1. No worries, let me know when you've got some cash sorted if it's still here :-) , yeah it's a gorgeous colour and even better in the flesh, the range of sounds you can get are fantastic too
2. Hi sorry, no trades at the sec, I'm only getting rid due to lack of use, if I was using one a lot I'd just keep the Warwick lol but with me not gigging or anything at the minute I' just going to stick to my less fancy used and abused Ibanez. Replied to your PM Simon.
3. What you both got against blue? :-p , sand it down lol
4. Forgot to mention as well, I've sold a 6 string previously to a moderator on here and a bass amp to another nice chap, I'm sure if you ask them they'll tell you I'm a good honest chap.
5. The time has finally come to sell my lovely Warwick, I'm not having as much time to play now days so for now just going to stick to my old battered Ibanez, I'm after £600 for it collected. People are welcome to come and look and try, it's a fantastic looking and sounding bass but not being used as much so could use the funds. It's in really good condition other than being a bit shiny on the wax/oil coat where my fingers have rubbed ( not worn though just shiny). Comes with gold hardware and a set of Optima gold strings on it to compliment the rest of the gold (not that I have OCD or anything lol). Here's some pics and am happy to try and answer any questions. I won't post though sorry, I never have time and would worry about transit. Ooh forgot to mention it comes with a Warwick gig bag.
6. To be honest I know posting would be better for most but I have nothing to send it in and wouldn't have a clue on postage. Will respond to the couple that have sent me messages.
7.
Ape - is that an upside down Korg G1 there in the background?
Well spotted it is indeed lol
8. Oook it's time to sell my Markbass amp as it's not really getting used a great deal at the minute and I could do with freeing up some cash. I'm after £450 for it as it's not had any heavy use and is in great condition other than the black carpet going a bit a bit bobbly, (still has the sticker on the front saying who tested the amp lol). Obviously this is collection only, it's fantastic sounding amp and always surprised sound engineers with how loud it is with it being so small. I've included some pics of when it was very newto get an idea but can obviously take more if needed to show it with its bobbly carpet ( I think one of those clothes bobble remover things would sort it out to be honest and would look like new again). Had a moderator buy a 6 string ESP from me a good few months ago who will confirm I'm a good egg lol. Any questions feel free to ask.
9. Now sold, I hope the new owner has muchos fun with it, its a cracking bass
10. Well one last bump I think and then I'm going to give up
11. Just a quick bump - these boards seem to move pretty fast now days
12. OK final price drop now as I need it to go if its going, final price drop to £400 absolutely no offers lower than that though, if it doesn't sell for that I'd rather keep it as it was an amazing bass for the first price I put it up for.
13. Daily bump, these sale threads sure move quickly now days, I am open to offers close to the asking price by the way.
14. This is probably a stupid question but I'm going to ask anyway, is there anywhere I can try a Wal close ish to me does anyone know, I live in Mansfield/Notts, I've always loved the sound and wondered if I would get along with one so would love to have a play. I probably couldn't afford one anyway so would kind of hope I don't get on with it and it puts me off rather than me considering selling vital organs lol
15.
Oh well, someone's gonna get a nice bass... Good luck with the sale mate.
Cheers mate, thought I would give it a bit of a bump. I'll sort out string spacing and weight etc at the weekend or during the week if I get time, if anyone needs to know in the mean time though and are properly interested I'll get the details for them sooner.
16.
Take it it's only cash you're interested in, not trades? Shame; great looking bass.
It is mate, I need the cash unfortunately, if I was going to have 2 basses this one wouldn't be going as its fantastic.
17. These pages move quickly, just a quick bump, I will try and find answers to questions later.
18.
String spacing? any idea of the weight? how large is the neck? Cheers, beautiful bass for the money..
Very good questions lol, i shall try and get a better idea, I'm rubbish at easuring things so hopefully I'll find something online if not it'll be down to me lol, it's a lot of bass for the money, to be fair it's got a clearer sound than my warwick, but I'm quite attached to that.
19. Well the car has cost me a bloody fortune getting it through its MOT so its time to let my 6 string bass go I think. I'm after 500 quid collected, it sounds even better than it looks and is brilliant to play, at the sec though I'm not in a band and only need the one bass, the newer version that's replaced it with exactly the same spec is 1k and mine is spotless, not a mark. It's got fantastic sound and plays brilliantly See spec and pics below Spec is: Neck-Thru-Body 35” Scale Mahogany Body Spalted Maple Top 5 Pc Maple/Walnut Neck Rosewood Fingerboard 54mm Standard Nut Thin U Neck Contour 24 XJ Frets Black Hardware Hipshot Tuners Hipshot Bridge EMG 45TW ( / 45P6 (N) Active p.u. w/ EMG B64 3-Band Active EQ w/ Push-Pull Coil Tap on Volume (Bridge p.u.) Finish: NS

ESP 406-SM

Hi, hmmm well Ok how to start this lol. I've not done any kind of review before so you will have to bare with me but was suggested by another forum member that I write one for this bass with people looking for a cheap 6 string bass. Well I guess the first thing that struck me with this bass (and yes I know its a little shallow) was the looks, nickel hardware and a lovely spalted maple top, I was looking for a 6 string to try so went into a music shop in Notts and asked to try a 5 string yamaha and the ESP, now I know pbviously the Yamaha was only a 5 string but I thought I'd at least get a general feel for it and know how it sounds, I cna't remember the model of the yamaha but know it was about £350. I played the Yamaha and was not at all impressed I couldn't get a tone out of it that I liked it just seemed very flat so then onto the ESP well I plugged in and was blown away it was exceptionally easy to play for a 6 string seeing as I've never had a 5 string before let alone a 6 and the quality of sound was fantastic, so I obviously gave it back to the man in the shop took a deep breath and asked how much it was he went to go and find out while I stood waiting expecting him to come back and say about £1100 so I could leave it alone and not buy something new. However when he came back and told me £650 I knew I had to buy it, I thought there had been some kind of mistake in honesty so went and did some research and by accident found it cheaper on their own website at £600 so obviously talked the shop into letting me pay that for it. After taking it out for the first time to a gig through my mark bass amp and with some volume it just got better. So no after my rambling what I can I tell you about it, well unfortunately I can't find the specs anymore for the bass as it looks like it has been superseded by the b416sm which looks identical to me with a higher price tag but of course could be wrong, what I can tell you is that it is a 24 fret, 35" scale, neck through body with which looks like walnut stringers, rosewood fingerboard, nickel coloured hardware, EMG pickups and a 3 band active EQ. It has a fairly flat fingerboard from feel, and the neck is very thin which is just as well, it feels well balanced and doesn't seem to be a bad weight for a 6 string. Sound wise it has a very clear hifi like tone that I really like very different from my warwick, it tends to have a bit of growl too it still but is crystal clear on every note even higher up on the neck and cuts through the mix really really well. It's all really well put together and made, infact if I had to pick fault the only things I could say I don't like about the bass are cosmetic which would be the truss rod cover just looks a bit cheap and nasty to me compared to the rest of the bass and I hate the 12th fret being a big block of mother of pearl with B406SM stamped in it. Well that's it for me I think, I hope its been of some use rather than me just babbling on, its been the first review I've written so any questions please feel free to ask as I'm sure I've probably missed loads out, oh and any feedback or critisicm (constructive though please, I don't want youtube style feedback lol) would be welcome.
