1. Lol this had to come up at some point, I can understand constructive criticism but when its people just making stupid comments, infact I actually registered on youtube a little while ago just because somebody had made crappy comments about some ones playing so that I could comment back lol. Turns out after joining here I think the guy I was defending is a member on here lol
  2.
HAHA in that case, my hands are anti-Stingray as mine has never sounded good in my hands
Lol it could well be I've heard basses played before and they sounded nice and then I've played them and been completely different and the other way round, I'm quite aggressive with my strings like you too though. I need to try and do some clips myself, my pc that I usually use had some fault with the soundcard line in and mic didnt seem to want to work but am using a different one now so now might be the time to get some sorted lol
  3.
Glad you liked the clips. I will be doing some more as others have asked for them also. I am very dissapointed with the Stingray but as others have said, maybe it comes alive in the mix with a full band. What ESP do you have?
My ESP is a B406-SM its the 6 string spalted maple one, its got a really nice sound to it to be honest very different to the Warwick and is really good for the money, don't get me wrong the stingray was nice sounding just not as good as the warwick but they say basses sound different in different peoples hands I guess
  4. Gotta be the Warwick for me followed closely by the ESP, strangely enough I've got a ESP and a Warwick although thats not why I voted lol. I was very much like you loved the idea of a stingray, flea used one they've always had a really nice sound and look really cool. Around last year I went to go and get a new bass as my vintage kramer had become somewhat unreliable and had become a bit worried about it getting scratched, dented or breathed on lol, so I went to my local ish music shop and tried a couple of basses. I tried a stingray that sounded brilliant unplugged and a couple of warwicks and then tried them through a mark bass amp, the stingray was good but as much as I liked it was just blown out of the water by the Streamer Jazzman I ended up buying, great thread by the way would love to see more like this with different basses
  5.
You might want to investigate loading audio only stuff up on Garageband, MySpace or YouTube and then link from your thread to the audio. Alternatively, get some free hosting and load up MP3s there...if anyone is using Firefox with the Foxy Tunes plugin will be able to right click the link and play it through their chosen media player. Good luck! P
Cheers mate I might have a crack at the myspace thing then, I had a myspace account ages ago but never done a myspace music one where you can upload your own tracks, does it cost anything? and how do I get started? lol
  6. Ignore me just watched live version on youtube and its a 5 string stingray, never would of guessed DOH!
  7. Well before coming on here I thought that blood sugar sex magic was recorded on a stingray but found on here it was actually recorded on a Wal so I got to thinking I've always wondered what the hell bass was used on gas lighting abbie, as I absolutely love the sound. Thought I may as well ask on here lol.
  8. Sorry if this has been asked before but is there anyway of uploading audio files on to here? , just thought it would be great to share a couple of recordings with my old band etc with my Kramer.

    ESP 6 String
there seems to be quite a few people out there after a competitively priced 6 string at the moment. perhaps youd be kind enough to do a review for the forum?
I could certainly try and give it a go, not something I've done before though, I'll have a look through some other reviews when I get 5 to get an idea and try and write one, any particular info thats useful?.

    ESP 6 String
Is this the B-206? Tempted it by it.
No mate this is the B406sm I think the 206 is bolt on instead of neckthrough and doesn't have the EMG pups, other than that I think they're the same though.

    ESP 6 String
That ESP looks great. How are you finding having to deal with 2 extra strings ?
Its been alright so far, it seems a lot easier to get around than I imagined, I'm making more use of the Low B than the C but that will come, its really comfortable to play though and to be honest I'm preferring the width of the neck compared to my 4 string warwick, I dont know if thats me being a bit odd but I tend to find the warwick neck to be a bit skinny.

    ESP 6 String
ah sweet, i saw that one in soundcheck, was tempted to try it myself, how is it? lovely spalt maple top
Lol thats where I got it from, its a really really good bass you should go and try one, amazing to play and the sound is top notch I expected it to sound pretty average against my warwick but once you get it cranked up its up there with it if I'm honest which isn't bad to say that the Esp is 3 times cheaper than the warwick new

    ESP 6 String

Here's my latest addition, ESP LTD 6 string. I am honestly shocked at how good it is for the money, my first venture from 4 strings. My current line up
  14. No more Zons?, I have a great idea, and by great I mean slightly selfish. We could all put money together to buy me a Zon and then I can post pics up on here, I'd be ever so happy Yay!!. No? oh ok

I've had a bit of a think and change of heart and have decided to hang on to the Kramer until my Brother can afford it as he really wants it, so am now withdrawing it.
  16.
I'd want it to come with James Jamerson for that price.
I'd want it to come with Jenna Jamerson at that price lol
  17. I can't believe this is still here and not long gone, your price now is only £75 more than I paid for my Streamer Jazzman, when I brought mine they had a bass like this one and it was going for near on twice the price that I paid for mine. Have a bump on me.
  18. Is there no love for the Claypool or Mr Smalls? lol. Here are a couple of pics that I like.
  19. May as well add mine while I'm here lol, I'll get some better pics at some point.
  20. It's ok for me as I know I can not even come close to affording one lol. Want to see more though, the on posted so far is luuurvely.
What's the deal with the baddass bridge. I've been slammed for having one on mine. Yours looks fine (just like mine). These Basses are great sounding. Snap it up some one, you won't regret it.
I don't know, I know mine and a lot of the others came with a badass bridge, they're great bridges I think a lot of people fitted them to basses as a aftermarket jobbie but Kramer seemed to put them on some of their models as standard, they're not cheap to buy either separately lol.
  22.
By the way, the Italian one on ebay went for £859. Cheers Mark
Makes mine seem a bargain lol
  23. I had a look through and noticed there's no thread for Zon bass's. I've not got one but love the look of them so thought I would start a thread. Please post your Zon basses on here for me to drool over.
  24. Its a shame you don't live closer you could of come round and had a play on mine to get an idea of what they sound and feel like and get an idea of the weight as I imagine the XL24 would sound fairly similar so you'd have an idea of what your dealing with.
  25.
Thanks, ape. I saw yours -- but I'm really after the other body shape. Is the neck really heavy, then? You'd expect aluminium to be light. Cheers Mark
Aluminium is light but its a great big lump of it so definitely not lighter than wood lol, mine is fairly heavy but I've never really found it to be a problem and I don't use a padded strap, the neck dive is bad though to the point where if you took your hand off of the neck its going pretty much straight to the floor lol
