OK so i only got this full bass recently, and i do like it, however I'm a 'jazz' man at hearrt, and ive just got hold of a really nice jazz body. The upshot is - I really like the neck on the CV P so i'm prepared to split it and sell off the body so i can use the neck for the jazz project, plus ive just been told my rear wheel bearings are shot on my motor so need to find some funds from somewhere! the bosy itself is in very good condition, only issue is a very small indentation on the back of the body but its not horid or through to the wood, and obviously in no way affects the playability of the body It comes with stanadrd hardware, bridge cover and a bonus - a SD qtr pounder pup!!! I'd be looking for £100 posted if theres any interest? At a push i could sell the whole bass and hold out for a squire CV jazz neck to use on my project instead can take pics asap, feel free to pm with any questions. PS theres a pic of the bass on the 'porn' section somewhere if you look for it [attachment=102628:DSCF9522.JPG]

mojobass replied to mojobass's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
I msged him too to tell him what it was (wasn't) he said 'ive changed the listing to reflect this' oh well at least no-one on here will be getting ripped off! -
ive only just recently got hold of a secondhand CV P (the sonic blue version) and i have to say i was/am very impressed! the neck o it is LUSH! really good/nice fretwork, very good finish quality in general. I'd definately buy another one, well worth the cash (especially secondhand)

Its a 'Vintage' brand jazz with a badly sanded logo and dodgy 'Tokai' applied in its place!! some poor sod will get duped if not careful!

OK so this is a really hard thing for me to do but I'd relly love to get Alex's kingbass thats on here right now and the only conceiveable way to do it is to sell my S2! Its a beauty, yeh the colour may not be to everyone's taste but TBH its not that bad in real life! I bought it because i wanted an S2 so was prepared to compromise! Its a bolt on S2, excellent condition bar one VERY small ding on the lower edge of the body (which ive tried to photograph) all chrome hardware is in excellent condition, hardly any signs of play wear, great tone, really low action. comes with strap locks and original status hiscox hard case (which is also in excellent condition Hoping for £1000 (incl delivery) and i'd need it realistically if i am to secure the KB! obvioulsy if the KB sells in the meantime i'll be withdrawing this! pics: [attachment=101775:DSCF9524.JPG] [attachment=101776:DSCF9525.JPG] [attachment=101777:DSCF9526.JPG] [attachment=101778:DSCF9527.JPG] [attachment=101779:DSCF9528.JPG] [attachment=101780:DSCF9529.JPG] [attachment=101781:DSCF9530.JPG]

I'm looking at chnaging the stock wiring in a coulpe of basses and quite like the look of these kits but thought i'd see if anyone has any input before buying!??

Controlling two pickups with two knobs
mojobass replied to The Dark Lord's topic in Repairs and Technical
you could use a 60's jazz wiring harness - twin knobs, stacked vol/tone for each? -
recentky bought a Stagg brand gig bag for my aria acoustic bass. decent quality - not heavy padding but its a cheap acoustic so not bothered! ayhow, when i sat the bass in it the bag wasnt long enough! the tip of the headstock stuck out by abot 4cm! oh well it'll do i thought. then, i aquired another acoustic bass gig bag which is a perfect fit so i had the stagg one spare, i was gongto just bin it or stick it in the loft but it transpires that my two new aquisitions (both precision size) fit in erfectly one on top of the other! I know theyll eventually get battle scars from resting against each other but heck theyre basses and meant to be like that!! but otherwise its proved a cheap alternative to buying a dedicated 'twin bass' gig bag!

well ive just received a CV precision and i have to say - YES they are!! I am very impressed with the build quality, attention to detail etc and for the price i think theyre a steal!

my project jazz - mahogany body with spalted maple top, status graphite jazz neck, MEC pups, carvin preamp, babicz bridge Looks cool, plays great and sounds awesome!! [attachment=101454:DSCF9192.JPG] [attachment=101455:DSCF9200.JPG] [attachment=101456:DSCF9201.JPG] [attachment=101457:DSCF9203.JPG]

Well i just couldn't resist!! I'd managed to sell off some gear and some spare 'play' money, saw this for a reasonable price and thought...why not!!! I'm pleased I did! Arrived this morning, already had a fresh set oflats on it (so saved me a few quid there) had a high action so spent a few minutes adjusting and setting it up, with the result being a nice LOW action. Also as a nother bonus it came with a SD qtr pounder pup so no need for a pup change! Plugged it in and it sounds really nice! versatile enough range of tones for me! the neck is LUSH I can't believe this is a squier!!! Ive heard about the necks on these and was sceptical but honestly a really gtreat neck!! Few hours noodling on it and its coming gigging with me this weekend!! will give it a gud workout then here's a pic, and another of it with my 'modern player' tele bass! nice job there! I've often fancied one of these standards due to the lush wenge necks! and also to compare against my fortress! bet it sounds even nicer now!
-
I want one!!
-
hmmm no idea TBH will investigate!

problem has temporarily been addressed!!! Ive retro fitted an old fender standard bridge i had lying in my parts drawer and the string spacing appears to be 'slightly' narrower so the strings now 'just' align up with the outside edge of the pole pieces on the 'E' and 'G' strings!!!! sounds better but will give it a gig tomorrow night and see how it plays!!
