1. Could you let me know if you decide to post, or are ever down south Wales area? Cheers
2. Start slow. Really slow. What makes someone sound good when they are playing slap is how "neat" they are. No open strings ringing, and notes starting and finishing when they are meant to. Start with a song that plays mostly octaves, start slow, and build up speed. Im assuming you know the basics of slap, like where to hit the string, how to position your hand? If not, id have a look on youtube. Im sure Scotts bass lessons will have something useful for you. Once you think you know where your going, I think "treasure" by Bruno Mars would probably be a good one to look at. But like i say, start slow. Get the right notes playing , when they're meant to be, then slowly build it up to tempo
3. Thats great Karl, i was looking for it actually. Thanks mate
4. Price now dropped to £700 Here are a few pictures of it: I can provide more pictures on request. This is a 1963 Precision replica made my Mark from Limelight Guitars. There is a lot of love for these on the forum, and rightly so. A fantastic bass for the money, absolutely nails the vintage sound. Alnico Pickups It has the added benefit of having a nice slim jazz shaped neck. Im only selling this as something has come up that i'd really like to get. If it sells before mine, i'll remove this. It currently has old roundwound strings on it. Thats the sound i like, but i will throw in a set of Labellas Flats if the buyer would like them. I also will include a Fender Hardcase that isnt standard issue with these basses. Trials are welcomed and encouraged!
5. Either have a '87 streamer that's awesome Slim neck though, so probably not best suited for you. Punchiest bass I've ever owned was a $$ Try one of them if you can, and if you're ever my way you're welcome to try mine out
6. Now on eBay
7. I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled in the sales section. Or if you are aware of someone who would be up for it, send them my way
8. Yeh I'd be open with a trade with someone so they can match.
9. What is the difference with the GB6.0 and 6.2? Yes they are definitely warmer than other cabs I've had
10. Weekend bump Any trade plus cash adjustments are welcomed Must be class D though
11.
Genz Shuttle and Streamliner models both work very well with the HD cabs.
I will definitely be trying to find both to have a go of
12. The Walter woods is way more than I want to spend, although it's always nice to dream. I've spoke to Pete and Brian about the other 2 you mentioned. I liked the look of both. Just a case of trying to shift what I have now to get the cash
13. Just a case of selling my SWR pre amp now, and I can start trying a few out
14. I am thinking about ringing mark to sort me out a matching jazz
15. Cheers Barrie. I do prefer not having to fiddle too much to get a sound I like. I would like to try a thunder funk, but I doubt that's going to be possible. And I don't want to buy without having a go first.
16. Great job. Can tell you've put a lot of attention to detail. Looks quality Angel. If you do decide on doing relics for others, let me know. I have just the bass in mind
17. Mmmmmmmmm. Anyone in South Wales with a Thunderfunk? Any other suggestions to try? Ive never tried a Genz, and have always fancied a dabble
18. Yeh makes sense. Definitely one to consider, my trouble might be finding one to have a play around with.
19. Which version of the Thunderfunk would you suggest? I worry the 550 may not have enough oomph? But i have no experience so could well be wrong
20. Ok, so im going to keep the Bergs i have. Feel like i was giving them away at the prices i was offering and still wasnt really getting any interest. The reason I was thinking about selling was due to weight and difference in size between the 210 and 112 i have. The sound was never the problem. Looking at the weight, they probably weigh 5kg more than what i wouldve replaced them with, so realistically, i feel i should stop whining and just lift them! So your in my position. You have a HD112 and a HD210, both with tweeters (dont know if thats standard), what amp would you run them with? The 210 is 400w @ 8 ohms and the HD112 is 350W @8ohms. The SWR pre amp i have is immense. It probably has too much on it for my liking, and is a little too large. I suffer bass related OCD!! Apparently its not as rare as i originally feared. So i want something class D really. And i plan on driving about a bit to try a few heads out and see what sounds best. Any of you have/had this set up? Any recommendations on what what sit well with the Bergs? Thanks in advance
21.
Ah, so that's where it ended up!! Is that the custom order for someone else that Mark recently had advertised on his site? Looks amazing.
It is indeed the custom order he had up on his site. Yeh, id say to keep saving. You wont be dissapointed!
22. Last Price Drop, and these will be going on EvilBay on Sunday £380 for 112 - These are £550 brand new without a cover £400 for 210 - These are £625 brand new, without a cover Both of the speakers im selling are in excellent condition, they look brand new. And both have covers which cost £50 extra. Last chance to snap them up
23. Thanks Luke Any interest???
24. That's interesting. I've been thinking about a TH. Had a go at low volume, so couldn't tell how loud it would go. Any opinions from a TH500 users?
