1. I'm not too fussed about big lows... Sounds like the Double Midget would be the best bet. I'm saving up now. Cheers Alex, it's good to talk to somebody who makes it simple. Have you got an image of th DM?
2. I don't think I'd fair too badly tbh. At practice and at smallish gigs I don't turn the amp past halfway and that gives me PLENTY of sound. Would the DOuble Midget be the same?
3. Not that fussed tbh. I like the roadworn look but my Fender '75 RI Jazz is only 18 months old so isn't roadworn yet. I bang it on all sorts - ceilings, cupboards, walls etc. Not really bothered. Never gets a clean.
4. Where in Cambridgeshire you based mate? I'm very tempted by this. Are the elctrics working fine?
5. FWIW I use a Fender '75 RI Jazz strung with rounds. Genereally I like the low mids to be strong.
6. I'm currently using a Marshall VBC412. I wouldn't be replacing the Marshall. The Compact or whatever would jsut be for practice, smaller gigs, gigs where I have to play upstairs etc... Next on my list is a half decent amp.
7. Have you got a picture od the Double Midget? Next to a bass maybe to get an idea of scale.
8. The first bass looks cool in those reggae colours. Massive pickup overload, though!
9. Sound immense - especially the Jazz. What strings you using on the jazz?
10. Morning. I'm looking at getting a Compact once I have the money but I'm not sure if my amp could provide sufficient power to get the best out of the Compact. It's a Trace elliot GP7SM 130. Which has 130 watts and runs at a peak of 260 watts and can run two 8 ohm speakers at 4 ohms. So I'm worried it wouldn't power the Compact sufficiently. Would I be alright with a Compact or would a Double Midget be better? **EDIT** I forgot to add that the band I'm in play sort of British rock and roll, think the Beatleas, The Clash, The Who etc... I like quite a bass soundy but I play a jazz so there's also a bit of mid punch in there.
11. I'm 19 so it won't just be full of oldies
12. How do these things work? Does everyone jsut bring their gear?
13. That's very cool. How does it sound?
14. Where is there no mention of bass amps on the Matamp website?
15. Never ordered from GAK, always found Soundslive to be cheaper. Although GAK's website is much better.
16. I'll not have the money till after Xmas Still leaning more towards the Compact
17. How near?
18. Once I've saved up I'm looking to get a compact speaker to take to smaller gigs and practice. Until today I was dead set on the Barefaced Compact because it's fairy cheap and they get a really good write up on here. I was just wondering if anyone on here has Purple Chili PBC112 or PBC115 and could tell me how they are?
19. If I'm free then I'm in 1. Born 2B Mild 2. yorks5stringer 3. Al Heeley 4. Wonderhorse
20. Where's the southern one at the minute? We've got a new practice room so I wouldn't mind being added to the list.

I've changed the list accordingly.
24.
You may need to try them both to see what you like better, although I'd say either would work. I much prefer the TIs which are nickel and looser tension wise. The La Bellas are steel (I think) and much tenser. It's a while since I played any La Bellas but IIRC the TI's have a more middy sound. You might also want to consider Pyramid Golds. No doubt a second opinion will be along soon.
Yeah if they weren't so expensive I'd by a set of each but unfortunately I'm not flushed with cash. From what I've seen on Youtube the La Bellas sound better to me Is TI Tomastik?
25. I'm thinking a botu taking the plunge and putting some flats on my Jazz. Would you recommend La Bellas or the TI Jazzs. Since these two seem to be the most popular. For the record the band I play in is british rock n roll (Beatles, The Who, The Clash, The Jam) that sort of stuff but it's all original material, and my bass lines have abit more of a reggae/ska feel to them rather than the usual root note thumping.
