That looks great! The Affinity series have improved massively in quality over the last few years so I'm sure you'll have an excellent time playing that.
  2. Aaaaaanyway. I really like the white one.
  3. Of course a shop, seller or manufacturer should provide the correct specs when selling an instrument but if I'd find out one of my basses is a different wood than I thought it was, and it's not a crazy expensive bass with very cheap wood, why does it matter?
  4. Why? I mean: if it sounds good, why care? The finish isn't translucent so you wouldn't see the difference anyway.
  5. Although I know I wouldn't use it because of the 70's pickup spacing, I do miss the Skarbee bass I had years ago. Almost bought the ocean turquoise Classic that is for sale on this very forum. But I needed a fiver. But that Skarbee bass... What a bass. What a neck. I've never experienced such a low action on a bass.
  6. I had guessed that but wasn't sure 😅
  7. Of course! Well, I can tell you Gail doesn't read music. So it's probably just lyrics.
  8. The twin sister of my USA Joe Osborn is for sale in Germany for a very decent price. Looks in better nick than mine, and I paid more. https://www.bassic.de/kleinanzeigen/lakland-usa-joe-osborn-signature-44-60-bass.55500/
  9. This has happened and the podcast will be released on November 1st. I can tell you she did say about the caterpillar problem you should blast technical death metal at them. Caterpillars hate blast beats.
  10. Gail Ann Dorsey is one of the nicest people I've ever talked to. She even showed me Marilyn. What an incredible honour to have her on my podcast.

  11. Doesn't necessarily mean they've been released. I've reviewed basses pre-release too.
  12. How has it been over a year someone has posted here? Since I bought the JO4, I've added a JO5 and a Skyline 55-02. Absolutely amazed by the quality of these basses.
  13. Blimey, that's a lot of knobs.
  14. I think he has a Jazz from the not very successful Mortar Series.
  15. I Would Be Your Slave is not a song she was involved in. She did play with Bowie on the supporting tour (as clearly seen in the video above). It is one of my favourite Bowie albums, though.
  16. Next Thursday, I'll be interviewing the amazing Gail Ann Dorsey for my bass player's podcast. Of course I have some stuff I want to ask her about, but maybe you guys also have some questions for this giant And while you're at it, feel free to check out other episodes of the podcast. Many are in Dutch, but the English episodes are: Henrik Linder, Brady Watt, Renaud Garcia Fons, Adam Ben Ezra, Martin Méndez, Joe Dart, James Genus, Kinga Glyk, Tal Wilkenfeld, Pino Palladino, Damian Erskine, Dale Davis, Tim Lefebvre, Stu Brooks, Michael League, John Stirratt, Jeff Berlin and Jeroen Paul Thesseling.
  17. It's barely readable but it says JB-GL and BL. I don't think I have to explain why😄 It's a beauuuutiful bass. GLWTS!
  18. Just got a "yes" on a big, big guest on my bass podcast. Chuffed to bits. Can't wait to speak to this amazing bassist.

      @Owen Here it is:

There are about 10 or 15 episodes in English.

  19. Being an owner of 66 J, 70 J and 71 P and currently in the middle of selling a 73 J for an acquaintance (I always forget how to spell that): totally agree. 🥰
  20. That sounds like the feel my '71 has. It's getting some love and care by my favourite vintage Fender repair guy her in Amsterdam, can't wait to have it back again. I think, because of the pickguard, my bass might have started its life like yours.
  21. That looks góóórgeous. Lovely grain, beautiful wear and a very nice burst, which isn't always the case with 70's Fenders.
  22. Exactly this.
  23. Ah bummer that is a big downer. I might have taken the sloppy binding for granted if the bass was brilliant otherwise and the shop would give me a big discount on the rest of the bass, but I can also see how you expect better from QC from both Cort and Guitar Guitar. They do look amazing...
  24. Lovely! Enjoy that. You won't regret it.
