1.
Have you looked at Mark's website, classicandcoolguitars ? I see there's a LImelight for sale at the moment http://classicandcoo...t-custom-00161/ If I was just 20 miles away, I'd be popping around to take a look
I'd rather hang on till i'm closer to having the funds as i would feel to 'obliged' if i tried one if you know what i mean? Also there is something very odd looking to me having a MM pickup in a P bass
2. Also from a vain visual point a 12" cab looks mighty crap compared to a 4x10-8x10 on stage. Always handy to have extra meat.........I've played many an average sized venue where the pa has turned out to be pants, when I've been told "we don't put the bass through the pa" ,ideal to have POWER ;-)
3.
My current GAS favourite at Andy Baxter's is this: http://andybaxterbas...ils.php?id=1015
all this really isn't healthy for anyone viewing :-D
4. Oh my giddy aunt!....... That 58 sunburst is my all time dream bass :-) shame it ain't my dream price though, dang :-(
5. If that's the case then cool.....its a bit misleadingly seeing it plugged in that amp.
6. I didn't see that( just looked on their site) a mid knob as well, that sounds better :-) .....I loved the vt bass, but thought the bass driver was rubbish, especially in a band mix
7. The lack of mid's is probably why they didn't DI it :-D A VT instead of the bass driver might have sold it for me. Handy as a throw in your bag Direct out with no amp thing, but I'm not feeling the Oct/filter side of this.
8. Duplicate topics will be in overdrive in the next few days :-D
9. Wahhhh.....all these new pedals in the run up to NAMM is giving me super gas fever :-D https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nBhwqGV_1LI&feature=youtu.be
10. Buy secondhand, you will lose nothing bar postage costs if you don't like it :-) Always ones popping up on here. I'd recommend the newer version as the footswitch is closer to the bottom of the case ( more room to not knock the knobs). It took me a little time to warm to it .........wouldn't be without it on now :-)
11. Like profFink said "its an acquired taste" ...I absolutely love mine set to a low distortion with plenty of blend in it as an always on pedal,it really makes your amp crisp up beautifully. Playing other effects into it is a real treat :-) But at higher gain less blended distortion I'm not to keen on the sounds, plenty of bottom end just a bit to scooped n metallic sounding for me.all depends what your after?.
12. I always wondered why they never introduced one the same time as the guitar version ? Here it is .......shame its coloured by the vt500 head https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FHiKIpcUqfc
13. To me it is very cheap looking, hopefully reflect in the price?
14. I've just seen that come up on Facebook.i like that growly GK shine ,hopefully replicate it.looking forward to samples after namm.
15. Sorry GisserD ......bit late to the party mate.
16. I would love this, only amp that gives me gas to change out my svt cl for ......dang being broke :-(
17. I see limelight is only about 20 mins away,I might see if he has a bass I could try when I have some £'s ready. Will be plenty of pics later in the year. Cheers
18. It plays exceptionally well with other pedals. I run mine into a b3k and its a match made...I have very hot pickups so I can get quite a aggressive growl from it,I have blend at 11o clock drive at2 tone noon and level to suit. Just found out it also has an internal switch for true bypass or buffered.
19. Things to ponder,I see limelight are made of parts he buys in then relics and bravewood actually makes his necks body's and some hardware. Playability is key I guess
20. I want to start saving for a decent 58 sunburst p bass replica with medium relic. I've followed a lot of talk on limelight basses......and a little on Bravewood. Anyone had first hand with both? Best bang for buck so to speak as there is no price to gauge without having to enquire. I'll probably be tops at £1000
21. I have no probs with gig related dings.....I've caused a few to others gear before.but like you I would be very annoyed without an acknowledged "sh*t sorry mate" or a blasé "meh" attitude
22. "bassist damages drummer"...... Is what the title should say :-D
23. It took at lot of neck relief and action adjusting to eliminate buzz and over clank though. Extra clank could be good in metal style mind......there are a lot of variable's, I play stoner'ish punk and found a heavier gauge 115-120+ to be to boomy
24. I always play cgcf tuning,I've tried higher tension strings in the past ( Dunlop drop etc) I just stick with standard 105-50 gauge... Since my bass has been tuned like that for a couple of years I have no problems,a good action and sound. I love the flexibility of bending and slides with 105 strings. All depends on how you play? Light/heavy fingers/pick .I'm a medium to heavy pick player.
25. Remindeds me slightly of a dha eq This is two notes demo https://youtu.be/fBdE1RyU1ww
