Vintage ampeg head with a berg 6x10

I love my usa Ampeg cab and don't want to part with it as it sounds ace and looks fantastic with my matching head ,but due to my bands gear and transport arrangements i need to go ever so slightly smaller. I'm looking for a straight trade for another cab just smaller than 6x10's needs to be 4ohm's that can handle the heft of my 300w Ampeg valve head easily. my cab tolex has a few scuffs + i had taped the edges for a bit of protection (nothing to bad at all) the grill is good condition, all cones work perfectly with no defects ,i replaced one that sounded a little off last year with a brand new Ampeg 6ohm replacement. the only thing not 100% is that the tweeter doesn't seem to do anything now?(it doesn't affect the cabs sound) .......but as anyone will tell you with a ampeg 4x10 or 6x10 that they sound a million times better with the tweeter constantly off ( i thought it sucked when i had it on) obviously meet up/collection only due to weight. better [attachment=203515:10696276_10152918007890379_3418449785617682117_n.jpg]pics up tommorrow after practice. based in Devon -
from what i know the 400w version was toured by Krist novoselic (Nirvana)and used in the recording of nevermind........so i imagine it would sound ace?

I don't know about the chinese 1's ,i have a usa slm 6x10 and it sounds ace.....i can't imagine a chinese 1 will differ much? i understand component issues/qc etc with the amps maybe...........but the cabs use the same cones (and wood is wood to a degree)

I have a like new condition synth wah if anyone has a good con bad monkey they wish to trade with? I dont use the wah and want to mod a monkey ................having just spaffed mine up (bad soiler skills) im wanting another.

I'm going to try my first diy with a bad monkey bass mod. I'm going with the 2x 1uf cap change......can anyone advise as to what voltage I need? And does it make a diffence in size as I bought 2 at 250 v (stab in the dark) and they were massive :-( Cheers

I know.And how long are the scores they play .....christ i would struggle with a 10 min hard song let alone 40 min's super hard score.

Anyone watching this on bbc2 now? Amazing talent to watch. I love bass and like to think i'm quite good...............but these musicians certainly knocks me down a peg :-D
