Any chance of sound clips?

Boss SYB-3 boxed in like new condition, just the sticker missing from the bottom that sets it apart from a new one. It's a great sounding pedal, I just don't use it at all. No velcro. TRADED Boss BF-2 (Taiwan). Great condition, no velcro. No box. Boss CS-1. This thing is about 30 years old. Great condition considering it's age. In great working order. Again, no velcro or box. DOD Ice Box, my favourite chorus. Not much of a fan of chorus at the moment. Great condition, boxed, no velcro. I may also be willing to part with my Foxrox Octron for the right deal. Again an amazing pedal but it doesn't get much use. Great condition, no velcro. No box though unfortunately. Looking for something different so PM me with any offers, the worst I can do is say no. International shipping is no problem for me . I may withdraw a couple of these soon, so please don't be offended if I do. Cheers, AJ

This is great. I really hate the PM for price style threads. It really winds me up.

Making your own cables and using wire strippers
gnasher1993 replied to TDM's topic in Accessories and Misc
Wire strippers won't really work. You probably would be best with the swiss army knife because you want to strip each conductor layer separately. Watch this video, it's a great demo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smg68qgJa-I
I'm sick of all my cheap leads breaking and I want to make some nice ones to use. I've got the soldering side of things covered (admittedly I'm not great at it) but stripping wires is extremely unpleasant, especially since all I have is a swiss army knife. Will something basic like this work for stripping coaxial guitar leads?
-
1) How long have you been playing Bass Guitar/String Bass for or both? Electric - 2 years. Upright - 1 year 2) If you don’t play string bass/bass guitar have you thought of doubling up on either to get more recognition as a bass player? I double on both. 3) Who are your favourite exponents of both string bass/bass guitar? Electric - Kai Echkardt, Anthony Jackson, Rocco Prestia Upright - Paul Chambers, Ron Carter, Dave Holland 4) Do you think that both the bass guitar and string bass are important as bass instruments? Yes, very much so. 5) What genres do you think are important for bass players to listen to? I think all musicians should absorb as much music as possible. I mainly get my inspiration (as a bassist) from jazz. 6) Do you think electric guitarists can learn to play bass guitar more than string bass? I think most guitarists could fumble there way around with a bass guitar, no problem. Upright however, different story. 7) Do you think bass can be used to solo as well as accompany other instruments? Why not? It's been done before and I think there's more to come. 8) Do you think it is important to learn to sight read? In my experience, it definitely helps. 9) What do you think of bass guitars such as 5 string/6 string e.g. as being an add-on to the bass players role? My upright is a 5 string but I only play 4 string electrics at the moment. I don't have anything against extended range...whatever the player needs. 10) What are your opinions on electric upright basses as a substitute for the string bass? Technique wise, no problems. Sound wise, I don't think an EUB can compare to an acoustic upright. 11) What is the best amp to use for bass guitar or string bass? Subjective to each player's desired sound. I use a GB Shuttle 3.0 w/ 8" cab. 12) What pickups for string bass are the best for capturing the natural tone of the instrument? Again, subjective. I use a Shadow.
I've played just about everything except funk, not that I have any kind of problem with funk I've just never really played it. Nope not a fretless player, I have a Cort Artisan A5, if that means anything to you lol... Not dismissing the nova repeater by any means, just not particularly the area I was planning on looking at, but getting some discussion on the matter was exactly what I was looking for. On this though, how does the Akai Headrush (2) compare to the TC in your opinion? I assume you own one of the nova repeaters?
I'm using a Pharaoh Echo Jr. at the moment but the guitarist in my band uses the Nova Repeater and it's got lots of features. It's really versatile and sounds really great. I've got the Akai Headrush E2 on my Christmas list so won't be able to compare until the new year sadly. I think I may prefer the Headrush as it has the looping feature. I also find flanger is a really usable effect. I use a Boss BF-2.

I'm a massive fan of delay on bass. Guessing you're not into reverb either . Do you play fretless? A chorus could be cool if you do. The Digitech/Hardwire CR7 is really good. What kind of music do you play?
-
I'd suggest a delay or some kind of modulation. Maybe the TC Electronics Nova Repeater
A 12 string is normally 0 +1 +1 surely? As per the first post.
I was talking in terms of guitar, as in that video
How ironic . . . Check out 3:44. It's a guitar, I know, but you could be onto something, Gnasher . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vMfJXG-F6A Mark
That's pretty cool actually. He says it 'simulates a 12 string bass' but he has: -1 0 +1 Isn't a 12 string bass -1 0 0?

You could try Micro POG + chorus Then you'd get the 8ve up and the warble you would d get from the pair of octave strings.

Boss Digital Dimension DC-3 pedal. Decent chorus pedal?
gnasher1993 replied to dave_bass5's topic in Effects
I've always fancied trying a DC-3. I'm using a DOD Ice Box at the moment. Not sure how the DC-3 compares if I'm honest. I don't know much about chorus pedals... -

I wouldn't mind checking out the tremolo.
