  1. I've also weighed the bass and it comes in at exactly 5lbs πŸ˜‰
  2. Will measure tomorrow! πŸ‘πŸΌ
  3. Sorry @iain_psb no thanks, I'm trying to have a clear out! πŸ˜‰
  4. Anything specific Tom? High mass bridge, lightweight tuners, maple neck/fingerboard, brass vol/tone knobs, Paulownia bodywood, I seem to recall the pickup was branded but can't remember what. All plays and sounds well. Anything else I've missed just shout up πŸ‘πŸΌ great bass for a young 'un as it's so lightweight, and equally for anyone struggling with heavier bass weight in general. This has been in a case behind a settee unused for years so time to let go. I'll weigh it when I get chance πŸ˜‰
  5. *NOW SOLD* Like the Jazz I've got on sale, this was bought on a whim and unused by me. Very lightweight, I'm just looking to get back what I paid years ago, Β£150 + delivery at your expense.
  6. WITHDRAWN...
  7. The inspiration behind The BlazerRay, absolutely amazing what Andy did to Mick's bass, and those Simms make it extra special. Love that bass ❀️
  8. Dave it's killer! The pup and East preamp are a fantastic combo as said by @Andyjr1515early on in the thread..πŸ‘πŸΌ
  9. 7 hour total round trip with craic, coffee, traffic, weather and bog stops Dave πŸ˜³πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  10. So, still resisting the starshaped Warwick then Dave...πŸ™„πŸ˜²πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜† Think TalkTalk's bassist had the fretless version of that Kramer, tasty πŸ˜‰πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ
  11. Completed a great buying experience with Dave today, culminating in a round trip to beautiful Biggar, his home in South Lanarkshire. Communication prior to travelling was fantastic, a 40 minute phone call, several texts, including comprehensive photographs, written details, emails, measurements and even more photographs. Detailed route on how to find him - just in case the satnav played up πŸ˜† - he pulled out all the stops to reassure me the trip was going to be worthwhile. It was πŸ˜‰ Brilliant craic when we got there, he had even sanitised every flightcase prior to our arrival. Brilliant 😊 Deal done at a safe distance with an absolute gent, deal with complete confidence, this guy is a first class Basschat seller and a credit to the BC community πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ Resist the starshaped Warwick Dave! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  12. Thought I'd update this thread with some visible pics as the @Clarky ones appear to have gone. Interesting to see this was once Kev Hoppers bass, presumably he commissioned it. I love it, it's a beautifully crafted bass with Nordstrand pups encased in ebony surrounds with matching ramp and knobs and it to my ears, sounds great. One of my mates calls it my Salvador Dali bass
  13. I too remember hearing Eruption for the first time on my mates turntable back in the day, awesome playing which left us both mystified at the time as to how it was done. I loved the 'Hot for teacher' video as well.. 'Sit down Waldo!' Cheeky chappy and one amazing player EVH πŸ‘
  14. Yup, anything with more than four strings does the same to me 😁
  15. Good shout PT πŸ‘πŸΌ
  16. More incredible skill from Andy, superb! πŸ‘πŸΌ
  17. That looks fantastic! πŸ‘πŸΌ
  18. Amazing work so far πŸ‘πŸΌ
  19. Router gets my vote. And I am a rank amateur πŸ™„
  20. What else can I add to the excellent feedback already stated above.. Deal done in 10mins, brilliant comms throughout, amazing sturdy packaging and next day delivery as promised. Top Basschatter Clarky πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ
  21. ...mind you, I've never needed to cut the top off a small nail like the original advert πŸ˜‚
  22. Great bit of kit to have in your armoury, surprisingly versatile for cutting, sanding polishing etc I'd recommend the 'real thing' if your budget allows, they are very well made and tool bits are decent too
  23. A dremel has pulled me out of a few potential DIY disasters πŸ˜†
  24. Looking good so far. What about trying a dremel first, with say a little sanding drum just to be cautious? You could accurately expand the sides out just where the pots need to fit? 😎
  25. Nice one @Obra, you must have had time to kill, I thought this thread was dead and buried quite some time ago 🀣 Pleased to report back that this still gets played regularly, and sits in the corner of our living room.
