1. The bacchus is rather lovely,as is the vigier The alembic looks "glorious"
2. 'Tis rather good looking. There's a very similar fretless Mazeti going at the moment (sans inlay). The only bad thing I can see about buying this guy's stuff is that it has to be imported as opposed to the Mazeti, which has a UK dealer of sorts.
3. After reading the reviews the Harley Benton basses do seem rather appealing, I wouldn't expect something good for under £150 but as they appear to be at least playable could be a good way to get used to playing 5 string or fretless. Shame the fretless isn't lined though that could be a good thing. They used to sell some Peavey lookalikes but I can't seem to find them anymore. But i might take the plunge and just order one in the summer, I have my eye on the 5 string acoustic fretless http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hbb...ss_fretless.htm .
4. I'm sort of tempted to go for a cheap fretless or 6 string, maybe even a fretless 6. Anyone had experience of these, either the "Harley Benton" stuff or those expensive looking imports on ebay. Olie
5. The lady at the bass cellar gave me medium scale strings chucked in with my bass and I couldn't be bothered to go there and change them. They've just been sat in my gig bag for a few months and I don't have see any worth in selling them so I'm giving them away. First one to let me know gets them . I won't be able to post them with any great haste as I have exams and searching for envelopes and stamps won't be a priority but you'd get them eventually. Olie
6. It is out of my price range but knowing that this stuff exists does affect what I want to do, could be worth saving up until I can get something like a Markbass or EA
7. I really like the look of the '74 P. Like what you did for the Stealth Jazz too.
8. Although basstalk was a very good name, to be honest is was a bit too much like talkbass.
9. Jazz/Rock/Funk Pretty much anything really.
10. Really liking the look of the 6. The others are just a bit nice .
11. I do like the carving in the headstock!
12. They have a slightly different bridge I think.
13. I really like the Geddy, IMO it's the best value jazz. I also like the American Jazz, I've a played a couple really good ones. I played the 70's KSD I thought it was very nice, surprisingly powerful, tad overpriced but you might be able to find a good price for one.
14. Thanks, I'm weighing up my options.
15. krazy_olie aka krazy_olie. 18 going on 19 (not quite spotting greys yet ) Been playing 4 years I think. Student of "Computer Systems Engineering" at Bristol. Not much else to say.

19. Thanks for the suggestion of those cabs. I really don't know if it would add that much portability in which case I might just be better off keeping what I have, the Ashdown cab is quite light. Perhaps I'll bring it to Uni next term and see how it goes.
20. Unfortunately Markbass is a bit too far out my price range. The Warwick CL ND 4 looks like the best possible replacement but there's also the possibility of a Hartke, ashdown, line 6 or maybe something else I haven't thought of. 150w would be fine as I don't expect to be playing anywhere big enough without a PA to be honest.
21. Lovely springs to mind
