1.
In my opinion this bass beats a Jazz any day. You're going to loose quite a lot of money on this so it's a shame that you don't get on with it and feel intimidated by the options...... you shouldn't be. I let myself get scared by the EQ options on an Eden WT amp once. I didn’t realise that “flat” can be the best way. I’ll always regret not buying that amp, so my advice is just because you can change something doesn't mean that you should. I run my Lakland flat with a small amount (2 clicks) of bass added. It doesn't need any more tweaking than that!
I know and I'm prepared to let it go for a jazz bass. Hopefully I wouldn't have to add additional £££ to fund the jazz bass so it'll pretty much be a direct swap I hope I've tried the flat option and then tweaking here and there (as Simon1964 mentioned) but there's just something lacking from the jazz basses I've played... it's just something about Lakland tone that get's me all worked up when trying to find exactly something I like. I've played jazz basses and I can get what I want no problem, but with the Lakland I have to do that extra mile I'm not knocking the capabilities of the Lakland, just that it's not my cup of tea after all unfortunately *sobs* Maybe it's the pickups? Maybe it's the pre-amp? I just don't know what it is but I just feel more comfortable with a jazz imo
2.
If you sell why not have a look at THE active Jazz that is for sale on these fine pages.
There are some really nice looking jazz basses on this forum that I'd love to get my hands but I've decided to go down the edwards route (sub-brand of ESP Japan) Oh and just to let you all know, I have sold two basses here before (check my thread on my Ibanez SR505 and BTB405) and both basses have been well received Ideally I prefer a collection to save the 'middleman'
3.
This is like EXACTLY the bass I need. Also need another £800
*does the come here index finger movement* you know you want it... you know you can't resist Thanks for the comment OutToPlayJazz. Truely is an amazing bass! i initially wanted the Cherryburst finish as I didn't like the finish on the 3TS when I saw them online but Lakland said I have to wait 6 months for a Cherryburst finish So I decided to bite the bullet and go for 3TS and oh boy! I didn't regret it! Looks 1000% better (yes 1000!) in person! Too bad there's too much to fiddle around with on this beast

5. Thanks for the replies! Warmoth body with a mighty mite neck sounds yummy I must say! Can anyone confirm where Mighty Mite necks are made? I actually owned an SX bass a few years ago... the neck was horrible though so I guess I received a lemon? So if I would have the same story in future, I'd love to change the neck and perhaps put my own custom decal on a MM neck
6. I always liked DSL straps from Australia =) www.dslstraps.com.au There are a few UK retailers that stock these and a few on e-bay. I bought one of their purple coloured suede backing straps which solved my neck diving problems *thumbs up*
7. So can anyone confirm if a Mighty Mite neck can fit on an SX jazz body? Thanks

11. Oh and will also throw in a Warwick Aluminium Rockcase for the pedal as well as it's original box. I will shut up now
12. I will consider trading this for a Line 6 POD XT Live (guitar version only) as well plus some cash if your XT Live is in mint condition like the RP500. Cheers!
13. Hi all, I've decided to sell my mint condition (newly bought this year), full boxed with manuals and CD Digitech RP500 multi-effects guitar pedal. These retail at about £220 - £250? I'm willing to let it go for £170 ONO? I'm selling this pedal because I simply cannot get along with it... I think I prefer single use pedals instead where I can step, step and presto! instead of step, adjust knobs... step on wrong knob... and the size is awkward to carry around for me as well. I've heard great things about this pedal which is why I purchased it and it blows the Line 6 multi-effects pedals out of the water? I had owned a Line 6 2.0 POD in the past and the RP500 is definately better but more confusing to operate IMO... think if you have the time to actually sit down for a few hours to go through everything about this pedal board then you'll get along fine with this. You can even directly connect the pedal board to your PC/laptop to record directly. A CuBase LE is included too. [Will post pictures tonight perhaps] I'm in London so collection is welcome or £10 to post will do me thinks http://www.digitech.com/products/multi-effects/RP500.php Thanks all
14. Looks like you got good weather up there in your papparazi picture of the UPS man Raining meatballs here argh! (wouldn't mind if it was really raining meatballs tho!) *twiddles thumbs* Tell us what bass you have
15.
