1.
Burgundy Mist 64 J Bass should be coming my way shortly...
Im glad, i was seriously tempted!!
2. ON HOLD
3. I havent had this too long, but its not having any use. I think a passive jazz would get more use from me. So saying that, any passive jazz trades are welcomed. Cash adjustments are fine too. Here is the original sale thread, as i think it says everything that needs saying. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/241562-sold-please-remove/page__p__2507154#entry2507154 Great bass for the money. Its not going to change the world, but i dont think you'll get much more bass for the price. The pickup is punchy, and the neck is great. Has a kind of birdseye maple effect on it. And i dont know if it matters to you, but it is a very good clone!!
4. Jamiroquai. From "The return of the space cowboy", through to "travelling without moving". I like all his stuff, but those two were his pinnacle IMO. Would have LOVED to be the bass player in those songs
5. It does. As does everyones advice. Im grateful for all the help.
6. Thanks gents. I will look into all these points at our next practice. Yes our singer has a SM58, all of us do. I agree Barkin. I cant handle feedback. Like you, id prefer to turn down more, than risk getting it.
7. 8. Great. I assumed it was probably tht they should be in front, with no monitors though i was worried about the singer not being able to hear himself. We are currently saving for a monitor, so this looks ideal. Thanks!! Any settings on the EQ that would help a little bit?
9. Also, i dont know if this is the section for this, if not, feel free to move it
10. Ok, so somehow ive ended up being in charge of setting up our bands PA now. Think i got lumped with it because im the one that ends up trying to improve levels in the mix etc. So, in all honesty, i know the basics of setting up a PA. But nothing more. In a practice, we all kind of face inwards to each other, and i have no problem getting the PA up to playing volume without any issues. When we gig however, im struggling to get the same clarity and volume without feedback. There are 4 vocals, a keyboard and a sax going into the mix Now, im guessing the reason for feedback is because we are all facing the same way, and as a result the mics are facing the speakers causing feedback? I end up trying to rectify this by turning the individual mic levels down, cutting the treble, and turning Master volume up, as far as possible without the feedback kicking in again. Im well aware, this is probably not the way to go about this, so is there anything you could advise, to help? Dont know if it makes a difference but we have a Yamaha EMX312SC PA, and Peavey infinity speakers Thanks in advance for any advice/tips
11. Cheers Marc Might be pushing the Warwick out the door
12. 4th it is then hahaha
13. Lurrrrrrrrrrvly Was it hard to find a bridge cover that was aged? Or did it come fitted Raslee?
14. Cheers guys Cosmo, id be the first to recommend. Well maybe 3rd or 4th behind Discreet and Karlfer
15. I liked it. But its all about if you like it. If you think it will improve your playing, or be good for you, thats great. But if you dont really enjoy the music, i dont see it being something long term. It gets boring quickly playing music you dont enjoy. Well i should say, i get bored quickly, playing music i dont enjoy.
16. Good luck Ive done a few and they really keep you on your toes
17. We practice once a week. That's not set in stone though. Probably end up having 3 a month. In a watts app group we agree on two or three songs in the week. Then come the weekend we just put it all together and arrange them how we want. Usually warm up with a few of the usual set too just to keep things sharp. Practice isn't a chore for us though as we are all mates before the band formed. So that may make us different to a few bands
18. Shaun told me he needed a P I obliged. Super easy deal. No fuss. As it should be. Cheers Shaun, hope you enjoy it Kert
19. Thanks Yeh i didnt think id ever be playing a vintage esque instrument, because i'd be too worred about damaging it. This is a great alternative though. As mentioned, im really happy with it!!
20. Yeh im really happy with it As most people seem to be with their Limelights! Mark is a good guy too, if i ever feel the need to get a jazz, I'll be contacting Mark

22. I thought it was. Wasnt 100% on it though. Yes i will add to the porn thread shortly
23. So ive had this for a week now. Played two gigs and had about 4 hours practice with it, so im familiar with it. Here's some terrible pictures of it: I saw it on the Limelight website, and i pretty much decided there and then that i was going to have it. If you asked me to describe my ideal bass, this wouldnt be far off. So how could i say no?!?! Lovely looking bass IMO. I was quite surprised by how accurate the relicing was. There is wear exactly in the places there would be, if i had actually used this bass since '63. Just a coincidence of where i anchor my thumb i suppose, but still, a pleasant coincidence! Feels extremely comfortable, and is pretty light. Light enough so that it doesnt bother me when playing it. One gig lasted 3 hours, and i was fine the next day. The pickups give the bass a great vintage sound to my ear. I love how slim and easy the neck is to play. Im pretty sure its a jazz shaped neck. Certainly feels like one Im so happy with it, its now my gigging bass. This is saying quite a lot for me as its ousted my '87 Warwick Streamer. All in all, couldnt be happier. Would recommend a Limelight to anyone
