bass and decent too. My personal fav is MIM Player Series PBass ( perfect bass for me )
  24. They are nice cabs the Pro Neo They sound better the more I use mine I net a couple of 15’s would also sound really good
