1. Yup that looks like what I'm after. Burnham on sea is a little further west, but he may very well pass nearby on his way. I'm abroad on tour at the mo, but back next week. Are you prepared to wait that long for arrangements to be made? John
2. Ok, swap didn't happen, so this is still here.
3. Very interested in this, looking forward to seeing pics. Where in the uk are you?
4.
I am in the same situation but need a P neck if you fancy swapping either necks or even basses as i quite like natural? I have a really nice Mighty might Jazz neck with 70's Precision logo on a P body, Fender Jap elecs with cream vintage PU covers & a funky capacitor inside to give vintage tones - not sure on the body, possibly Squire but its a relic'd sunburst-very cool and 70's looking. Anyhow i prefer P necks so could swap either necks or the whole bass if your interested?
Sounds cool Rasta. Probably more interested in a whole bass swap, in case the neck doesn't quite fit. Chuck some piccies up? Or PM me and I'll give you an email address to send some pics to. John
5. Bump for a trade on any of the following: P bass special SB-2 Tribby Jazz bass This is an exceptionally nice bass, if you like P necks, I think you'll like this.
6. Got a nice Epifani cab from Al. Nice price, nice cab, nice transaction, nice delivery...........nice. Deal with confidence people. John.
7.
I might be interested in the Fostex, but not the sequencer - might you split? G.
Hi G, I guess I could. £50 posted. Cheers, John

9.
Let me know if you still have the Bass Trunk. Thanks
He does, but I'm hopefully picking it up this week though.
10. John bought an upright bass from me. Nice bloke, makes a great cuppa tea and plays proper basses!! Thanks, John
11. Trades only for a slimmer necked P (P Special?), or Tribute SB-2
12. Oh my! I do admire Alan's work. My birthday next week, I wonder if I'll be PM'ing you on Tuesday morning! John
13. THIS HAS NOW GONE Prosebass headless 4 string offered as a trade for a 5 string. It was made to my specification by Paul Rose of Prosebass, for a tour I have just finished. Headless 4 string, natural Spanish Cedar, Maple neck, Rosewood board, passive 2 mini buckers. Lightweight, but good mass to the body. ABM hardware. The pickups produce a surprising amount of volume and the configuration is 2 volume pots, with coil tap, but no tone control. I have found this offered me plenty of tonal variation. 34" scale, 53mm bridge spacing, dual action truss rod. Just over 3kg weight. This is my only electric gig. I end up in interesting places in the world, and get taken care of very well, so am happy to keep the gig. However, the artist has changed keys of many songs for this last tour and decided she wanted notes below E, so I ended up detuning this for the 10 dates. I can't afford a 5 string as an extra bass, so this is offered up as a trade or sale. If I had to sell, then I'd want £500 for it. Please feel free to have a try, I'm in Dorset. Will drive for a meet as far as Bournemouth, Bristol, Exeter(ish), Basingstoke(ish) Any questions, please feel free to PM, or call me. Number through PM. John
14. On the basis that if a bass hangs on my wall and isn't used, then it is surplus. I am offering this BB605 in wine red. Good condition, good all rounder and typical solid Yamaha build. I've been playing the 4 string version for 7 years now, so bought the 5'er. These are highly rated amongst the Yamaha lovers, but otherwise go a little "under the radar". £180 posted, firm. I am in Dorset, for a try out, or will post well packed in gig bag and a box.
15.
I wish I could justify spending the money, this looks like a sweet machine. Anyhow, you might want to edit the thread title for the new price?
Indeed, thanks for pointing that out. John
16. Last [s]hump[/s] bump before withdrawing (oo-er!!) £300 collected, or + pp.
17.
Is this bass being used structurally... In photo 5 it appears it's doubling (see what I did there) as an acro jack?
Basically, when this goes to Deaver, my porch collapses!
18. How'd you get on with this Clarky? I've just recorded with it and the engineer loved it. He was resistant at first, preferring 2 mics, but he ended up mixing both. John
19. Yes, sorry guys. Posted in too many threads, will update accordingly. john
20.
Ah well fair's fair, I'm sure I can shift a case.
sounded like a good plan, but then zach offered his case and he's only 45mins away. I'm sure you'll shift a case no probs. John
21.
SRSLY?
Totally! I was laughing very hard at that point.....childish I know, but it was quite sweet really, no hint of irony?? Anyway, I did enjoy the programme. Jive talking was a great tune and I was fascinated by the bass line at the time.
22. I will soon be down to just one double bass and no EUBs. What I have left is not spectacular, but it's a 40 year old ply that sounds great to my neanderthal ears and it is transported in it's original cover. I would like to give it a bit more protection, so had thought about getting one of the gear4music foam cases that come up now and again Ebay, but they are very rarely over this way (South West). Also, I don't seem to be able to locate a supplier of hard cases that aren't £600 flightcases. So the question is, has anyone got a case they'd be happy to sell me, or do you have advice on what else I should consider. I notice that many retailers sell gig bags that seem a lot of money, but do they offer protection? As this should probably be in the wanted section, I will post there too. Thanks for any help, or comments, you can offer. John
