1. I think i'll reply back and see what he says then. If he says the same story and doesnt sell then it might be legit. If he's gonna take the cash and run he'll sell.. We shall seeeee
2. I messaged the guy about it. This was the reply... "Hi there, What you see is the actual bass, my wallpaper is a lime green (don't ask, please) so i got rid of the background using some photoshop program If i didn't it'd be pretty hard to spot the guitar! The reason for the low price is simple: i'd rather this guitar goes to someone who will actually play it rather than a collector who will merely hang it up gathering dust! Shipping is by FedEx and is included in the price Regards, Jaco" Now a few things about this that is odd. 1) His name is Jaco... Yet his email was axlmusic? Seems a little odd. 2) That picture seems insanely stock. 3) I could be totally wrong but didnt the 70s have block inlays?

4. That passive thing is an interesting thing... My deep impact + WM hate my stingray. Alot. How does it work?
5. awww man A fender that i actually want (pj pups, slim neck, nice finish) and i'm worryingly skint! God damn.
6. Thought i should stick my backline here Mesa 400+ into an Ampeg 610HLF. There is a laney 1x15 too - but i think that might be sold soon..
7.
Lovely Lakland, Great Stingray......... but what on earth prompted you to part with money for a Johnson....worst basses I've ever played.......EVER Si
Haha well i was watching the Blink Video for rock show on hogmanny, and thought "Hmm i'd like a pink bass..." Seems when i went to a party i got talking about it, then persuaded into buying it off my phone.. Didnt realise till about 3 days later when i checked my emails. Thats the one im willing to try and make my project bass (since ive never done any mods before, and im not caring about messing up a 70 quid thing!)
8. Thanks all the pink bass (which was bought on new year...bloody ebay apps for iPhone!) is going to be totally different when i get the cash to play with it. The weird 5 string fretless thing, is a ministar travelbass i think. I got it free from a mate i worked with. It actually sounds quite alright, just a pain in play.
9. Thought i'd finally get around to taking a picture of my basses. One of the below is my project fixer uper.

Gone

Ohhh that looks nice. I sold my warwick because it was 5 string...but i kinda want one again. And i have always had a thing for thumb basses.....
11. Hey folks, I recently just bought a Mesa 400+ which i love lots. Only problem is, i'm worried about it dying on me because of power surges (or bad supplies). My guitarist has a power conditioner in his rack but it takes a bit of space. I have a 4u rack with the mesa in it. So not much space at the back at all (few inches max). Anyone got any idea on any power conditioner that is REALLY small but still rackable? To power the amp and my effects pedals. Cheers Davie
12.
Sack him. Next?
I agree.
13. I'd be interested in hearing some clips of these pedals. I have an OC 2 which i love to pieces, but sometimes it doesnt track brilliantly. Sometimes the ex7 does a better job...
14.
Heyyy, I tend to use the Fuzz Factory and Phase 90 together, gives a very very Evil sound, Holy stain is actually pretty fun, I use it for either Room reverb clean or with Fuzz which is also packed in the pedal with a dark tone. I Play alot of Doom/Drone stuff as well as my main band Playing desert rock type of stuff, I can just get some nice fuzzy goodness!
Regarding the FF - Can it do that insane sorta feedbacky sound? I spoke to Max at sfx and we discussed building one that would work at bass freqs. If i can make space on the board once its tidied then i might give it a go and see.

16. Okay 680 for it all. Its in aberdeen if anyone wants to see it or anything.
17. What about going for an Ampeg SVT 4 Pro? I know of one for sale......
18. Wasn't there a black Lakland DJ5 with PJ config on here a little while ago? I remember frothing at the mouth at it. EDIT: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...&hl=Lakland Here. Whoever bought that is one lucky bugger. That bass is sex with strings!
19. Bump this is still for sale! £700 for an Ampeg SVT 4 with Alesis 3630 compressor/Noise gate and the 4U rack! Natch it will include the speakon cable also. It's a brilliant amp - I'm only selling because i got a mesa 400+.
20. Welcome! What band are you in? I'm in Aberdeen so might have heard of ya
21.
Either that or you've been playing too much Guitar Hero
I always thought that green was E
22.
No, not me. I think that form of synaesthesia's quite rare, compared to things like letters or numbers (or days of the week) having colours. That said, I do get a sensation of different "tones" and "feelings" (bright, dark, happy, strident, etc.) from different chords and keys, which apparently not everyone has. In fact, I agree with Nigel Tufnel that D minor is the saddest of all keys. No, seriously. An A major chord's bright and open to me, whereas Eb major's kind of solemnly smug. D minor's really sad, but A minor's just wistful. Hard to describe, but really useful at times. Chord extensions give me different sensations too (and usually combined with the associated feeling for the base chord too): maj7 = light, open, floating min7 = dense, thick, dark sus = sparkling
Hahah i thought that was just me being stupid! Thats roughly the same thing ive said to mates about chords! and get this look back

24.
snip I'll bet some people stick at this point with Lakland Skylines, the new Warwick Rockbasses and other "top end budget" models.
I also love my Skyline because it seemed to actually feel better than an American Lakky. Not to mention the DJ4 only seemed to have dot inlays on the American as opposed to the skyline with the blocks. I think thats the case - I could easily be wrong.