I too am having major issues over a bass I paid four figures for...................... The action was that high I didn't know whether to play it, or fire arrows with it! Paint finish on the front of the body is very ripply Heavy orange peel on the side of the neck Small chip of wood missing out the fret board Finish was still soft (first time I attempted to play it, it left an imprint of my jeans in the finish)! I have just sent a fairly lengthy e-mail to the manufacturer of this bass, outlining the above issues, and that I find it totally unacceptable. I will decline to name and shame at the moment, until I get some resolution on the above. I have recieved a prompt reply. Bitterly dissappointed considering I have 2 basses that I paid around £200 for that are better finished In today's age, I expect perfection when I hand over a huge wad of cash for something, especially when the manufacturers website makes a huge deal about how carefully they select their woods, and the stringent quality control processes that each guitar goes through, at each stage of the build. I see no evidence of this in my bass..............
Whoa! What's the brand of this bass if you don't mind sharing? I'll make sure that I'll do more research on this brand if they have something interesting in future.
16. Got some updates guys! I received another 44-02 today! Nick is such a great guy! He told me yesterday that they can send a new 44-02 out, I would get it today and in return the delivery guy will collect the other 44-02 and take it back to Headline. Came home from work today and immediately saw the new bass I opened it and to my surprise..... I received one that's made in Korea instead of Indonesia which was where the 1st one was made from. So I took it out and it's absolutely perfect! No more dings and the neck screw is screw angle is straight ^_^ I'm a chuffed owner I say! Although I must say... the maple fretboard on the 1st 44-02 was nicer than this one because the grain was so nice it nearly looked like birdseye maple as opposed to the current one I have looking abit more plainer. For those who care... Upon having the chance to play both Indonesian and Korean 44-02's... there really isn't much difference apart from the cosmetic minor flaws that came with the 1st bass. If I played both basses without looking at the country of origin, I wouldn't be able to tell from the sound, feel and playability which one is which
17. T-cut worked wonders for me Be sure to mask off the fretboard though before you scrub away with anything!
18. I do agree on it's like a hit or miss with no blemishes on expensive instruments. I guess the sole reason why I'm being nitpicky is it's my first time spending £1,000+ on a bass. Maybe if I have more years of experience buying more expensive instruments (good thing I don't have a credit card!) I will learn to be less demanding and come to terms on nothing is perfect especially with the world of mass produced instruments? I just rang Headline music and spoke to Nick who has been a great help throughout the order of my 44-02 (As well as Gary at Promenade Music!) and Nick has agreed to exchange for another 44-02. I asked him to inspect the new one before it gets sent out to me to avoid the same thing happening so just waiting for him to call me back
19. Cheers for the replies all! I think im going to get another one as I was just checking the bass again and decided to give the bass a nice wipe and damn.... the paint on the blemished part of the bass flaked off as I wiped over that area! It was a flat blemish before but now it's a dent! grrr! As for the neck screw.... I took the neck off and the screw isn't bent... it's the hole that the circular washers fit to to surround the screw that has been drilled bent thus making the screw bent!
20.
Just wait until the first time you lean it against your cab ... and it falls over. You can stop worrying about the finish then.
Oh I'm really careful I have never ever leaned my bass against a cab before... I've always either put it back into my gig bag or put it in securely on a chair... Maybe I'm just abit TOO careful
21. To be honest... the positive outweighs the negative by far... I mean this bass just looks amazing in person... I was abit skeptical looking at pictures on the net for a 3-tone sunburst but once I see it in person... it's definately 100 times better in real life! Even though the positive outweighs the negative... when I'm playing the bass, im still thinking about the darn screw and the tiny blemish at the back of my mind Musicman20... ouch! with all those fault on the natural USA jazz... I would complain no questions asked But the Lakland isn't as close to what you experienced with the Fender...
22.
If you arent happy.. send it back. If you bought a Ferarri and it had orange peel paint, you wouldnt accept it would you? I think if you are spending that sort of money, it should be perfect. It shouldnt even leave the factory if bolts arent straight.
I agree but I can't help but feel somewhat stupid/silly that I'm complaining about a small dot and a bent screw
