  2. Saturday Night Fish Fry - Louis Jordan
  3. My mate has an old horsebox (a towed one though) that he uses to transport his PA. Cheaper than a Transit!
  4. Breakfast in America - Supertramp
  5. Would love to give this a whirl. Did they perhaps miss a trick by not incorporating a DI out?
  6. Joy: realising that Crich Tramway Museum is only half an hour down the road from my holiday let. :D

Heartbreak: finding that yesterday was its last open day this year. :(

I looked up the Heights of Abraham earlier... guess what, they closed for the year on Sunday too

Today, had a lovely walk round the Derwent reservoirs. Tomorrow, it's off to Manchester on the train to visit the Science and Industry Museum.

Starting to think I'm cursed :(

Ok, so we took a trip to the MoSI today... I particularly wanted to see the old station & goods shed, and the aerospace building.

Yup, you guessed it. Both exhibits are closed.

      FFS.

Lovely spot Rich, I'm only 40 minutes away but rarely go.  Try and take in Chatsworth if you've not been before

  8. And no. 😁
  9. I hate big muffs. Gloves are far more convenient.
  10. Just started a week's holiday in Buxton. Staying in a gorgeous apartment in the town centre. It has a beautiful kitchen, wifi, and a pool table.

I don't care if it rains all week. *contented sigh*

Stayed not too far in the summer, while I was grafting for a week in Jon Shuker's workshop! Nice part of the country.

  11. Lay, Lady, Lay - Dylan
  12. I always, rightly or wrongly - probably the latter - interpreted the difference between a screw and a bolt as being the length of the thread: a screw has its entire length threaded whereas a bolt is only partially.
  13. I know of one bloke who touched an Ernie Ball polishing cloth once, and next day he got cancer of the knob and died. He's never got over it.
  14. There's A Kind Of Hush - Herman's Hermits
  15. This. I've had CTS in both wrists at one time or another. One of them had got to the stage where the pain was waking me up at night. Wearing a splint helped but obvs that's a bit of a non-starter when trying to play, so I went for the surgery and have never regretted it for a microsecond. All the numbness disappeared once the nerves had decompressed.
  16. Sennheiser HD280pro. I adore mine.
  17. I've been using Schaller locks exclusively since I bought my Wal in 1986. Never had a single problem, not even so much as a loosening screw. My original set from '86 are still going strong. The new buttons don't sound too great though. Thankfully I think I've got a few of the oldies on hand, so hopefully won't need to buy any in future.
  18. Hide and Seek - Howard Jones
  19. The very best of luck to you all sir!
  20. Sh*t Towne - Live
  21. Nnnnice 😎
  22. Wouldn't affect my opinion in the slightest, I still think the CHB is one of the best 4-string basses I've played regardless of price point. I dare not go to their website as I find it a real struggle not to accidentally buy a sapphire-burst one.
  23. The wood looks a whole lot better as that neck than it did as my stair-rail
  24. Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day
  25. Yes, I found the same thing when I was learning the ska band's set. I knew the actual songs forwards, backwards and sideways from having listened to them constantly as a spotty teen, so learning the actual bass parts was made a lot easier.
