2.
Whoops, replied to the wrong thread - these tuners were the ones I was interested in!
Apologies, I need to correct the original ad as the standard tuners were sold.
 3.
I may well be interested in the hipshot tuners, if you're interested in putting the original ones back on for the sale. PM me if so, no problems if not!
Sorry, I sold the original tuners on
 4.
Very nice! I remember Bernie using guitars made by Sid (aka 'Les') Poole for many years. Is this a new model?
Ah yes, the Poole guitars. Very nice they were too! I think the PRS has been around a couple of years now, and has been a great success. Bernie uses stock models live.
 5. Hi all FLATWOUND GHS Precision Flats - cut for P bass - 45/65/85/105 - fraying silks but strings just nicely broken in - £22 posted All strings posted 2nd Class Recorded Delivery. Thanks Gareth
 6. PRS Bernie Marsden Signature Model
 7.
You love having a pair don't you! Bump for a loverly bass and a sound guy!
Thanks Dan, much appreciated. How's the TF going?
 8. No problem Richard, these things happen. I hope you get it all sorted quickly (and cheaply)!
 9.
In the unlikely event it doesn't pan out, put me in the queue please Gareth. Good luck though.
Will do Karl, cheers Oh and remember I have the same finish in fretless, so you could always do a neck swap
 10. On hold pending a viewing next Saturday.
 11.
Back to five strings eh Gareth? I still have the Flyer and it's very much for sale :-) Phil PS. And the Precision is gorgeous, so yes, I'd consider a trade.
Hi Phil Thanks for the message. While the Flyer is lovely it's lined, so not for me I'm afraid!
 12. Beautiful bass. I'd buy if it was unlined
 13.
Two things: 1 - How come every time a see a bass of yours it's breathtakingly gorgeous? 2 - Purely being nosey here, but the tasteful side dots we see there; are they on the "fret lines" or in the centre of the spacings? Good luck with the sale.
What can I say, I have impeccable taste! Dots are on the fret point.
 14. A "decided to move back to 5 strings" bump
 15. Hello all £625 I've decided to move back to 5 strings, so this wonderful honeyburst American Special is up for sale. The standard spec is as follows: Body Material: Two-piece alder Body Finish: Hand rubbed stain with a satin nitro lacquer top coat Neck: Maple, Slim "C" Shape Neck Finish: Satin Urethane Fretboard Radius: 9.5" (24.1 cm) Scale Length: 34" (86.36 cm) Nut Width: 1.625" (41.3 mm) String Nut: Synthetic Bone Pickup: American Standard Precision Bass® Alnico Split Single-Coil Bridge: Standard Vintage 4 Saddle Bass Pickguard: 3-Ply Parchment I sent the neck away to the guys at Brook Guitars down in Devon and they did the most amazing job of converting the neck to an unlined fretless ebony board. They even managed to keep the original nut! It plays beautifully, and the unlined board is a dream - it's quite thick (7mm deep at the centre, 5mm at the sides), so the sustain is amazing. I've added a genuine Fender black scratchplate and tugbar, and upgraded to Hisphot tuners. Weight is 8.5lbs, balance is perfect. The bass has some bumps and scrapes to the body, but nothing major. Due to the upgrades, I am asking £625 firm for this beauty, including a very nice basic gig, collected from NE Hampshire. Happy to post at your expense (about £15). I'd be happy to trade for a 5 string ACG fretted in Krell or Recurve body shape.
 16.
Yes it must have given a pretty unique tone based on where it sits... not quite as burpy but with more fundamental than a solo'd bridge pup I would imagine? Isn't that where the pick up was on the pro1 and pro1e?
Pro 1 pickups were a lot more "P" position than that bass. I think your description of the tone is a good one though.
 17.
Have you played one with the pickup in that position?
I have, as that bass was mine! It actually sounded really good, and ergonomically was very comfortable to play, but I can't for the life of me remember how the control knobs were configured, given it was a 1 pickup bass !!! I sold it to a guy in Italy. Never seen another like it. Cheers Gareth PS Trev, belated welcome to Basschat!
 18.
I like singlecuts, but the Ken Smith is 'meh'
+1 I'm afraid, and I like Smith basses a lot
 19. Wow, wow, wow and wow I shouldn't ask how heavy the 78 is, but I will....
 20. How does this compare to the Tonehammer? Is it super crisp and clean?
 21. Does it have a case? What's the weight and balance like?
 22.
Are you getting another 100 or something else?
Just a humble CTM30 Mert, but I've always loved the Drophead and would have pushed the boat out a bit more for it!
 23. If I hadn't ordered a CTM from Ashdown a few weeks back I would have bought this when it first appeared
 24. I bought a speaker lead from John. He emailed me a picture to check it was what I wanted (it was) and it arrived the day after I paid for it. Excellent
