1. There are a number of clubs we play in that have these things fitted, and all because of complaints from neighbours, and a requirement by the authority to keep the volume to a certain level in a particular place. In all cases it has been a requirement from the authorities and not so far for ealth and safety mate. Some of the clubs have been hosting live music for 40 odd years, and its only recently that these things have become more common apart from in certain sensitive areas. They are all supposed to be adjustable for both volume and time so that a peak will not set them off. If they are not set right, they are almost impossible to play with and we hav had them set off y the audience, and we have found no way apart from completely by passing them. Our drummer bought a flat kit which helps, and its good discipline for us sometimes to try to keep the volume down. Sometimes its certain frequencies that seem to set them off, and in 1 venue its very sensitive to guitar, so he has to play very quietly ha ha.
 2. That means theres no point buying any of those found in granmas attic vintage basses then

 4.
The only gripe I have with the 4x8 really is the fact that mine isn't one of the newer neo ones, and so it's a lot heavier than it looks like it shoud be lol Si
Thats one of the resons that puts me off taking mine out sometimes
 5.
How do they connect up to each other, if I was connecting them to an amp? Can I connect one cab into another to reduce the impedance from 8ohms to 4? Is it called 'daisy chaining' or something?
I refer back to my earlier posts, are u using 2 cabs or 4 If two you can either go 2 leads from the amp 1 to each cab, or 1 lead from the amp to cab a and one fron cab a to cab b. If you want to use 4 it will depend on the amp you are using

 7. There was a mk 1 and a mk 2 with different handles, i dont know if there were other changes You cant put the mk 2 on its side because the handles protrude so it will wobble Why would you want to its a square cabinet They match perfectly with the4x8 which is the same size You can put either one on the top its personal preference. If as i think you are going to have more than 2 cabs ? ie 2 4x8 and 2 1x15 then the wiring will depend on your amp as you are unlikly to have 4 outputs, and 4 8 ohm cabs will give you 2 ohms total impedance depending on how you connect them, and most amps dont like that.
 8.
Knowing nothing about the product... As Line 6 bought X2, is this just the same technology as the X2, rebranded?
I think its a different frequency. The us x2 is on 924 and the relay on 2.4
 9.
Selling for a friend, mint condition used once and he decided he prefer's the size of the AKG Bug things as this has a body pack. I've used mine since March and they are stunning and the signal is flawless. Great wireless, all boxed with all the bits and bobs. £130ono Cheers
Pm
 10. I bought a cheap painted body for about £40 off e bay, it wasnt heavy, appeared to be solid wood not plywood, and the finish was excellent. The problem you may have with some of the bodes and neck is the fit between the 2 as not all p bass bodies and necks are the same.
 11.
I now have lots of these in stock. 12"x4"x2" - two for £10, £5P&P (obviously zero P&P if you're getting a cab at the same time). They're made of Auralex PlatFoam (as used on the GRAMMA). Two are sufficient to float a rig up to about 150lbs in weight, and thus mechanically isolate it from wooden stages/floors. If you want to tilt your cab back yet still isolate it then use one 2" high at the back and one 4" high at the front, or use one 4" high at the front to tilt and partially isolate. Keep them in your gigbag with your bass, they'll fit neatly next to its neck and they weigh almost nothing. Handy problem solvers, you never know when they'll come in useful! Alex
I have been toying with the idea of getting a gramma but this might be a better way On the gramma pads the platform pads run left to right and extend the full width of the cab ie they are 24 in wide give or take Do you suggest the 12 " lengths are run left to right supporting the middle of the cab only or front to back assuming you are not tilting Does that make sense?

I couldnt wait to get rid of it and buy a 'proper' instrument, Now I see them up for silly money.
 13. ti flats are loose feeling if you want flats and they are great strings

 20. This craigs list ad on the bottom line sums it all up for me Bass player needed for working folk-rock group gigging 5+ dates per month. MUST have the following: 1. Technically brilliant on the bass 2. Must have own transportation 3. Must own a PA system adequate for rooms up to 400 persons 4. Must transport PA to all gigs (see # 2) and set up and take down while the rest of the band schmoozes fans 5. Must provide 2,3 and 4 at no additional cost to the band 6. Must be capable of lead and harmony singing at perfect pitch 7. Must be willing to serve as booking and business manager for the band. Bass player is expected to secure most of the band's gigs. 8. Must be able to supply subsidized housing for band members. 9. Must be willing to buy instruments for band members (accordion, bagpipes, hand percussion etc.) so that the band can expand the sound 10. Must own field recording rig so live shows can be recorded and archived The band will conduct auditions and interviews. Please bring an inventory of the equipment we require to the audition and interview so we can determine if your gear will satisify our requirements. Successful candidate will earn an equal band share of gig payment, typically $50 minimum per 4 hour show. We have a gig Friday and another Sunday and 3 more beyond that in November, so move fast if you want this opportunity of a lifetime!
 21. if its a c110 its a small cab, I have one, if you want to match you need to choose a 1x15 mini or a mini 4x8 i use a mini 4x8 im not too struck on the 1x15 if i were you i would be inclined to have a look at the barefaced cabs.
 22.
What a thread I started! The I saw them in 2000 and, yes, musically impeccable but not exactly exciting.
If that was the one at the old wembley I went up with a group of friends we had been excited for weeks , but we left before the end because the sound was appalling.
 23. I have started collecting so i have Eden Traveller head plus Ashdown 1x15 and 4x8 mini cabinets Ashdown 300w 1 x10 combo to which I sometimes add the 4x8 Acoustic 220 head plus 406 2x15 cab my normal rig these days Acoustic 150b plus 404 1 x15 cab Acoustic 126 1 x15 combo
 24. I prefer Becker as a bassist rather than a guitarist and all of the SD drumming is great
 25.
Hmm interesting... I've always found them to be patronising, over-priced and unhelpful. That's ever since I bought my first (and last) bass from them 25 years ago!
They have done my guitarists amp and two of mine over the last 12 months reasonable prices and good turn round. I picked one up today, repaired with a new transformer, turnround time 3 days. I cant comment about prices as they are a bit out of my way and ive never bought a bass from there.
