  1. Must listen to some more Clutch. Met them around the time of The Jam Room - such lovely people.
  2. Actually that's a bit of a problem as it wasn't so much about individual tracks with Last. His big success was with albums such as Non-Stop Dancing, and a whole James Last 'A Go-Go' series. Happy Heart was the only single of note.
  3. Must give these a go - hoping someone will do a non Neo Prog suggestion, one Genre I've never really explored and really should (especially as I was once big into Jazz-Rock).
  4. Just the tiniest bit disappointed that James Last didn't make the cut!
  5. Will check these out later. Can always expect something a little Off Piste from you Mr Smalls - thanks.
  6. OK, I know that genres are a flawed concept, and that top 3s chop and change, but just for fun, and to possibly broaden my (and hopefully others) musical horizons, give me a Genre you love and 3 tracks that represent it. Feel free to duplicate other people's suggestions.
  7. Nail on head. It is the Rock & Roll Hall of FAME, not artistic merit, musical accomplishment, talent etc.
  8. It was very much 'of it's time' and yes, possibly suffered from over exposure, but I'm going to stand up and face ridicule from the BC community and not care - I Wanna Know What Love Is was an incredible song. Loved it then, still happy to hear it now. Be gentle...
  9. Cher has a pretty extensive and credible (even if now unfashionable) history way before the autotune malarkey.
  10. Fair enough, but looks like the OP's comment on the sound quality (as opposed to volume) was through the line out. @WrexhamBassist I'd seriously suggest trying a second Rumble 12. They do turn up fairly regularly and will be a relatively budget conscious first step to sorting this problem.
  11. This. I had two. Certainly not the source of any muddiness. Would have still had them apart from a rare pair of Purple Chili cabs came up on here.
  12. As @BigRedX says. Freddie Green - perhaps the greatest Jazz rhythm guitarist of all time mainly played on 4 strings.
  13. I just Googled that number to make sure you hadn't made it up - so serendipitous!
  14. Shouldn't this have been posted in the Playing in Church thread 😎
  15. I was wondering which rock bands King James was listening to back then.
  16. Something that survey shows is that US likes music overall more than UK. My observation on this, having been in record company telesales for 4 years in the early 80s, is that the UK's music tastes were highly polarised back then. Dance music was king all across the home counties, and across the south in general. From Luton upwards we couldn't sell dance music for love nor money except in a few larger cities. Even then there was a split in BPM, with northern cities preferring up tempo tracks, and south going for slower stuff. Midlands and North East was great for selling all types of rock.
  17. Congrats on the review, but where can we hear this funky liquid?
  18. @Baloney BalderdashPiccolo means small so you're OK on that one not being an oxymoron. Had you said soprano then the grammar police would certainly have you bang to rights.
  19. I heard some clips of one of the Premiums with Nordstrand Big Singles in. Sounded so good I really wanted one, but I don't like open pore necks.
  20. I have a very good friend who I only see once in about every three years due to his incredibly busy schedule. He has three very high level jobs as a pro drummer and MD. One get together was near to Christmas, and when we talked about what we were doing there was some genuine sadness and regret that he doesn't have his own family. His level of touring just wasn't compatible with a steady relationship.
  21. Have you checked the tutor section in the Basschat Marketplace?
