Have sent Max an e-mail to see what costs are for the Loop Logic.
Win
Not exactly a pedalBOARD, but.. ...my XP-100 came in today! Please excuse my silly smirk.
And win! -
Sold will my Copilot Molecule pedal. Easy transaction. Cheers mate!
I'd love to hear this!
Links in sig bud!
If it's an amp with a digital front-end, does it allow for a hard limiter to be programmed in as a second preset separate to what you use? That with a subsonic filter would give as close to bomb-proof a set-up as you could ever get...probably even more than letting someone use your cab with an unknown amp (as I bet your amp has DC and generally more sophisticated failsafes)
It does. I have a limiter set and a high pass filter at 35hz with a 48db/oct roll off. If you hit the limiter though it sounds NASTY. Sounds as though the cab has exploded with an abrasive bang. Worlds scariest limiter!

Questions to owners of the MarkBass Super Synth

Get the software on. You can control the sensitivity, the resonance, the envelope amount, as well as the attack and decay of the filter. That's before you start tuning the oscillators. The default settings are more of a 'showroom' tour. It's a pedal you need to be happy to spend a few hours with having it hooked up to a computer and an amp to play with stuff. Your nighles though, are solvable via the software. -
I'm always cool with the bass cab, as long as people are polite enough to ask in advance and treat it with respect. You are right if no one ever wanted to share gear then gig logistics would be a nightmare. There are limits though. The main reason my amp is off limits to others is that it's a 1400w PA power amp which has be tuned by computer to the gain structure of my slightly unique effects set up. Clipping an amp at 1400w is not good for my cab and as I can't just flick a switch and it be tuned perfectly for the input gain of other bassists I don't allow the risk. Our drummer is in a similar position. His kit is a hybrid. 3 snares. No Toms. No kick (a floor tom on a side mount). The entire kit is tuned up so it sits well above the bass. Other drummers don't want to play it... And we sound a bit naff if we use another ('regular') kit, as we have invested an awful lot of time and money in creating a sound. Basically if we play a show we need to do a full back line swap with exception of bass cab. We are a 2-piece though so that balances it out ;-)

Lol. Now you mention it, at the same gig the sound man came up to me and told me he thought I had the "Best sounding Warwick i've ever heard". It was one of those nights.
Ah, I thought it was 2 little bits of velcro. The stuff with the full size pedal was rubbish. I applied it, stuck pedal to board, the next day went to move the pedal and it left the velcro behind...
I had the same experience. Nice thought. Bad execution. I kinda like supplying pedals with rubber feet to stick on rather than them being stuck on and having to pry them off though.
Thanks for the link, going to order some stuff later. It also looks a handy place to get tools for the Cat Burglar business. Garry
Lol... Yeah. I never really looked at what else they sell. I found them searching 'Procell' on eBay and never really looked into what else they sell. Interesting!
-
No supplied Velcro with this one! You get 2 little rubber feet to add if you don't Velcro it (rather than ones you need to remove if you are going to Velcro it), but no Velcro supplied.

Works perfectly as a chromatic tuner on my 6 string, just as te regular one does... And you'd expect and decent chromatic tuner to do so. Screen is large enough and bright enough on stage for tuning as well.
-
I always get mine form the same eBay store - http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Babz-Media/DURACELL-PROCELL-BATTERIES-/ £7.49 for 10 Duracell Procells. More you buy cheaper they are as well. I've been using them for all batteries for about 18 months now. Generally arrive within 2 days, often next day and usually free delivery too!
Sigh. What a douche.
Agreed

He was a massive stoner and always drunk for gigs. Real punk muso personified. He Jazz was battered to hell, he didn't have 20p to his name. I guess this seemed easier...
-
I use one on on the preamp to protect the power amp/speaker for large spikes but don't use one on the board at all for the music I play. I find it crushes dynamics and the really low low bass frequencies a little too much as well as playing havoc with ambient sound levels (like reverb & delay).
I have a warm feeling inside from reading this
:-) I had a guy ask if he could use my Roscoe at a gig about 6 months ago. We played a live show with ska & punk bands (odd mix for us to play with) and one guy was drunk out his face and wouldn't let it go. Asked about 5 or 6 time if he could use my bass rather than his Mex Jazz. I thought he was joking around to start with... turns out he does it at every gig and often people say yes!

I did... And we left as we'd already played

Yeah. Loop logic is a custom shop item and not on the main site. He has made 2 or 3 I recall him saying. My version is called 'Loops Mixer' and is the 1st with the added functionality. I'm sure he'll build either again and make any changes needed to suit your set up. -
I spoke to Jes @ TC about it and it's due tot he space. They had to lob off certain features to fit the board inside. Feedback was that hardly any bassists use the poly mode so they cut that out. Something had to give for them to make the tiny version basicially. No USB for future updates etc either. It is being sold as a 'stripped down' Polytune, in size and features - It's a little cheaper than the full size one and really is for those on a space budget for small boards or that doesn't need as many advanced tuning functions.
-
Urgh... not you as well...

Arrived from TC Electronic today (I won it on the facebook 'best pedalboard' competition)... Cool little thing. Polymode not available for a bass though - so It's strictly only a Chromatic tuner for bassists.

I always let others use my cab, but NEVER my amp. Even with advance notice. If anyone asks the answer is no. Using the cab comes with the requirement that no drink gets sat on top of it. I always tell folk, if I see a pint on it during your set I'll come and unplug it mid set, even if it's not your pint. protect it. People always think I'm joking... 6 months ago, at a Nottingham show a guy did not take notice. He turned up 'assuming' he could borrow gear, yet I still let him use the cab after he pleaded another bassist to let him use his amp. I went up to the stage mid set and pointed at the pint sat on my cab. He moved it looking a little coy. 5 minutes later, his singer put a pint of water on it. I gave him 60 seconds to notice, walked over, got up on stage as they finished a number, flipped the power to his amp off and unplugged my cab. The band started swearing at me. I swore back and told them they had been warned twice. My closing words were "if you want to play a full set next time, I'd suggest bringing your own gear". I wasn't very popular. Oh well. They were warned.

Yeah Michal is cool. I've spoke to him a few times. I think he's a BEF Pro user if I recall.
the loop logic I have is the same as an LS2 but it lets you select either A or B as well as A+B mixed, and they're all levelled out
I've only just started using it but it does exactly what I needed. In the same was as the Loop Logic it lets me jump from the A/B mode that my LS-2 used to do, straight into the A/B mix mode that the LS-2 used to do. My version however will let me select the single channel that will be active when you come back out of mix mode. -

Mine was built by Max (you can't get the stuff in shops - just direct), but mine has a slight change to the 'loop logic' blender or the split & mix stuff he builds, made specifically for my application... Max @ SFX is amazing at making stuff that works FOR YOU. -
HUGE EPIC BRUTAL sound... don't know what to look for..
