As new Cavemen BP1 compact for sale. Still in box, though used the box to transport to gigs, so slightly frayed. Bought this from Bass Direct a while ago, when my Sonic Farm pre completely died at a gig, and depending on the gig, either used the caveman or an old Paradriver. Was running this straight into a power amp for gigs, but now I’ve gone for an amp head again (with a nice built in DI), so this is just sitting around now. Used it probably around 20/30 times, and always boxed, so it’s as new really. £370 posted to your door. Thanks Sorry that the pictures are upside down- for some unknown reason, they just won’t let me spin them around. Sold

Bit late on a couple… Last Saturday was at a club in Cromer with the Northern Soul band, and it was a great night. Loads of Northetn Soulies dancing all night from the off. Next day was a Sunday afternoon session with the ska band. The main sax player, who also plays guitar and sings, has not been well for a while, and has had numerous tests and scans etc. He said it’d be his last gig for a while, until he’d got sorted out what was wrong with him. So the extended sax break in Pigbag, with the main singer/guitarist/2nd sax, where they trade off licks at the end, was far far longer. It’s brought to an end by me hitting a note, for them to come back in with the main riff. I let them both carry on for ages, as non of us knew when we’d play with him again. Turns out that we won’t ever again. The next day he was told he had terminal Pancreatic cancer, that had also gone to his lungs, liver, and bones. Been given 6 months; but knowing people who’ve had this, he’s probably looking at weeks. He’s only 51, and been a pro played for years- spent ages with Suzi Quattro on tours, playing sax, guitar, and bass- when she went on keys for the occasional song. Not got another Ska gig until next Friday , so we’ve drafted in the Northern Soul singer, so we can pad out the sets with some other songs etc. All a bit sh*t really. This Thursday did a small wedding with the Function band (all of the 3 bands have some members that play in all of them), and that was a lovely little gig. Last night was Function band again, that was a complete scrub out- but there you go. We’re out again tonight at another wedding, which should be good; and then tomorrow afternoon with the Northern soul lot. So apart from the bad news , which has hit us hard, it’s a really busy month of gigs

Aguilar DB750 that I bought off Mike (Chimike) on here, into two Bergantino 212s. Sounds really nice

I'm gigging so much this year, but don't tend to post much on this thread. Had a Saturday night with the function band at a holiday camp, which was pretty good, but Monday Bank Holiday's afternoon gig at a local pub (mini beer festival was great). Do it every year, and weather was perfect, and it was rammed full. A little picture of some ol' middle aged man fumbling away on bass..... ho hum

Still a rebuild in progress again. The Darkglass is linked in, but not used. So with what I’m doing now, the board is all about enhancement, rather that any specific effects. Sorry the picture is on the wonk- can’t seem to get it turned around

Official Aguilar 3U rack sleeve. This came with my recently purchased DB750, but not needed as I already had a rack for it to go into. These are £300-350 online, and this one is absolutely pristine. Comes in the original Aguilar box, with packaging. Price is £120, plus whatever it costs to ship. Collection is preferred, although I’m gigging all over Norfolk and Suffolk, pretty much all of the time, so a meet up is also possible. Thanks for looking. Paul

Trace Elliot 100w 715 combo for sale Cover is pretty much rubbish- as it was when I bought it, so you’ll want to get a better cheapie sleeve. Sounds really really loud- as you’d expect. Owned for about a year, and it’s in remarkably good condition for a Series 6 (probably around 30 years old I reckon). Unable to ship due to weight, so pick up only please. I have gigs left this month in Kings Lynn, Ipswich, Norwich, Hemsby, Ashill and Cromer. So you could meet me at one of those. Or next month’s gigs are Poringland, Kings Lynnx2, Gorleston, Hingham, Northwold, Horning, Lowestoft and Claydon. Not really after trades, as I have far too much gear and trying to have a clear out. Thanks for looking Paul

Just an additional note, that Mike is an absolutely lovely guy, and real font of knowledge when it comes to older amps. If I didn't have such a long journey back home, I could of easily spent hours there, just taking about gear and playing in general. He still has a ton of stuff there. The Trace V8 has gone, but there's still a lovely pristine V6 there, and other old Trace stuff hidden away. A lot of his stuff will be difficult to find anywhere else I reckon. Paul

The temptation that is Chimike's place, has struck again. Was after the DB750, as just can't seem to find a 751 that anyone wants to sell. Day off work, and drove from Norfolk to Worthing (Sussex) - I don't know how people do the M25 every day, I really don't. Had a remarkably close shave with a car spinning off after hitting the concrete centre right in front of me on the way back- no idea how I and others missed him really, but there you go. So went down to get the Aguilar, and ended up depleting all that money I had after selling two basses, by buying the Trace too. I'm sort of glad that I'm now out of dosh completely, and that Mike is so far away, or I'd be helping him in his quest to clear out the hoarders paradise that masquerades as an engineering unit. Just a quick pic

Sansamp Para Driver for sale. Bought from BD a fair few months ago, but now not being used. I used it to drive a power amp when my main pre stopped working, and it’s an awesome bit of kit, but I’ve now got a few pre amps, so it’s just not being used. Velcro on the bottom was already there. Original box and little card inside. Will be well packaged, and price is tracked delivery to your door. Thanks

Yes thanks - if I was to buy the 750, his would be the one I'd buy. In many ways they're different amps, so it's the 751 is the one I'm after. Thank you though
-
Thanks for thinking of me mate. I called them last week, and was told a deposit had been put down on it by someone.
-
Already sold. Their stock on their site is never up to date- stuff can be sold months ago.
-
I've messaged him already- no reply. Did the same last year, after he reached out to trade the amp with a bass I was selling. Held off other buyers, and after weeks of no communication, sold it to someone else. Messaged him on FB, but I think his settings are set to no messages seen, unless you're one of his FB Friends. Waste of time. I'll keep on looking
-
Thanks for replying. Yes I've seen a few hire companies that have them, so I'll try a speculative reach out. The Galley's one is sold, and the one that is for sale on here from last year, that doesn't show as sold (maybe sold?) is being sold by someone that never replies to messages at all. I guess I'll keep a lookin'

Mods- please feel free to delete, if this is against any of the rules. I put up an ad in the Wanted section, asking if anyone had one of these amps to sell. The Wanted section never seems to attract many views at all. There's often a reply to the selling of something, only for someone to reply that there's someone wanting one, in the Wanted section . I know that they don't come up for sale that regularly, and it's a struggle to find any one anywhere at all for sale second hand. Are they going down the same route if the fabled Sadowsky SA200- ie one pops up every few years or so? Just a question really chaps. Paul

For anyone who hasn't seen my Sadowsky thread. This is an update of my earlier post of the the pickups only on page one of here. My mate finished it Wednesday, and I played it tonight at rehearsal - will gig it tomorrow night. So it's 3 Nordstand Fat Stacks, still the Sadowsky pre, and pan pot replaced with a five way rotary - ala Strat style (rear, rear+middle, middle, middle+front, front).
