9. Hi Matt - fairly interested but I am in South Essex - around 150 miles away, though I do go into London every day so logistically it is a challenge to see it in the flesh.... What is the story it has to tell, btw and did u retain the bridge cover?
10. I have a black Aerodyne Jazz bass a possibilty? I prefer P necks as opposed to J necks so I am considering moving it on Superb condition - pics available Serial # S049899 which makes it 1994/5
11. [sub]@Matty K - looks quite 'well used' which isn't a bad thing![/sub] [sub]What is the serial # and w[/sub][sub]here are you located[/sub]

13. Thanks for the bump - I would say this guitar is more a work of art than just a bass!
14. Reluctant sale, but I just don't play it enough to warrant it gathering dust in the 'music room'.... A really beautiful, eye catching 1996 Gibson les paul special 5 string bass - sunburst, ebony fretboard, mother of pearl trapezoid fret inlay and detail, active barts in 9.5/10 condition with original hardshell case (still with plastic blocker on the catch). This is a rarity, as I am certain you know - especially in this condition - Serial # 90866715 Nashville Plant, TN, USA March 27th, 1996 Production Number: 415 New strings and in excellent condition. One tiny ding at bottom of the lower horn (?) OIRO £1100 Would consider px for USA deluxe precision bass - 4 bloody strings!! 15.
I have thought about that but I've got quite small hands so the 6 string might just push me over the edge of where I'm comfortable, as it is I'll probably be looking for a 5 string with a narrower neck.
Gibson Les Paul 5 string bass has a pretty narrow neck for a 5 string... which is why I am struggling with it! Anyone interested in one of these - 1994 vintage sunburst. Beautiful looking active bartolini pups etc?
16. Hi Welcome to the forum - I am a self confessed Budgie nut and have been watching since 1974. Met Burke a few times and thanked him personally for teaching me bass - He was a bit confused by this till I stated that I learnt from all the albums. I progressed to Geddy lee, John wetton and Chris Squire later.. I am now in a covers band and try to slip Budgie stuff in wherever I can. Stuff like their versions of Nutbush and Baby Please Don't Go... also Breadfan of course I can get away with - wish I could do more Budgie stuff but they are a bit obscure nowadays.... I am also on Bandolier! You must know Sacko, I take it? He pulled together some handy tabs I recall that Simon Lees and Burke did not gel too well.... according to a guitaring mutual acquaintance of mine....... You need a battered P Bass though - A Rickie aint right. Trace Elliot is okay though! Hope Burke recovers soon from his heart related problems.. P
17. Bought a MIM Sunburst P Bass. No problems at all, excellent communication and packaged very well indeed... The bass was actually far better than I had expected so I am well pleased - many thanks! P
18.
Is he open to trades?
Are these now sold?
19.
Cheers for the info.
I have had a natural wood P Bass with a Jazz neck since around 1980 - I bought it second hand in Wapping Bass Centre all those years ago. I know nothing of it's provenance and I am certain it is not a real Fender, but a handbuilt guitar. I have to say that of all the basses i have owned, this has been the greatest servant; the action, the set up and the power is brilliant. I must do some pix and post them on here. It must date from the seventies.. though i gave it a real overhaul last year with new bridge nut / scratchplate etc and its in great nick I mention this, as I am going to sell it on for a mere £300 o.n.o. as I am getting on a bit and it is too heavy for my weak shoulders. I invested in an Aerodyne instead and now I can jump around a bit again.. P
20. And such a low offer accepted! Pity I missed out on this beauty..
