  3. You are Dave Swift and I claim my five pounds.
  4. @GuyRhas this gone?
  5. 36, Rich West How come my silhouette makes me look like a huge massive fat bastid? Correction, a huger massiver fatter bastid?
  6. Aww you know we luvs ya Dave
  7. Fantastic, congrats to all. I know the feeling, I played at my son's wedding last week.
  8. Not just you, I do that too sometimes. You're still weird though

    Weight

Just out of idle curiosity, I've just filled a bored moment by weighing my working basses: Ibanez BTB six - 10lbs 6oz Sire V7 - 10 3 P bitsa - 10 3 Wal Pro 2E - 10 2 ska Jazz - 10 1 Shuker - 9 7 Thunder 1A - 9 7 fretless Ray - 8 14 No surprise that the biggest bass is the heaviest, but a couple of surprises. The T1A feels far heavier on a strap than it is, and the Shuker feels lighter. Perhaps it's to do with the balance? The Shuke is perfect, while the T1A neckdives like a bastid.
  11. Oh my dear god that is stunning. Quick, nurse, my pills...

  13. Oh boy I'm jealous. I love the Performer basses.

  16. Something I've noticed quite a lot in the last couple of years is bands/artists from the US playing a 'European Tour' that features no UK dates whatsoever. My favourite jazz artist's last European tour featured pretty much every country in mainland Europe (9 dates in Germany!) but the closest he got to the UK was Paris.
  17. I agree. Learn them as-is, and then if you get the job ask if they'd mind you tweaking them a bit or if they'd prefer them left alone. Good luck with the audition! What's the genre?
  18. IT'S NEARLY SEPTEMBER! *jumps up and down like over-excited 5 year old*
  19. Brilliant. I'm going to file that away for future use.
  20. Fixed. It's dreadful.
  21. Now here's something I never imagined happening... actually considering going back to a 4 as my main gigging weapon. I love my 5s but I just fancy a change.

I only have the one fiver these days. But having recently bought a decent Mustang, my long scales have been feeling unloved and have cause to feel twitchy about their long term status.

I’ve  gone back to 4s for some time now, since re-emerging from just about giving up.

I like it. Simplicity and I’ve not needed a 5 in the band environment or when practicing.

I used to view a 5 string as the ‘standard’.

  22. Time will tell regarding the favourableness (probably not an actual word, but IDRGAF ) of the 19 aligned agreements so far in place. As has been mentioned, it's only really a partial win if the carnet issue hasn't been resolved.
  23. From what I understand the visas were only part of the problem. There's the whole issue of carnets for all the gear, merch, etc too.
  24. There aren't many amps that inspire the name of a book (Mo Foster's excellent "17 Watts?").
