Geddy Lee Paul Simonon Then a split between Flea and Matt Freeman I can't play half as good as any of them, and when I'm writing basslines I don't particularly think about their basslines. But they're the bassists that I look up to most.

Afternoon all, I'm starting to build my own bass. Gunna go for a Precision/tele-type bass depending on what bodies I can find. Played the first gig with the new band (www.myspace.com/punkyrebelmedia) on Friday at the Met Lounge, Peterborough. Drummer and singer are all that remain of original line up so this was essentially a new band doing their first gig. Enjoyed it immensely. Everything went really well. There were only about 20/30 people there or so - none of who ventured to the front - but we got a really good receptiona dn everyone seemed to enjoy it. Still on a high TBH.

After being a devout Jazz bassist for the past two years or so I'm beginning to want a Precision again. Not long joined a punk/ska band and I long for the P bass sound to sit in the mix.

Are there any videos or sound clips of this yet? I desperately want to hear it.
