1. not sure if there have been any recent threads re. this - BUT, can anyone recommend any good uns? It's for a passive Yamaha BBN5 - looking for something with vintage feel, have trawled through various brands, and can see plenty for 4 string, but struggling to identify viable pups that do the 5 string thing thanks for any help
2. I did a part ex with him about two years ago - he's a good guy - and a player himself
3.
Looks like I might be selling my Fender Jazz to a Finnish BC'er. By complete coincidence I will be flying to Helsinki on business next week so there is the option that I bring the bass with me and meet the BC'er concerned to hand over.
That's a pretty hefty tour schedule Clarky - wasn't it Denmark and Sweden the other week? It's the big push to 'break' Scandanavia yeah?
4. the wonders of basschat!!! thanx man that's exactly what I'm after
5. can anyone recommend any digital doo das that are good for plugging into and just noodling to a drum track with - I'm not talking anything majorly expensive. I used to have a Boss BR600 which was an 8 track recorder with stacks of drum patterns on that was cool for this and I regret selling it. - alternatively, are there any software packages with drum loops/patterns that i can buy and install on a Mac Pro? Thanks for any info
6. power to you mate - horrible thing to have to do but you're selling a bit of yourself in all of these so that's a good buy in my book
7. the pups on my roadworn are rich and throaty and i have no probs with them being MIM
8. bump for this - i've got the sunburst version - really good bass, swift and fruity feeling neck with very playable action you won't be disappointed
9. can I be be frank, sorry, but your pics at the moment make it really hard for me to lust in any meaningful way after this bass!! I note you said they were too big - can you export them them from your image hoster at a different size, so they'll load, and maybe get some better ones up that show the guitar as a whole - maybe adjust the exposure also?
10. is the ampeg head still a valve one?
11.
My advice would be to order a Sandberg and ask them to wire it passive. They'll do that right away. Something a lot of people don't seem to know is that you can even choose what pick-ups you want in there. For £1000 you could probably have a passive jazz, with the pick-ups you desire, in any color you want AND you just know the quality will be superb. Maybe you could even have a matching headstock or blocks if you fancy that?
this sort of approach interests me, but who do you actually contact re. things like this? ie. there's no obvious dialogue to be had on the Sandberg website - is it through the approved dealers?
12. cheers guys, keep it coming - LawrenceH - how did you find the neck on the J - I read one review that it's described as a slim neck but is actually quite thick??
13.
Grinderman/Nick Cave was the best thing by a long way for me (although Scissor Sisters were occasionally fun) - the show needed something feral & demented to counterbalance the po-faced, sickly aural gloop that the rest of it was. Just awful. Jon.
great name for a band!
14. oh yeah sorry, is the Classic series US or MIM?
15. got you - yes I'd agree with that. Until recently, I thought I preferred a P neck, but I think that's because I started playing originally a P - But I have taken to Jazz basses suddenly, really enjoying their necks - altho the Nash I have has a pretty thick neck, not unlike a P!
16.
I used to rave about these on the old Bassworld forum 6yrs ago. I think they are generally amazing. Watch out for the vintage spec on the necks etc but if you like that sort of thing (I do, some don't) then you can't go too far wrong
how do you mean re. the spec?
17. Anyone got any opinions on this range? I get lost tbh about what series is what? There's a truckload of the Classic Series for sale at Coda-Music -
18. it's a nice airport tho - as far as airports go
19.
One on ebay at the moment. Looks very nice, but I've no idea what its worth? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=260666563375
there's two of these for sale here http://www.nicksguitars.com/basses.htm
