1. So would Helium balloons at the headstock!
2. No recommendations, but there's lots of info on the Watford Valves site, and they're very helpful and informative on the phone, too.
3. Surely weight reduction chambers in the body is going to encourage neck dive, especially on an SG shape... unless you intend to fill one of the chambers with lead?

8. It's a valve amp, first thing to do is clean the valve contacts, and then swap similar valves around to see if the noise changes. This will sort out a huge proportion of valve amp troubles by fixing it, or showing up a defective valve.

13. DIY relicing! Surely this is all part of the 'charm' of a relic... the odd bump'n'scratch doesn't matter. Now if this had been a new bass. Ah.
14.
Tried one today in guitar guitar but just a quick pick up and noodle - not through an amp. I'm back over next Friday to collect some repaired gear so might try it out then and hear what its got.
It'll be gone by then!
15. The owner of COL1N isn't short of a bob or two...
16. ...and here was I, just about to tell you what a great guy Tom is to deal with and exactly how happy I am with the G&L JB-2 wot he sold me, and you've gone and bought it. Ho-hum. NB: Be prepared for a great deal of bubble-wrap and sellotape.
17. Uh oh... looks like you'll be starting a club and giving out numbers soon!
18. That SG is stunning. I'm looking forward to following this build.
