    I sort of want to find a tatty but functional one, have it sprayed metallic brown and have the old Marathon chocolate bar logo on the mini pickguard… I’ve started with an idiotic idea and it won’t go away…

    Nut width - 43mm - but very shallow. Weight. The scales I put out on the side for a new battery, which I’ve been out to buy… Have now been ”tidied away” - and she’s off out to watch city/villa with the lad. Now, by my patented hold in the hand and guess within 10% method…8.5lbs.

    Yeah - under the truss Rod cover is a stamp finishing in 80, meaning it’s one of the later ones - no flaky finish, and a “long horn” - pretty cool. There were some of these bodies still knocking about until a few years ago apparently. The case is hilariously aged - covered in stickers from 1992/1991 gigs for “Konkrete Hamster”

    Well…after a bit of a wait, and a bit of Wayne Carini style “it’s all about the chase” behaviour… A mate had bought a 70’s one on a whim and I was absolutely smitten with it…but he wouldn’t sell. Off I set on my little search…found via the Shergold owners group on Facebook. Original 1980 case too. its very clean overall with some edge marks. Not bad for 44 years old.

    Weight - my scales have spat a battery…🙄 Its lighter than the Orange BB which is 9.2lb so I’ll say 9lbs the nut is 40mm (just measured)

    So, after chasing one of these for a good while - to replace one I stupidly sold… I found an immaculate blue one. it arrived and I was blown away. A minor issue was that the D tuning peg was slipping. Replaced with Hipshot Y tuners. Now smooth as owt. I swapped the knobs out for BB Black speed knobs. Looks loads better. Original Rosewoods can be put back on if you prefer. Wearing Flatwounds, silky low action. Original Knobs (Rosewood) and machine heads (even though one is goosed) will be included. Don’t really want it to go - but the house is too full currently 😂 Had to post a price, happy to listen to realistic offers via PM collection preferred - Manchester Can post at buyers risk. Slip cover gigbag only - so will buy shares in bubble wrap before posting… RELISTED - Since I withdrew the sale, I’ve had the opportunity to get involved with another bass more suited to what I’m doing; I have my main ABG and to be honest, the songs are getting heavier and less acousticy. So, while I’m loathe to do it - I am selling this bass. And I know I’ll regret it, and put a wanted ad up in 18 months…but. I’ve always said “if it’s not in use, set it loose…” (I haven’t always said that…but, whatever…) £20 to post in UK

    Honestly one of the best bass sounds I ever had. Watched a gig back from 2023 with an SR5, just a phenomenal sound.

    Sweet Caroline is killing me off too, not so much the song but the inane bullshite sports version - good times never felt so good “SOGOOD SOGOOD SOGOOD” - Why? I watch a lot of boxing. I mute it every time it’s on.

    Buy it. Practice isn’t as impressive as looking balls cool with a blue thunderbird… plus, skill (or lack thereof) never stops me buying
