1. USA all the way!
2. GayBay?
3.
THIS
Agreed. It's far better to get loads of examples. It's how you find out stuff you haven't heard before.
4.
It might be worth reading post #14 before everyone just lists their Funk favourites.
Perhaps the OP should change the title of the thread to 'Recommend me some stuff in the style of Rock Candy Funk Party' if it has to be as narrow as that.
5. This is as funky as a funky thing on funkday. http://youtu.be/mUsn880UWPQ
6. It would be handy to know what you regard as UK mainland as various couriers have different interpretations of this. It's all a wee bit confusing especially when you are many, many miles to the south west of where I live.
7. These basses should be preserved for posterity in the 'gear porn' thread.
8. A word of friendly advice. You will greatly enhance your chances of selling/trading your instrument if you post pics up here and not by email. This is especially relevant when you are a new member with no track record. Welcome to the forum and good luck with the sale!
9. What make is the neck on the tele please.
10. I agree that the issue is with the EBMM forum where absolutely no criticism of MM guitars, basses, accessories etc is tolerated. The justification is that the company is paying for it and so it is perfectly acceptable not to accept criticism. I don't have a problem with that so just regard the forum as an advertisement for EBMM and never go there.
11. Seriously my friend you're not going to sell this without some pictures.
12. I have the same bass in same colour etc. They are superb instruments and a steal at this price. Just a shame you don't have the case on such a recent instrument.
13. Does the price include shipping to the UK? If not, how much to ship the bass?
14. I've said it before so I might as well say it again. USA SUB was my first MM. I then got two Stingrays on 2eq and one 3eq. I still have the USA SUB which is my only MM. The 2eq and 3eq have gone. USA SUB all the way for me!
15. I still had it recorded from when it was on a good while ago. Liked it so much I kept it.
16. I got the 'Sonic Highways' album yesterday. Eight very nice tracks (if you like the Foos that is).
17. I also have a 2010 Jazz. These are magnificent basses and I cannot believe the price being asked here. This is a huge bargain for a beautiful mint condition bass.
18.
I do think the Subs and Sterlings are laughable efforts, tbh. Cheap and cheerful tho..
I take it that you are referring to the more recent Subs and Sterlings and not the older USA SUB basses.
19. Now I really must be daft as I have had two 4-stringer Rays and just didn't like em. Both didn't feel right in my hands and both had the weak G string. However, my USA SUB is a different matter. It feels great, sounds great and doesn't have a weak treble. I must be weird.
20. This would be a year of birth bass for me. Unfortunately, the value of my current basses together doesn't even come close to £8500. It's great to see a '57' in such great condition. Best of luck with the sale!
21. If you can stretch to it I would go for one of the newer USA Standard Jazzes (2008 on). Great basses and will always hold their value.
22.
When a 'trans Orangish' colour was mentioned I thought of a Fender colour number '22' which was Sunset Orange Transparent that was used for only a few years around 2003 / 2004 on USA Ash bodied basses. I have only ever seen the colour on one bass, a Precision that I had few a short while.............stunning looking bass as hopefully the attached shows!
Hey David! If this is you then have a big welcome to Basschat. By the way, here is a pic of my son's Sunset Orange Transparent Jazz which he now no longer owns. It started life as a USA Series bass but was converted to fretless by legendary Scottish Luthier Jimmy Moon who shaved the maple fingerboard off and added a gorgeous piece of ebony. The white scratch plate was swapped out for a black one as it matched the fingerboard very nicely.
23. I don't know if it helps but here is a pic of my son's American Series Jazz Bass and my American Standard Precision. Both are finished in butterscotch blonde.
24. It doesn't look to be in very good condition. There is also only one pic. Who knows what other issues this bass may have. This may be a fair price.
25. Wow! That is a marvellous looking bass. Congratulations on having the patience to wait and achieve your dream bass.
