  1. Didn't have you down as a Spice Girls fan! Lol
  2. Thanks mate, I think a lot of it is being happy with what you have and being able to get every sound you need from one bass. I think of all the top players have access to loads of basses but you hardly ever see Victor Wooten without a Fodera or Marcus Miller without a Fender MM Jazz or Sire as it is now.
  3. Hi all, I am the proud owner if 2x Sandberg 5 strings. Both basses were purchased for the same amount circa £1250. I am struggling currently to get my head round owning 2 Basses and wanted to know whether anyone has gone from 2 basses just to 1 all round quality bass. I am thinking of a secondhand Roscoe or Overwater. Maybe another Sandberg with an exotic wood top. What does everyone think? Stu
  4. Markbass do still make the Little Mark and also the Big Bang with aux in and split channel for filters and eq.... .... The plot thickens.
  5. Thanks guys a mate of mine has a Littlt Mark 2 he doesn't use since he got his TC endorsement. I may see if I can borrow it.
  6. Hi all, I am currently running two bergs under my TC Electronic Classic 450. I have had the odd comment that the sound is a bit "woofy" and not that clear. I am looking to up grade the head an indeed have my eye on a couple of heads plus a Tecamp 2x12 combo. Anyone have any ideas/ran a couple of AE12's Cheers Stu
  7. Good point Kusee, It's amazing what people will dance to. If you want them to dance why wouldn't you play 70's Dance and Funk? However earlier in the post there was a mention of a full dance floor playing 90's Indy. We'll have to see how the gigs go!
  8. We are a relatively new band, so it will be interesting to see what our audience think. I've played in bands before and it's likely that the audience will tell us what they would like to hear from us as well as the songs they don't like. What I am struggling with is playing stuff like I'm a Believer, Day Dream Believer and Suspicious Minds in the same set as Hush, Vertigo and Slight Return.
  9. Hi All, Wanted a few opinions on this one. I currently play in a covers band and we set out to play primarily 90's stuff. Oasis, Shed 7, Stereophonics etc I know it's not great bass stuff. But it's what we do well. We had to learn some stuff fast for a gig which involved the typical pub classics ie Beatles, Elvis and The Monkeys. My main question to all my fellow bass players in covers bands is does your band play songs that make you happy or do you play songs that you have to for the audience? My feeling is if the band plays what it plays best the audience will enjoy watching and listening. Welcome thoughts you guys have. Cheers Stu
  10. I own 2 Sandberg 5 strings and love them! A california VM5 and a California TT5. Buil quality is great, they feel amazing especially the satin finish VM5. Well worth spending some time playing a couple to see what you think. I was all set to buy a Sadowsky and ended up buying 2 x Sandbergs!
  11. Hi All, Thought I'd take the opportunity of showing off my 'Bergs! My first was the natural/maple California TT 5 a la Marcus Miller. Lovely slap tone very clean and articulate. My second and most recent is the new shape California VM5 which is a real tone machine. Playing in a covers band the VM5 has turned into my go to instrument. Anyway, just putting out some love for the Sandberg name! Cheers Stu
  12. Sorry must have missed it on the previous page of the thread.
  13. Meant to say Warwicks not Warwickshire!!
  14. Hi All, I am after some pearls of wisdom from my fellow bass chatters! I am currently the proud owner of a Sandberg California TT 5 which looks and sounds very much like Marcus Millers. In March I turn a certain age and have decided to go after another bass. Sadowsky basses, Musicman Stingrays and good 90's Warwickshire have always been my bag, but here is the dilemma. I play in an indie/rock band and am thinking if I went for a 4 string bass would I ever use that and the 5? Anyone own a 4 and a 5 and use them both? Also any suggestions? Budget around £1300 - current rig TC Classic 450 with Bergantino ae112's x2. Any questions / suggestion very welcome. Stu
  15. Really nice but not enough pennies in the account!
  16. Love that! Will keep an eye on it!
  17. Very nice, always wanted one of these. If it's still around in March I maybe in touch. Stu
