  1. A cautious estimate. I worried about that but Nick the guitarist has been a studio engineer for 35 years and has the hearing of a bat - he can't hear anything.
  2. I know nothing about such things but bought a unit last year which packed up within a year! I was looking to source a cheap replacement and found this https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07L5B64RG/ref=cm_sw_r_em_api_i_.H1xFbQS17RT8 My guitarist who is a professional sound engineer (and locally highly regarded) liked it so much he bought one too. I've since had others message me and buy one so I assume it must be reasonable. Not the sturdiest looking thing but if you look after kit, it shouldn't be a problem.
  3. Although 2020 means you don't get a nice 7" bag and change from Woolworths! We're the only one of my bands that seem to have thrived during 2020 thanks to some good use of the internet and some creative videos. "Echo Road (Radio Edit)" is the new single from our critically acclaimed album "Human Traffic and is backed with a cover of the Lords of the New Church classic "Russian Roulette". Forgive the shameless plug. https://vivelerock.net/dissidents-on-the-road/
  4. Moos3h bought my Olp bass in a smooth transaction, friendly comms & a textbook exchange at an Esso garage whilst both on work calls!

Lawrence demonstrated his fine taste in retro automobile vegan straps by buying one from me! Prompt payment, friendly comms - all in the spirit of what makes Basschat a great community.
  6. Sack the chef then @Thunderbird. It's 2020 and there's more variety than ever before, be it for someone who wants to try something new through to the most hardcore vegan. Personally I've never tried eating musical equipment but then I've always found Basschat to be a pretty non-judgemental place.
  7. Dave demonstrated his cool and classy tastes in buying one of my vegan Couch Straps. Quick payment, friendly comms - textbook Basschat transaction!
  8. Just the yellow / white one left now. Basschat, you have great taste!
  9. It must be my photo as the buyer initially thought the chocolate one was black too.
  10. The yellow one on the right and the beige one on the left are for sale, the one in the middle has now sold.
  11. Middle one (chocolate brown) sold now so just the left and right ones left.
  12. I've been incredibly lazy not bumping this thread but the whole Covid-19 thing put me off selling. Beckoning studio costs mean I need to pull my finger out. As above really.

  15. I sold a few of these on here before so here's the final remaining straps of my collection of hand made American straps made from vintage car upholstery vinyl by Couch in the USA. Only selling as my knackered shoulder now means I have to take a wider strap after 32 years of appalling low slung technique! The shortest length hole to hole is 100cm and they go very long indeed! I'm 6ft 3", play low and there is still room to go lower if you have full on ape like arms! Equally you can play at aa sensible height too! All in great condition and all 2" wide / very comfy. With import taxes and delivery these normally sell for about £60 each for the Racer X ones with the beige car seat belt one being nearer £40. I'm offering them at £30 each including UK delivery and £20 for the beige one. These are all 100% vegan / cruelty free and made from recycled American automobile interiors. As used by everyone from Green Day to Queen to Cheap Trick, the Velvet Underground and, um, Beyonce!?
  16. Welcome to the Ric owners Club! I love my 4003s and use it all the time at present. I had a 4003 mapleglo back around 2009 but sold it on after a gig and recording session. Always regretted that so when I found a competitively priced 4003s a couple of years ago, I snapped it up! This one has recorded a whole album and done quite a few shows up until lockdown. It's about to record a new album and goes back out live at the end of the month. As you can see like @PigBass I too recommend removing the cover and getting the bezel fitted.
  17. I found the trouble with small pedalboards is that I get it set up and then just think "I'll add an additional pedal!". Personally I probably wouldn't bother with two as they'd fit in a case / gig bag but it's your gig so the pb3 would work well as it is low cost and sturdy.
  18. It's good to see buyers / sellers taking relevant precautions. It feels less strange when more people are doing this. With reports in the news this morning of the rise continuing for a second week, it does appear that a few folk are getting a little lax about things. I had a tonne of stuff for sale prior to lockdown and I was just now thinking I might refresh the sales threads again. There's always that fear of the guy showing up coughing with his whole family!
  19. I saw that Ampeg head too but it bucks the trend. I am (pending an incoming payout) looking for an AD200B Orange head and the general guideline seems to be that these things do very much hold a lot of their value. Whilst I agree that the lightweight stuff is very much the preferred option these days, plenty still want (& pay for) those old school big valve beasts.
  20. A lot of my early musical education comes from school.... but had nothing to do with the lessons.
  21. Some of the post Diana Ross stuff from the 70s is great too, like 5.30 Plane.
  22. Well, I took the plunge!
