1. Pablo had a problem with one of his favourite pedals - a short journey along the coast later - he arrived, pedal in hand It was a pleasure meeting him & I'm pleased to say his deep impact is fully functioning again Top bloke, kept me entertained with some great chops on a couple of my Fenders whilst his pedal was undergoing surgery. Great to meet another basschatter Cheerz, John
2. Sorted it was a pleasure meeting Pablo today & his pedal is 'making all sorts of horrible noises' once again Cheerz, John

6.
Its internal wall. Room gets cold and damp but all my gear is there without probs. Maybe the strings ...they are quite heavy but have been on for a while.
There's your problem more than anything else!
7. It might even help if you put a WANTED - GENE SIMMONS 'AXE BASS' in the Items Wanted forum ^ & yes what tractor said ^
8. I think the seller needs a reality check - after 24 bids your's was the highest - so how does he get "it's worth more", that's the winning bid, that's how ebay works. I'd be aggravated, (as a buyer).
9. That one's definitely for the offing
10.
If that's professional restoration then I'm a Dutchman. Which I'm not.
I just knew you'd be along soon
11. I think it needs a bit more Tippex http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Epiphone-Jack-Casady-Bass-LIMITED-EDITION-WHITE-new-slight-repair-/181468133218?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item2a4057f762
12. "Raised D string pickup " Started by cameltoe, Yesterday, 05:22 PM Looks like the raised poles are on the G string to me
13.
And remember that the calorific value of your pie and chips can go down as well as up.
Fixed
14.
Old valve amps always needed a load. ALWAYS. Never really understood why but so hard to repair back then... so utmost care was taken with loads and impedances.
Aah! Those old valve amps always have a cab plugged in & usually a pie in a foil tray & chips wrapped in newspaper on top, over the vents to keep nice & hot for after the gig. Never stand your beer on top though - can't stand warm beer although it's always handy to have a pint or 2 closeby in case the newspaper catches light Usual disclaimers apply, please don't try this at home, your home may be at risk etc.etc.
15. Wrong - IIRC - you don't have a Koi pond
16. You know what you should have done - don't you Mark
17. ^good job^
18. No, looks el-CHEAPO
19. At least he/she didn't scratch it into the lovely wood - it looks like just bits of tape stuck on. Apart from that it's got a sort of Wal look to it don't you think?
20. Al got in touch after a bit of an accident had put some of his controls out of order! We discussed the options by PM & soon sorted a kit for him. Excellent communications & instant payment, Al's a great guy to deal with, no hesitation in recommending him to one & all. Cheerz, John

Nick got in touch for a P-bass wiring kit to give his old P an upgrade, great communications & instant payment, a real pleasure to talk to & deal with. Cheerz, John
22. Yes, this weeks star prize goes to Ghost Bass - https://www.dropbox.com/s/2opubr7rchzasas/2014-07-16%2013.50.07.jpg
23. My AV '62 RI P-bass is wearing GHS Precision Flats 55-105, fitted/changed from the Fender rounds when new. Any changes to truss rod were minimal from factory settings & I don't remember having to change it since, for about 3 or 4 years. IMHO - if you want to change strings at all - you're going to have to gain confidence in setting up, it'll pay huge benefits in the long run, getting the action & playability exactly how it suits you - without the bills! There are hundreds of youtube set up videos, not to mention our very own Basschat Repair & Technical content http://basschat.co.uk/forum/12-repairs-and-technical/ Cheerz, John
24.
AHA! I've found one! Sadly it's not really my style aesthetically, but i've found one bass that's only routed for a j bridge p/up
I bet it's got a P-pup route under the pick-guard
25. If you have a standard Jazz, how about a custom scratch plate with no middle pick up cut-out, maybe a 1 piece incorporating the control plate with just the one hole for volume & one for Jack socket?
