    We did this in a previous band I was in, but our female lead singer subtly rewrote the lyrics so the message was more of a 'you don't have to be a good girl, you don't have to do anything you don't want, and if he doesn't like it tell him to feck off'. I don't know if the punters noticed ,but once she'd done that I was quite happy to play it!

Also, Concorde 002 made its maiden flight on my birthday so perhaps I could include that on the list?

    Watched a set by Sophie Ellis-Bextor at Bath's Pub in the Park yesterday. At first I thought she might be lip-syncing, but it turns out she's just very good. Her band were on fire too. They did an excellent version of Madonna's 'Like A Prayer' and the bassist (her husband I think? She called him Richard at one point, seems like a coincidence) absolutely nailed Guy Pratt's sublime octaved part on the original.

      I think much of her band is/was made up of members of The Feeling, if not all of them.

    It's a party/picnic in the park thing, everyone is sat on the grass. it's a decent size crowd and they're going down very well.

    We kinda take the pss out of the whole thing. Our frontman does something like this: "This is our last song... [Disappointed noises from audience] oh come on, how many gigs have you been to? You know how this works; we finish this song, walk off, cram ourselves into the tiny little area backstage, you yell for more, we come back and do another couple. So yes, this is our errm last song..."

    I too have no real problem with 'mojo' as long as it's not woefully misused. Its slang definition seems to loosely fit. (slang) Personal magnetism; charm. ... Mojo is defined as good luck, charm or skill that seems to come from something magical or supernatural. An example of mojo is the ability of a man to attract beautiful women.

    When I was growing up, a lad I knew used to swear that 'cliff' was pronounced 'clift'. The white clifts of Dover, etc. Even when the lack of a T was pointed out to him, he still maintained he was right. At the time I thought maybe he was dyslexic, but with hindsight I've realised that he was just a dim and argumentative bellend who needed a slap.
