1. I know that unfortunately he has been trying to sell it for a long time. Surprising.
2. Just clocked this on Faecesbook, nice. Is it Burgundy Mist?
3. My TTE brings down pidgeons and walls. This must be bloody amazing
4. Not seen it on Feebay or Bumtree, but nice left on this Faeces book page. You may need to scroll down a bit https://www.facebook.com/groups/689090051102626/
5.
THE classic colour / pickguard / neck combination for a Precision IMHO It was seeing the Stranglers and the Ramones that made me take up bass - a nostalgia-tinted bump for a lovely P
Thanks Shaggy, your wonderful and massively under rated Gibson Explorer bass is a nostalgia-tinted trip for me. I gigged a white '84 Gibson Explorer bass, probably same run as yours, for donkeys years. Sold it when I grew too old for it. JUST SHOWS WHAT A TIT I AM , one of the best looking, playing, sounding basses made IMO. Anyway, this 'ere Dee Dee, if it doesn't go this week, I'm going to gig it and bring out my inner Steve Harris! SORRY SOLD THREE DAYS AGO.
6. Very nice Tim looks great. 6.35kgs?
7. Weight of a bass. 1. Ask wife/girlfriend/mrs 3 doors down for luggage scales (or spend £5 at local low price store). 2. Tie ribbon/handkerchief/sock/special lacy undergarment around neck of bass. 3. Suspend bass from luggage scales. 4 Read weight reading and put on the advert. Sorry Wiggy, sarcasm not aimed simply at you but it is common for people to not put the effort in, regarding weight. In doing so, they simply put off a significant number of older buyers. For instance, my Dee Dee Ramone is up for sale at a stated weight of 8lb 5oz, which is actually a few ozs too heavy for Tom, as I well know. 40 or more years of heavy basses hanging off left side shoulders does make you beg for light. Bump.
8. Further interest seems to have vanished. I've not been using it, simply to keep it pristine. If I still have it next weekend, I'm going to start gigging it as it's a nice, powerful playable relatively light bass. Sale is preferred but I would certainly be interested in a part ex against a Bongo or Sterling as these are both itches requiring a darn good scratch I have cash to put to a tempting deal. For any folk with the Fender Mex blinkers, this is an interesting little read from some actual owners http://basschat.co.uk/topic/263089-mexican-fender-precisions/page__pid__2790984#entry2790984
9. Hate Marmite, love this bass
10.
Hehehehe...... Free false beard and cheap sunglasses thrown in......
Well I've had a couple of nibbles on my Dee Dee today, so you never know. I'll hold you to the beard mind
11. £300 2 x 10 that weighs only 15kgs. Markbass Traveler 102P neo bass cab. Excellent condition with Roqsolid cover. 2 x 10 neo speakers, 8 ohm, 400 watts. Prefer collection from Wigan but will courier at £25 extra, UK mainland. Any trial in Wigan, feedback link at bottom of post, cheers, Karl. MIGHT WELL HAVE A FEW QUID TO ADD, if you have a nice Fender you would like to trade. 12. Thanks Simon, it's certainly a well made light bass that plays well and certainly looks the 70's part
13. For crying out loud somebody please buy this wonderful Explorer. Before Shaggy reminds me of it again
14. Well done Tim, that was quick. Should have taken the deal offered shouldn't I
15.
Mine is a 2014 white MIM-P bass and there is nothing to alter on it, the pickup is very loud, I've had a few of these but this one is just amazing! Better than any US I've had. The only problem is the weight at just on 9lbs, I can't bloomin' well use it because of my back, bollox
Interesting Tom, I have to back off the amp gain a bit with my Dee Dee as it clips quite a bit sooner than the Road Worn Jazz, so that is quite a powerful pick up as well. Why are you hanging 9lb off your back bollox? Can I be your manager
16. For those who have asked, yes this is based on a 1970's Precision, hence "TV" logo. It also may well be lighter and better made than a lot of proper original 1970's Precisions, who can tell ? It is interesting to note that some places are advertising these as a Factory Special Run. Back in the 90's, the Geddy, the Marcus and the Duck Dunn all started as Factory Special Runs, ie limited amount originally. The Geddy and Marcus made it to full production and are still made to this day. The Duck Dunn didn't, so only one run of those was made, hence their limited availability today.
17. Have a bump Tim. Top bloke peeps, this will be a good one. GLWTS
18. OK,I'll ask seeing as everybody else appears to have gone shy. Would you consider trades? Good luck regardless, Karl.
19. Hmmmm, Markbass you say I wonder where one might get two Markbass Traveler 102P's (Italian) plus Roqsolid covers plus £150 without the need for a Gamma pad that could be sold separately. I also wonder where the innocent looking emoticon is
20.
Send them some pictures of the most portly bass player you can find, and tell them the pictures are of you!
In a lime green mankini.
21. For the benefit of the viewers Dave, would you consider off the wall trades, for example, well, I don't know, say such as a certain Precision I have up for sale plus £250 to you? Look, SOMEBODY was going to ask, might as well be me Here's a current thread that a party of your peers are running http://basschat.co.uk/topic/263089-mexican-fender-precisions/page__pid__2787859#entry2787859 Anyway, if you were to entertain trades, perhaps somebody will have something you require. All the best, Karl.
22. Thanks for that, nice weight for a Japanese. You are right, mine is a nice P, but sadly it's the modern C profile with 41.6mm nut width, or I'd be badgering you to give you £200 plus my P for your jazz. But we both know the neck isn't for you, even if you were considering any trades. That jazz of yours is just stunning, if my P goes............. Good luck anyway.
23. Right, asking stuff. Deliriously good looking bass. Don't get excited, my Dee Dee would have to sell (although I did put it up for another reason ) Just in case though, what's the actual weight of this, as many of us know some Japanese Fenders can be a tad weighty. Good luck regardless, cheers, Karl.
24. All 3 of my Fender's are Mex, all three play exceptionally well. So much so that in the last year, I've sold a couple of unmentionables, an Alembic, a Sadowsky, 2 SEI's plus my US basses. Guess I've just got lucky with 3 exceptional basses. Mind one of them is up for sale to fund a 1 pup unmentionable .
