1. I bought a Ritter RG3000 bass gig bag two weeks ago from Reidy's (http://www.reidys.com/index.pl?submit=View_PLU&PLU=10187) and would like to either trade this gig bag for a different gig bag (no Ritter's please! Warwick Deluxe gig bag preferred.) Basically I received the gig bag and thought the neck was abit tight with no space for my basses (My Rickenbacker jazz bass copy just managed to fit in there but when I tried my Ibanez ATK300, one of the machineheads stuck out on the side after zipping up the gig bag) I thought I'd leave it for abit and see if the gig bag stretches but it's still too tight in there for my basses to be honest. Is anyone up for a gig bag trade (could put abit of money if you have something more expensive than the Ritter) or Does anyone want to take this off my hands for £20? (Bought new from Reidy's for £35 inc. postage and this is the cheapest price in the whole of the Internet realm.) The gig bag itself is totally mint with no wears or tears. Here's the full specs. of it on the Ritter website: http://www.ritter-bags.com/revolution.html I can post the gig bag (for an extra £5) or welcome collection. I'm in West London if collecting. Cheers! - E
2. *GASP!* I would certainly be interested in prices... I have nothing to trade *sob*
3. I can't believe this bass is still here! A brilliant bargain! Whoever buys this bass should feel like they're also buying abit of history on Bass Chat! Maybe chucking in the 7 pages of replies in a nice hard back book would be well worth it

7. So I just sold my massive Marshall combo and looking to get a smaller combo. In one corner I have an Ampeg BA-112 which I can get for under £200 but it's only 50 watts but I've heard the Ampeg sound is to die for! In the other corner I have an Ashdown EB 12-180 EVO II which I can get for about £220 and it's a massive 180 watts (if I add an external cab as well but 130-ish on it's own?) In terms of tone/sound wise and construction, which one is the better out of the two? I've read quite equal reviews and they both seem equally as good as each other. I'll only be using the amp for bedroom practice with no carpets (I have floorboards) and my room is quite spacious too. I will also might think about DI'ing the amp to record as well so transporting is some what important to get into my car. Might run down to Denmark Street during my lunch break this week to see if any shops has the amp but first I want to get your opinions
8. Thanks for the clearup guys! Was head scratching why on earth would my action not be lower after adjusting 2 weeks ago. I shall adjust the proper way and keep this in mind for future!
9.
No, the truss rod's job is to counteract the tension placed on the neck by the strings. If you loosen the truss rod, this allows the strings to pull more relief. You need to tighten up the truss rod to lessen the relief.
So in effect, turning the rod left will increase the bow on the neck (upwards) but turning it right, will loosen the neck (downwards). Seems confusing (to me it does) when 'righty tighty, lefty loosey" is said as i assumed tight = bow foward, loose = bow back. Also... my Ibanez ATK truss rod is on the heel of the neck, does the same rules apply by turning left = pull more relief, turning right = loosen relief?
10.
I think the new strings are a touch heavier - it'd been so long since it'd been restrung I had no idea what gauge was on previously, otherwise I'd have rebought the same. Now I think about it - heavier strings would have a higher tension, putting more relief in to the neck and thus making the truss rod need a tighten. Cheers guys
When you put a heavier set of strings on, yes it'll give the neck more tension thus bowing the neck forward... but aren't you meant to loosen the neck? ie: bowing the neck backwards by turning the truss rod to the left... so it's lefty loosey = countering the tension from the neck from being pulled by the heavier strings.... Someone correct me if im wrong...

Bad paint job

It's heartbreaking looking at the pictures! A pretty bass with a shoddy paint job!
