1. In order to protect my ageing limbs, I decided to buy a used CMD121 H which matched perfectly the power and presence of my trusted ashdown abm evo 3 + 2x12 GB NEO cab.. Immaculate as new condition, cosmetically and a bargain price of just £350.... However, the second gig I used it on, power died completely, halfway through first set. Had to daisy chain from my MFX pedal direct into the mixer / PA - horrible... Transpires that it is failing at the transistors stage (circled red in attached) so, given the nature of the construction, I have booked myself in to get a repair done at Essex Amp repairs, who I have used in the past. BUT, am I wasting time, effort and money, as the amp is 9 years old and who knows what the replacement elements will cost?? I also understand there was a known board problem with this amp (Combo Head 2) - anyone else aware of this and how was it resolved by Markbass? Back to Ashdown for the next series of gigs!! TIA Paul
2. Would this work as a way to spread my tone, retaining natural bass and a hint of twinned distortion to help fill out our trio sound when the guitarist goes into a solo?
3. This sounds fascinating - the sub n up I mean. Currently I use ME50b octave with distortion and chorus. Just too muddy for me. Go via Ashdown abm 500 rc evo 3 and genz Benz cabs (4x10 and / or 2x12). Great wall of sound but sometimes a little subtlety is needed!!
4. Hello all. I play in a 3 piece, as indeed many of us do.. when the guitarist branches out into a solo, I usually activate a touch of distortion to fill out the sound for the duration. Not perfect but it helps. My question is whether there's an fx out there that can better emulate a cleaner second power chording guitar while playing bass as opposed to dialling in distortion? P
5. Hi. Opinions sought re Mayones basses in general and Caledonius 5 string specifically!
6. I may be interested in this, though tis a tad dear - I have a USA P bass deluxe but have hankered after the sunburst configuration for a while, now that they can switch passive / active.. Seem to recall that historically the MIMs were only active
7. Experienced and committed bassist with great gear, transport and vast, diverse repertoire into most genres - also backing vocals, some guitar and keys when suits... - excellent local gig contacts seeking new band. Current band winding down now after 4 years together so looking forwards to a new challenge / opportunity
8. Hi - What are you seeking to trade?
9. Seamless and pragmatic transaction and the cab is superb! - many thanks Paul

Les Paul bass ('94 vintage) tho can be too heavy for a full on gig and have to change at half time... depending on how fit I'm feeling and whether drop D is required from the set list! I have a list of basses I never gig too - such a waste!!
