1. Hey guys Is anyone shocked that the Ibanez IDGB5 double gig bass is not in stock anywhere in the UK? I placed an order at DV247 on Monday and got a reply saying their next shipment is in stock January 2010!!! So i cancelled my order with them and phoned http://www.wmcmusic.co.uk/accessories/case...z-idgb5-bk.html making sure they have it in stock but they don't have any and said should be getting some in next month. I ran a further google search and Dolphin music doesn't even stock these anymore and other places only sell the guitar version arghh! I want one of these gig bags for two of my basses to go to a studio next sunday and I might be taking the tube there in a one hour journey Don't really fancy carrying two gig bags around tbh lol On Thomann, it says in their stock level they have them in stock but I dropped them an email yesterday to make sure they do have one in stock but no reply yet. Does anyone know anywhere else I can get one from? (And I will not order from the states because it'll take too long lol)

  4.
You sold the BTB!? MADNESS!!!
I really couldn't get used to the chunky neck on a 5-string Maybe if I had a 4-string BTB, it would be easier but man... my left hand felt like an 8 yrs old hand on the BTB hahah! (And I have quite long fingers too!)
These are fabulous basses for the money. I think if I was starting again I'd buy a couple of these and have done with it; I'd have saved myself thousands. Oh and yes, looks like wenge/bubinga to me.
Oh yes, oh yes! This SR505 is by far the best 5 string bass i've played! I owned the SR405, SR485, SR885, SR645 and BTB405 in the past and the sound and comfort of the neck is the best out of all the SR's I've played!

    Deep Thought

Mike bought my Gotoh bridge. Speedy transaction and very prompt payment as he says before buying. Definately recommended!
  6. Bumpity bump... Anyone else have a 4-string active bass up for grabs? Just to give you guys a clear idea of what im looking for in most wanted order: Fender active deluxe jazz or precision or any other Fender active bass Ibanez SR Schecter Spector Ibanez ATK Warwick G&L ESP Ltd Active basses only please.
  7. Cheers for the comments all! The SR505 truely is a masterpiece, shame after really getting into playing this bass that the low B string doesn't get used that much =/ Stingraysean, you have PM.
  8. hehe thanks all! But before I sell this bass, I need to look for an active 4-stringer! Im into the Fender Jazz sound at the moment so i'd like a fender active deluxe jazz? Anyone have one up for grabs or have any active 4-stringer for sale?

    Ibanez basses

Shavo from System of a Down used Ibanez BTb's back in their early days and Sam Rivers from Limp Bizkit used BTB's too during their early years.
erisu was the previous owner of my BTB. I was actually sat here wonder how the bridges worked. I'd never have thought of a magnet... cheers.
Yup I remember changing the strings on this bass and didn't feel any magnetic force pulling the strings I just thought the top end of the bridge holds the strings down when the string goes over the saddle to be strung... You just slide the ball end into the bridge and it holds... that's at least how i did it lol

    Ibanez basses

I heard these fit: http://www.warmoth.com/Single-String-Bridge-C719.aspx and http://www.bestbassgear.com/single-string-bass-bridges.htm I think you would need to cut off the string holes on the first link if they don't come off with force =/
  15.
Here's the conclusion from the BGM review of the Canyons:
For £600, I would say a S/H Lakland 55-01 is the best option! I haven't played one yet but i heard the B string is the best in this price range (and maybe even giving more expensive 5-string basses a run for their money!) The 01 lakland's also have Bart's MK1 pickups and pre-amps which the SR505 use too. Im even on the verge of getting a 44-02 deluxe through the take it away finance scheme
  16. I just got a Ibanez SR505 for £230 in minttttttt with a case as well 2 weeks ago! It truely is an awesome bass!! I had to turn my amp down because of the power the bass was giving! Very versatile in tone tweaking too! It's also surprisingly light for a mahogany body too =O The only thing that worries me is the finish on these basses... its natural finish so it's easier to dent and scratch than laquer finished basses =(
  17.
Check it out on the royal mail site, just enter the weight. I expect the size format will be "packet" http://sg.royalmail.com/portal/rm/PriceFin...ear=pricingcalc
Cheers for the link! No idea how heavy the box will be, its a pretty small box anyway so im guessing 700 - 900 grams which would cost £5? (Changed the postage price to £5)
  18.
Not to be a dick, but I posted a Gotoh bridge for less than £3 recorded.
Im looking to sell the bridge with the tuners which both of them will be bubble wrapped and sent in a box. Last time i posted a letter by recorded cost me a whopping £4! So i guessing sending a box through recorded would be about £10?
