1. I got a Fender Rumble 100 (1x15" speaker) in about 2005 and I still have it and use it to this day. TBH I've know idea why I bought a 4x10 and Trace head the Fender is fine. Has a great tone and a mid shift button which I find very useful and it's seriously loud! I don't think I've ever needed to turn the volume past 9 o'clock - and I've played open air gigs in big school bands complete with noisy drummer. Only thing that annoys me is the weight. Highly recommended.
2. Several Rush songs. YYZ being a good example. I can play everything apart from the really fast main riff. Also I think it's Red Barchetta where there's several parts it changes time signature and I can't get my head around it.
3. When it's me on my own I usually play The Enemy Within by Rush or Police and Thieves. Both good bass lines that cover plenty of notes.
4. Right this second??? This For the last few days I've been listening to The Cribs - Mirror Kissers on repeat, though. Brilliant song, full of energy
5. Yeah I got that bit. But I wasn't sure on the rest of it. I know to msot people we sound very Oasis-ey and I absolutely hate Oasis, but to be honest when I listen to it and when I'm playing it doesn't sound anything like Oasis. That's to me anyway.
6. I've no idea if all of that comment is sarcastic or just. But we didn't do it ourselves, we went to a small local studio. Front man isn't called Liam, but I am. Another two gone up now from tonight as well... It's worth noting thought that these are only rough versions. They've still to be properly mastered.
7. Is now on the Myspace (www.myspace.com/empiregb) If you get chance have a listen and let me know what you HONESTLY think. It was the first time any of the other members had recorded and they were all fairly nervous. Despite me being the youngest by a fair margin I've recorded stuff before. I think we got this track done in just under two hours including all the fiddling by the sound man in Logic 9 and adding stuff folk forgot about. We're back there tonight and we'll hopefully have another two songs. Cheers
8. Anymore info/pics on the TE head? What ohmage?
9. These are such beautiful basses. How much do they come up for sale over here? I've had a quikc look on eBay and they're al in the US. Also what's the average price?
10. I appreciate all the help but everything that has been said so far means nothing to me. To the shop it is.
11. Still none the wiser after reading that article since the article was written for people who already have a knowledge of this sort of thing. Would I be able to get this shielding done at a shop or when I get my bass set up soon?
12. I got it screened inside the control cavity What's that mean?
13. This is strating to annoy me quite a bit now - it seems to happen with all the amps I use. Bass: Fender MIA '75 Reissue Basically whenever I'm not playing or not muting the strings there's always a buxxing/humming coming from the amp. If I turn off all the knobs then it goes. Could this pe aproblem with some of the connections on the bass or could it be a problem with my leads? PS. I have about as much electrical and soldering knowledge as a banana. Any help appreciated
14. I always take my own backline whether I'm asked to or not - just in case. I remember one gig I did with my old band. We were asked to fill a support slot a few days prior to the gig as a band had pulled out, we were told we could use the supports bands backline. I turned up and asked the bassists and he knew nothing about it. Thankfully he let me use it. But the organiser f*cked up that night. I didn't really like using somebody elses 8x10 full Ampeg rig anyway - too scared of breaking it.
15. I've got a VBC412 which I bought off Thumperbob off here and I've never had any problems with it. Excellent sounding cab.
16. I always thought it sounded very fretted, and now I've just found the guitar-less version above I think it even more.
17. Fretless can be what you want it to be. This sounds immense, I had no idea it was played on fretless till I watched an interview with Geddy
18. For looks it has to be maple with black block inlays and black bniging ^_^ My main bass (MIA '75 reissue Jazz) has a maple board but I've also got a Yamaha RBX270X with Rosewood board and that is a superb instrument. I've no idea if there's any tonal differences
19. Randomly found this on Youtube. It's amazing.

21. I've got a natural MIA '75 reissue. Not sure what the year of manufacturer is - either 2007 or 2008. Went into a music shop looking for a Ric and there were non available so picked t it up had a noodle and walked out with it half an hour later. That was April 2008. Still got it and not had a single problem with it. Palys beautifully, sounds amazing, feels amazing, looks amazing. Last week I put a Badass II bridge on but that was more out of curiosity to see what all the fuss is about. Since I bought it this has been the bass I sue for everything, recording, gigging, practicing. You can't go far wrong with one of these. May end up buying another Jazz as a back up bass.

Mr. Foxen

Ordered a BadAss II bridge off Oli. Received it within a couple of days of payment. Quick and easy. Handwriting on envelope was scruffy!
23. I can't tell you how two VBCs work with a VBA head but I've got one VBC412 and it's the mutt's. It's paired with a TE GP7SM 130 head so it'll be nowhere near it's full potential but it still seriously moves some air. Unfortunately I'm considering selling it as it's just too big really.
