1. I had a 3 pro and although it was great, the 2 pro is greater!
2.
I don't have a choice... I travel to gigs, rehearsals, recordings etc on public transport so a 210 on a trolly and a class D is all I can manage. To be honest 19 gigs out of 20 I'm DId straight into the house PA anyway and my rig is just a monitor.
I can totally understand that buddy and I'd do the same if in your position.
3. About 10 years ago I had an SVT 2 Pro and SVT 810 cab. Although I loved it, I gradually downsized it, after seeing that's what everyone else was doing, and ended up with an Orange Bass Terror and Genz Benz neo 2x12 (with a VT bass pedal to add grit). Really lightweight and I could carry it to the car in one trip. The snag was, although it sounded great, I always felt something was missing so gradually upsized to my current rig of, SVT 2 Pro and SVT 410 HLF. When I now play through this rig, I can clearly hear what I was missing. There just seems to be something that much of the lightweight gear cannot produce, no matter how good it is. Perhaps it's just me and I know that all this is just my opinion, but I was wondering if anyone else on here has had a similar experience? For me, this is my ideal set up and I've promised myself that no matter how heavy it may be, it's never going in the for sale section!

6.
Good excuse to buy another 8 ohm speaker to go with your existing one :-)
That is of course another good option!!
7. I'm afraid it isn't mate. You need a 4 ohm cab with the svt classic. Some will say it's ok, many do it and the actual manual is misleading but these amps should not be used at 8 ohms. It's been rightly described as like smoking; it won't kill your tubes and transformer immediately but it will slowly.

10. Awesome cabs. I gigged one for ages and filled every room with ease. Only sold it cos I wanted another 8x10 in a moment of madness!
11. Hi, anyone selling one or know somebody who is please? Any help would be appreciated, cheers.
12.
I've been really considering an ABM to use as well as my JJ-500. Currently really diggin' the whole Ashdown thing (ABM610 included!)
Hear, hear!
13. Amazing amp. I have a limited edition ABM Klystron 500 Noir. It kicks some serious ass! Beautiful tone and power. I never get it when people criticise them. I know it's only people's opinions but not only does mine sound awesome to me ears: my band, sound engineers and audiences are always complimenting my tone. This head is also used by the bass players of bands Foo Fighters, Stranglers, Biffy Clyro, Bloc Party, Libertines, Suede, Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, Buckcherry etc..... Listen to 'Wasting Light' by the Foo Fighters, outstanding tone, all on an ABM. If that's not enough, Ashdown are the best company I've ever dealt with, in any sector. Enjoy it man, welcome to the family!
14. Never had an issue with a single Ashdown product, and their customer service is the best I've ever experienced, not just in musical instrument companies, in any sector. Outstanding company and products. The best.

16. I have a Genz neo 2x12 and whilst it is amazing and light, I wouldn't relish the thought of lagging it to gigs on buses. I was toying with the idea of an ashdown or markbass 2x10 before getting it but got this one as it fits in the car and pumps out some serious bass. If I were you if get a sansamp BDI and go through the desk.
17. Hiya mate. I have a mibass 220 and it's fine for gigs with no PA support. I do however have a 4 ohm cabinet. I guess yours is 8 ohm? Getting another 8 ohm cab will make your load 4 ohm, thus getting the full power from the amp, as will using one 4 ohm cab. Hope this helps.
18. Hi there, i have a constant cut/sore on my middle finger of my right hand. I'm starting to give up playing with my fingers and use a pick all the time as it's really becoming a trial. Any tips or tricks to stop this happening? Cheers.
19.
I've been looking at rack bags as I figure it can be slung over the shoulder for transporting which may make things marginally easier but again, the side vented issues are a concern and I haven't found one with vents in the sides...........yet Thanks in advance
I'd love to see you sling an SVT 2 Pro over your shoulder. You'd probably be in A&E with a dislocation!!
20. I had an svt 2 pro for years and found the overheating thing didn't ever happen. After a gig you could've fried an egg in top of the flightcase but there were no side vents. I was told that a soft case or plastic case wouldn't be sturdy enough to support it's weight. They're just extremely heavy I'm afraid...... Hence mine getting sold!!
21. I've got a six month old one and the DI is great. The problem was restricted to an early batch and long since rectified.
22. Hi folks, for sale or trade (Barry area) is my almost new OBT 500. Works perfectly and sounds amazing. The only reason I'm selling is because a new band forces completely different sounds so I need more flexibility. I will trade for an Ashdown ABM RC 500. Comes complete with box, manual and carry bag, as you'd receive from the shop. I'm prepared to post the amp if somebody would like to pay by paypal or transfer. You are more than welcome to come and try out at my home in Barry, South Wales. I bought the amp from Thomann for £432 in October so I'd say this is a more than fair price. Thanks for reading, Dave.
23. I have owned a few Ampegs and would say the following: Svt 2 pro- awesome but too heavy and unreliable, had two different ones cut out mid gig and got a hernia trying to move it. Svt 4 pro- awful tone, hated it. Svt 3 pro- like a smaller less powerful 2 pro, very reliable and loud. People say they're underpowered but I never found that. You could however use your existing setup and buy a sansamp vt character pedal!! Not as much fun I know but sounds bloody close to an all valve Ampeg without all the negatives.
