I haven't used the paradriver, but have a bass driver and love it. It does have a distinctive scoop to it, and if you run it before an amp with the blend over 50%, the BDDI tends to take over the tone a bit... However, I find it dead useful - although I have lots of mids in my sound when it's not on, I quite like the scooped sound for a valve grind type of sound, and I also use it for a treble boost when the blend knob is turned to zero. The drive is a little wooly, but it seems to be voiced in the 'lofi' ampeg-style way, which I must admit I'm pretty fond of. But the great thing about both of them is their usefulness; the BDDI is fantastic to use for recording - normally all it needs is a little bit of compression in the mix, and it's amazing to turn up at a gig where you're using someone else's rig, knowing that the DI sounds great out front.

Cool, I know absolutely nothing about these basses, except that they're very pretty.

Pair of Eltax floorstanders, about 7 years old. Excellent condition, great sound. 100 watt RMS, 150 watt max, rear ported and bi-wirable. I'd love to keep them, but unfortunately they don't fit in my new living room! Looking for £60, or trade for a nice pair of bookshelf speakers. Buyer collects (due to size), or I can deliver if you're close to Leeds, and cover my petrol costs. Would've done better with a nice modern active bass.
*Tries to bite tongue* I'll be absolutely wasted at the next gig I play, but it'll be fine, there's a 9V battery in my bass. -
This seems to be a bargain - I would have bought it if it was black. Dimarzio P Bass pickup

Loose tuner bushes

I'm glad that Fender take a 'Heath Robinson' approach, that definitely bodes well with me. I can just picture Leo Fender in the 1950's, taking a step back from a problem in the workshop, scratching his head, and then reaching for a roll of gaffa tape. -
Loose tuner bushes

Ah... both excellent ideas, thank you very much! -
I'm currently working on a precision project, and I have some spare tuners which I'm going to put on the bass. However, when I put the bushes into the holes cut for them, they are loose and fall out if the neck is turned over. Any ideas of how to get them to stay in? Is it ok to use a bit of glue?
Got a twin pickup passive bass, separate volume and tone pots for each pickup. Bridge tone pot works fine, neck tone pot does nothing. Is the problem more likely to be the pot itself, or the way it's wired to the pickup?
Chances are it's just come un-soldered; probably the capacitor on the back of it.

He probably needs the money for his electric meter... I know he wants to show off the LEDs, but come on, they have to be the darkest photos ever taken -
Brilliant company. I once rang up to order strings, but they didn't have them in stock... Doesn't matter to them, they just took the B out of a 5 string set and sent me them!

No more Neo's...back to the heavyweights!

I'm really glad to hear you're enjoying it! Yeah, it really has got an impressive tone that one, and the neck... yum I used to have a Streamer Jazzman 5, and the neck on that was terrible; so damn thick, it was like a tree trunk! I think they changed the neck profile around 2000, and I haven't really enjoyed playing one after that date as much as the Vette. It does seem like a heavy bass though, I used to use a comfort strap, but after a few hours of practice, my shoulder would be absolutely paggered... But on reflection, I don't think it's much heavier than the jazz you sent my way, it's just the way the weight is distributed; the long, 'engorged' upper horn of the Vette balances it perfectly, but also puts a strain on your shoulder! As for the Jazz... I absolutely adore it. I haven't been able to put it down. It was exactly what I was looking for, and my tone is now so close to the one that's in my head! I must admit, I do kind of miss the active EQ, but then again, I don't; I quite like the restrictiveness - I could never seem to dial in a tone and stick with it, probably due to my OCD, and it's good that I don't have to remember spare batteries! Of course, harmonics don't ring out as easily and strong, but the way the bottom end fills out a band... hell, it's incredible. And on the harmonics... it was good enough for Jaco, must be my poor techinque! I have made a little mod though; put in a series parallel switch on the volume pot, and over Christmas I'm swapping the pickups for Dimarzios, and the tuners for Hipshots. I love the Kent Armstrong pups, but I just want some humcancelling ones, and the tuners are great, but I've been spoilt by the Warwick high ratio ones! The Hipshots are 1:27, so I should be more at home with those. I'm glad to find another Eden fan, but it's harsh that you had problems with your amp; I've had a WT-600 for a few years now, and (touch wood) it's never let me down... However, it is overdue on a service... They always go on about their stuff being hard-wearing, maybe you just got unlucky. -

It's just legal lease, but it's not right to white it out... (By the way, I don't speak German, but google does) -

Cool, cheers Balcro. Yeah, I realised Warwick owned Framus, but I thought that they only made guitars nowadays... -
