1. Thanks for the response, I am having a few back problems currently so my aim is to go with either a combo and extension or two small cabs. I can only really find two options when it comes to combos the markbass and the tecamp, any ideas?
 2. Hi, Having recently purchased a rather nice Sandberg California TT, it's time to look at my bass rig. I would like ideas/ recommendations. I do a few quiet practices/rehearsals with an am dram company, and also have recently started to work with a trio playing Weller, Stereophonics and Foo Fighters. Currently I have a TC rig (classic 450 and rs212). But find its too much for panto rehearsals etc. Anyone got any recommendations? Cheers Stu
 3. Cheers for the comment mate, How did you get on with your Marcus Miller Jazz? I have heard that the active circuit can be noisy - yours looks stunning mate! Cheers

 5.
Not wishing to jump your thread but also been looking at this old bus.....is that amp from 1999...the serial number ends something like 1199...I'm sure it had a buy it now price of £350 a little while ago? ....just asking as I'm not too clued up, but would something like a new Hartke be better value?
Hi, Cheers for the info. I'm not sure how good Hartke are these days I want something reliable. There is some good looking old Trace stuff on ebay at the moment. I would welcome any thoughts on Hartke stuff as it is good value. Cheers Stu
 6.
I've been doing small gigs with an Ampeg B115 - the tube preamp version. I have a loud drummer and one loudish (insane Boogie combo) guitar to cope with. The Ampeg just about cuts the mustard if I give it more middle than I actually like. Funkmaster Dave uses a GK MB150 - mostly with it's dedicated extension cab - and his Warwick always sounds well against another noisy guitarist (insane Rivera - choice of 2!) , a quiet guitarist (Blues Jnr) and a quiet drummer. Hoping I might get to play my fretless through it at their gig tonight (grovel , crawl etc in case he's reading this!) The 'trouble' with combos to me is that if you get one large enough to gig with the bloody thing's heavier than going the small amp/cab route - which despite my efforts to prove otherwise has always been better for me.
Hi, Thanks for the input the New Ampeg stuff (made in China) doesnt really seem that good - The combo you have sounds like it's one that was made in The US when the Ampeg combos were the business. I have my eye on a couple of old series 6 Trace heads as I know they are good! The next venture would be a couple of 2x10's or a 2x10 and a compact 15" they seem to come up every now and then. Thanks again for the input. Cheers Stu
 7.
Why not an older Trace Elliot combo? They're built like tanks, even though small ones are heavy, you do get lots of omph for little financial outlay. There's a TE 1215 at 300 watts on the 'bay at the mo.
Hi, Cheers for the response, I noticed this one yesterday I will keep a close eye on it! Thanks again. Stu
 8.
How about a SH Nemesis 2 x 10 combo. Small, not too heavy, nice pre and punchy!
Sounds like an option I'll look out for one. Cheers for the scoop!! Stu
 9.
How loud is loud? I don't like combos and would always go for a separate amp and several cabs. I think it's more flexible, you get more for your money and you can upgrade more easily.
Hi, Thanks for your reply. The guitarists use valve loaded Fender amps just small combos (single 12 I think). I think one of them is deaf! lol! Any recommendations? you can get a good deal on Hartke heads and cabs on ebay it seems? Cheers Stu
 10. Hi all, Merry Christmas and all that!! I would like to obtain some opinions on Bass combos. After a 10 month break from bass playing I find myself back in a band set up with 2 loud guitarists a drummer and keyboard player. I sold my Markbass set up to raise cash for a new car and now find myself on the hunt for a cheap rig/combo. We always DI the bass so a combo would do the job. In the past with the band I used an Ashdown 4x10 abm series combo but remember when I trapped a nerve lifting it out the car! (No fun!) so something of that size is a no no. Recently I missed out on a nice series 6 Trace 2x10 combo on ebay and whilst I continue to look at both ebay and the mighty Bass Chat! I would like some recommendations from my fellow"Chatters". My budget is £250 - £300 (yes I know it sounds like I should be on Ready Steady Cook!) but there are some bargains out there! Anyway I welcome thoughts recommendations and donations ! LOL! Cheers Happy 2010!!! Stu
 11. Hi All, I have a 90's SWR Workingmans 1 x 12 combo up for grabs. It's one from the 90's so one of the originals! A great tone and with an extension cabinet it does kick it out! I'll attach some photos and some more specifications shortly. I am after a Hartke Hydrive, SWR or Ampeg combo to go with my new bass! I am looking for just £150 for this little beauty. Based in Northampton. Any questions get in touch. Cheers Stu
 12.
For no other reason than that I fancy a change and need some cash in my pocket for my forthcoming NYC trip I,m selling my rather special GB. It's a sister to EBS-Freaks 5 sting and one of a triplet taken from the same american walnut facing. This is a Jazz on steroids, with a huge and powerful EQ section, it covers every sound in the book from full on Mark King slap to soulfull jazz tones and everything in between. A quality bass in every respect. Super fast figured maple neck and fretboard, a really spectacularly pretty bass and always gets admiring comments. Comes with GB Hiscox case. 9.5/10 condition wise, there is the smallest of marks on the top edge towards the rear, and a small depression just above the battery, Bernie is aware of this from when it was new and will sort it at any stage for the new owner, its basically a tiny settling in a knot of the grain and was there when I bought it, it is barely noticeable and it never bothered me. She has the snazzy smoked see thru EQ cover. Some extensive new pictures: Please excuse the missing screw on the rear cover! It will be replaced. Price wise: £1650 shipped and insured.
STUNNING!!!!
 13. Hmmm.... Good question - Best Bass tone Ive heard out of my own fingers Sadowsky NYC 4 string. To look at I would go for a AAA flame maple topped Sadowsky NYC. Not that I'm obsessed or anything! Stu
 14. Cant believe this is still for sale! - Gorgeous! Still not fancy the trade? Stu

 18.
Sorry to labor the point but this chap is selling a similar Moon - http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?p=7523049 Is it the same as yours? He reckons its a 34" scale. I only want to be sure as this bass is top of my list if I manage to shift my jazz.
I will double check mate - never measured scale lengths before. Will post back soon Stu

 20.
Hi folks. I haven't played Bass much for almost 2 years now, so want to sell gear I no longer need. SWR REDHEAD 350watt COMBO Brought about 5 years ago and in great condition. Never driven hard, and speakers are MINT, so no probs at all there! Bad points - The carpeting has a couple of light scuffs where my cat has managed to sneak into the room and use it as a scratching post, and there are no wheel-casters on the bottom as I removed them when I brought it, and have since lost them cos I never used them - doh! In light of the fact it has missing casters etc, and is about 5 years old, and that SWR have just released a new version of the Redhead (which I think is about £1400 ?), I'm looking for £550, which I think is a fair price, when, aside from these bad points, the combo itself is amazing and hardly been used in the 5years I have had it. Now, when I needed a little extra grunt, I've ran it with a Son-Of-Bertha 15" extension cab on a number of times and sounds fantastic. I'm intending to keep the extra cab, but if someone wants to make an offer for it IN ADDITION to buying the redhead, then I might let them go as a pair. Please no offers for the extension cab on its own. Its only been used about 10 times, so I'd make a total-loss on whatever it sold for, and I'm not THAT desperate for money! Haha. Anyway - I'm in COLCHESTER, ESSEX, and buyers are welcome to come and have a good ol' lengthy play on it before taking it away. Get in touch for more details. illinois@btopenworld(spanspam).com ..... obviously remove the (spanspam). Thanks for reading. Regards.
Any Piccies mate? Stu
