1. I just received a new 44-02 today and it sounds and plays like I've won the lottery! I'd recommend any Lakland as much as the above posters =)
 2. Hi guys! For those who have bought expensive basses (£800+ is expensive imo) did you expect the bass to be perfect and to your satisfaction with 110% perfect build/construction quality with not even the slightest smallest blemish? Would you phone up the retailer and say you want to return/exchange the bass because you spotted a really small unnoticeable blemish on your bass? Or perhaps you noticed one of the screws that bolts the body and neck together (if it's a bolt-on bass) is screwed in at a slight angle and not straight down? Well... here's my story... I received a new Lakland Skyline 44-02 from Headline music today (the distributors of Lakland in UK) which is a piece of find timber and plays like butter... lovely grain on the body and neck! HOWEVER there are two things that just kinda bugs me (mainly because I spent a hell of alot of a money on this bass). I noticed one of the neck screws on heel is screwed in at an angle. If you look straight down at the bass, it doesn't seem bad... but if you look at the back of the bass at a slight angle, you can see the screw has a bent on it at about 10 degrees? Also there is a really small pin size blemish on he heel of the neck as well. I really don't mean to be picky but this is the first time I'm spending £1,000+ on a new bass so I do kinda expect it to be 110% perfect =/ Am I just a picky nutcase or are these a good enough reason to actually exchange for another? Thanks all!

 4.
I'm looking to move on my Sansamp BDDI. My present set up means I never have cause to use it. I have owned this from new from around 4 years ago, with light gigging a few years back but mostly home use since. It is in excellent condition with box and manual. £100.00 posted. Paypal, cheque (or cash on collection if you're in the South Wales area).
PM'ed!
 5.
The closest thing I can think of is a Rickenbacker - but you'll have to bypass the 3 way switch (wire the pickup output direct to the pot in question as if the switch wasn't there) and the stereo/mono jack stuff (just join both outputs from the two volume pots to the hot output of the jack). http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wirin...ic=rickenbucker
Excellent! Cheers for the pointers! Making it a usable x2 volume and x2 tone pots electronics seems like a headache I did think about using the Rickenbacker diagrams to by-pass the pickup selector and even a Gibson diagram but hmmmm.... it's all abit fiddly for me soldering an extra tone pot when I just turn up the tone for both pickups anyway... Im edging to go for just a V-V-T config. to save time (and also less chances of me messing up the soldering) The seymour duncan standard jazz diagrams are simple enough to follow and it gives me a master tone control (leaving the extra tone pot as a dummy) over both pickups anyway. What are the advantages of having V-V-T-T compared to just a standard V-V-T anyway?
 6. Hey guys! So I just received a pair of seymour duncan pickups yesterday in the post to replace the stock pickups in my existing bass At the moment, my bass is wired to a x2 volume pots (one for each pickup) and x2 tone pots (also one for each pickup). I searched this forum and others to find a wiring diagram for this config but it doesn't exist in basses? The closest diagram there is the Fender 60's diagram of stacked volume and tone pots for each pickup but im not looking to do any stacked pots on my bass. Now... im starting to think it's quite impossible to do this config. because at the moment with my stock electronics, each tone pot doesn't actually control each pickup on my bass If I turn down one tone pot, the other pickup turns off as well and if I turn up the other tone pot... both pickups tone are turned up. At first I thought it was a wiring problem with the bass but I left it alone as it didn't bother me anyway and i just turn up all the volume and tone pots when playing anyway... but now im starting to think the bass was wired like that for a reason obviously... Also I heard two tone pots doesn't really give me any kind of added benefit or flexibility anyway, is this true? I'm thinking maybe i should just wire the bass like a standard jazz bass to get rid of this headache of just 2 volumes and a master tone for both pickups and leave one tone pot as a dummy/useless? After all... im going to get a EBS Microbass II or a Sansamp paradriver to sort out any tone problems soon (if someone decides to sell me theirs! )

 12.
Is there any chance you could post this?
Sorry mate, strictly collection only or I can arrange a meet-up in London because I really don't trust courier companies dealing with this bass - just incase they screw it up so i just like to play it safe here.
 13.
Thomann?
Indeed! I bought one from Thomann 2 weeks ago. Excellent double gig bag! Very study and the wheels are great! Only drawback is its very heavy carrying two basses on your back and you will look stupid so best thing is to drag it on the floor making use of the wheelsm - but then I found when dragging it, the only handle to hold it is at the back of the gig bag so it's abit awkward imo... I think a handle would of been better if it was at the topside of the gig bag

 15. Hey guys! I have a question about 5-string basses that popped into my head a few mins ago which I can't seem to find the answer to... For those who have 4-string basses and 5-string basses... If you can play alternative tunings with a 5-string bass in standard (Im always hearing if you play drop C#, you should use a 5-string), then why bother owning a 4-string bass when the 5-string bass can playing in 3 tunings without turning the machineheads? Like in my band, we play standard tuning, drop D and drop C# (maybe even drop B in future) and if I just change the notes around using a 5-string bass for songs I've written already with a 4-string bass say in... drop C#, then I can play these 3 tunings by just simply keeping my 5-string bass in standard tuning. Do people own a 4-string bass as well just for the sake of it? Or just for the reason of not having the Low B string in the way when you want to play standard with the other 4-strings? Discuss
 16. bumping as the bass is back up for sale (see the first post of this thread)
