  1. I can get this tone on my PBass especially if using a Dimarzio pup and playing a pick.
  2. If it had been 13 holes I would of had it Player Series PBass ( mex )
  3. I always think Ashdown rate their amps well so at 300w it would be fine with a band I can use my TE Elf ( 200w) with the band ( normally use ABM600 or CTM100 and 200w is ample The cabs help
  4. I hadn’t considered that 🙄🥱 If stores had the stock and the selection I would of done that but neither is the case in most cases hence asking
  5. Recently purchased new set of Fender CS62 PBass pickups As new condition and wires same length as supplied new SOLD
  6. Ok so the CS62 pups sound absolutely gorgeous and an improvement over the Player Series stock in clarity however ….. Im going to take them out and stick Dimarzio PBass back in ( both of my basses ) as they have a very rocky tone played through the CTM100 They punch through better in the band and offer a rougher nasty growl great for rock with a valve amp. Granted they need to be tamed and the pole pieces lowered as it’s a mega hot pickup but it brings out the tone, less low end more mids and growl a plenty For less rockier needs the CS62 would be a perfect fit.
  7. Well … that was a discovery!! The Custom Shop 62 pickup was very nice but … I missed the mids and grunt that the Dimarzio PBass gave me. Im going to put Dimarzio in both my Player Series as I think they work well Will be selling the CS 62 pickup soon
  8. Question about Jazz basses .. do they have noisy pickups compared to a PBass ??
  9. Ok I really like PBass for rock and I’m always looking at alternatives but don’t know where to start I tried a Stingray ( Sterling ) and I just didn’t like the sound although for years before I gigged a EB Stingray with my SVT rig and loved it ! So suggest a bass ( circa £1000 max) that is great for rock that isn’t a PBass or a Stingray Ive never tried a Jazz bass with the band so I’m undecided about that as an option
  10. I’m mostly the same preferring the all valve tone however .. Putting a compressor in front of my CTM100 was a good move. Im still not sure about the TC Spark Booster in front as the amp has enough natural grit
  11. Mine came from Northwest Guitars via EBay if I recall ? A perfect fit https://www.northwestguitars.co.uk/p-bass-compatible-scratchplates/
  12. Any tone suck when pedals off ?
  13. I had that cab with a LM3 head and it worked well
  14. It’s so light you have to careful not to yank it off the speaker cab !!
  15. The OC-2 is now very collectible I hear .. supposedly better than the OC-3

    Polytune 3

Just purchased this tuner and I’m very impressed Had Korg and TU3 before but the Polytune 3 is nicer I like the power out link which I will take to my Keeley compressor Very nice 👍 It seems to track and tune faster than others and and the new “always on” feature with mute is a nice touch
  17. I’ve let this pickup go and swopped it for the CS62 which sounds less growly with lower output but a smoother clearer bottom end
  18. I’ve used mine as a back up amp and it will keep up with a loud band with decent speakers etc Very nice sounding amp too
  19. Fitted the CS 62 and they are very nice sounding pickups Where I hear an improvement is the clarity of the low end and a less harsh tone It’s got less output than say a Dimarzio PBass which isn’t a problem but I think it’s a noticeable upgrade to Player Series stock pups I like the copper shield base that comes with them too Definitely recommend for all genres
  20. Thank you They will be fitted today so I will see how they sound As a returning finger player I need the low mids so I think they will be fine
  21. They are definitely a louder pickup but set correctly with adjustable poles they can be tamed yet still give a mid forward grunt
