  1. TOP TIP:

If you're going to jump off the front of the stage to dance with the audience during your last song, make sure you don't misjudge the height of the stage and end up flat on your àrse. It's not a good look and is quite embarrassing. Errm, so I'm told.

At least you didn’t do a Grohl and end up in plaster. Or damage your bass (I hope).

Back in 2006, when I was in a death metal band, our drummer stage dived ... and noone caught him. We spent the rest of the night in A&E

  2. Cough. It's getting one. Splutter.
  3. I was 5 in 1970. My listening habits didn't venture much further than this.
  4. King of the World - Steely Dan
  5. ...and we're one man down already... guitarist has tested +ve.
  6. Bedbugs And Ballyhoo - Echo & the Bunnymen
  7. Boxer Beat - JoBoxers
  8. Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum) - The Cheeky Girls
  9. Bang Bang - BA Robertson
  10. New neck is on... setup & truss rod tweaking required now. Once it's all set up and working, I'll strip it back again and apply the oil/paint/decal. Very happy with the look. EDIT: setup complete, action now down to a much healthier 2mm. Neck is lovely. Rich is very happy bunny
  11. @GisserD posted this elsewhere, but I think it's of definite relevance here: https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/2-Effects/44-Saturation/8520-Tape-MELLO-FI Completely free! Qualifying for the free gift too. So you get 2 plugins free.
  12. Splash Say The Fishes In The Sea - Doug Wimbish
  13. Power Windows - Rush YES! The album is worth having just for JG's sublime little fills on 'Family Business'.
  14. A *fingers crossed* gig with Train To Skaville at the Cheese & Grain in Frome, supporting 'SOS' (Abba tribute band). Should be an absolutely belting night. (Now watch it all go horribly wrong...)
  15. I don't understand the level of hate they get. I'd rather listen to their stuff than an awful lot of the dross masquerading as music at the moment. Disagree with/ridicule my opinion if you want, I don't care. I've got a properly stinking cold -- just in time for xmas, spectacular timing -- so I'm feeling massively grumpy.
  16. Glad it's going so well and keep going with the jazz... you'll get to like it, honest Merry Xmas and a bassy New Year
  17. My brother in law spent time with the Gurkhas when he was posted in Brunei back in the day. He reckons that they are a.) the most charming, friendly and loyal people you could wish to meet, and b.) triple-hard little sods who you do not want to annoy in any way, shape or form whatsoever. The Argentinians on the Falklands were absolutely terrified of them and their kukris for very good reason.
  18. Sorry I'm a bit late to the party...my Pro 2E measures as follows: From centre of the 12th fret to the centre of the front pickup, 295/296mm For the same measurement for the rear pickup, 379mm.
  19. The least said about him, the better IMO. The least said about him, the better IMO.

  21. ...ting.
  22. Anything with Yamaha on the headstock.
  23. Go for it, except for the headstock re-shape. Keep it stock (and therefore easily re-sellable). Make sure any mods you make (apart from the paint, obvs) are reversible -- keep all the stock parts. If it goes well, you might decide you want to try the same thing with a better base instrument or with fancier components, e.g. Warmoth body, Status neck, etc.
