1. All PM's replied to. Cheers for all the interest... told ya it was beautiful...! Still here for the time being.
2.
Yum yum.
My thoughts exactly. Going to be tough letting go :-(
3. No longer a feeler. Spent last night playing this, and it is absolutely awesome... But I have to accept that bills need paying. Now for sale...
4. BASS NOW SOLD Hi people, No longer a feeler... The bass is stunning, as such I would love to keep it, but Christmas and bills mean if a reasonable sale can be made, I will let someone else enjoy it instead. This is a Warwick Thumb Bolt-On 5 string, 2006 model... The spec can be found here - http://www.warwickbass.com/modules/produkt...14447&cl=EN As the pictures below will show, this has to be, in my honest opinion, the finest cut of Ovangkol I have ever laid my eyes on. The oil finish is perfect and wood appears darker than most other Thumb's I have tried. The overall appearance is stunning! The bass is in pristine condition with the exception of a tiny ding near the jack socket which was too small to show on a photo, you won't see it but may feel it if you run a finger over it (it's hardly existent, but thought it was fair to mention!). It's at the lighter end of the scale for a thumb and feels and plays like its new. Set up with a brand new set of 40-125's in the last few days. For this stunning example I am now asking SOLD (price dropped 20/12/09) OR BEST OFFER (will consider the odd effects pedal in part ex to knock down the price) collected from Nottingham (City Centre), I have no transport to deliver, (but will make a short train journey if you pay the fare!) and am not keen to post, but will do so fully insured at your cost and arrangement. Anyone thats want to popover is happy to sit and have a good play on her to see that she is even better than the pictures show! Only trade would be EBS heads. Included the Warwick users kit (handbook, wax, cloth, truss rod adjuster, allen keys etc) and the warwick strap-locks as well. Warwick Rock Bag now included!!! The pics (hope they do it justice)... Cheers Shep
5. Awesome bass! and i missed it last time around! need to shift my 6x10.... Need pennies for so much stuff!!!
6.
Again, if someone would take my orange cabs! BTW how would this be with a LMII head? not sure about the 6ohm thing, just used to 4 and 8
would be fine mate, if a head can do 4 or 8 ohms then 6 is fine. Sounds closer to putting it in a 4 ohm cab though than an 8. 6 ohm is an odd breed but have had nothing but awesome sound out of each head i have tried through it. 1200w gives you plenty of headroom too!!
7. Yes mate. Cant wait for it to get here. My understanding is it was made as a show bass, with no plans to actually sell it. Bernie tells me Randy Hope-Taylor was interested at Bassday, but at the time the bass was going nowhere. Bernie is upgrading the electronics with the metronome and tuner and thenits mine! Seems it helps being a friend of a friend
8.
Quick update. New Spitfire 5 in the old fave daphne blue with the all new pickguard design... and an older 4 stringer with the original pickguard design. Enjoy!
That 5... the one with the new pick guard design that seems to of been lusted after by far too many... I'll pst some better pictures when it arrives with me!
9. Right people, this is going to gut me, but I need the money now .... bump down to £650! find a cab this awesome for that price.... Silly money. someone take this before I realise I'm mental...
10.
Monday morning bump Plenty of intrest, all PM's replied to, just waiting for the trigger to be pulled! Tony
Not all PM's replied too :-( I'll take my offer as a no!
11.
Pitchshifter with Sona Fariq and th Workhorse Movement, at Northumbria Uni. Not sure when, good few years ago though, It were a good 'un.
Sona Fariq! Theres an awesome band that hardly anyone ever heard of!!! Pitchshifter too... am stil in touch with Jonny Carter (he does recording/engineering these days), and JS Claydon used to knob my cousin... hardly a claim to fame... but hey ho!
12. Your mad Jazz... We both know how these sound!!! Don't do it.
13. Mine was Stuck Mojo... supported from Psycore and Kill II This. Had never seen a mosh pit before, and I was stood in the middle when Mojo started. I was nearly killed... good gig though!
14.
you and jim should do a trade
Already investigated that one... I need the pennies for other stuff really. As such, this is STILL available.
15. cheers guys. Have realised if i want other luxury items i need to save or be poor... Not sell items i already have! Saying that... Someone buy my markbass 6x10!
16. Soft overdrive or fuzz and a Markbass head with the VLE filter (Vintage loud Speaker Emulator) and turn it waaaaaaaaaay up. Just had it now with my SA450 head and Bass Blogger pedal, well close anyway!
17.
I really am quite interested in this but have the following issues 1. I am in surrey 2. I have 2 orange cabs, which would have to go if I go down the markbass route
Hi mate, 1. It would be a bit of a road trip for you... but it would be worth it... 2. Sell the Orange and buy markBass... it would be worth it...
18.
Probably early if anything - I didn't arrive until 4.30 and wasn't really able to get a 'stand' as such sorted!! Next year it'll be all singing and dancing, believe me. Just been a bit off the pulse recently and didn't really get anything sorted. Poor effort on my part. But I enjoyed the show!! ped
Yes dammit, try harder :-) Was a good show all round. Very enjoyable
19. By the time I found what I believe was the 'Basschat stand' it was a table pushed up against the wall with about 10 tee's on it... so I'm guessing I was a bit late! :-) I agree that Randy is not a 'solo' kind of player. But look at youtube... you can see what he is capable of with a little prep!!!
20. My first Bassday. Loved it. Was great to meet a few people. I have left with horrid GAS, but hey ho! Randy was a let down, and I was really looking forward to that performance, but everything else was great. I tried so many basses it was hard to decipher them all. GB Spitfire my fav, followed by the Everson range... massively surprised by how well they played and at £800 a piece they blew the socks off a few 2k plus priced basses I played that day!!! Poogie and the boys rocked and Nathan East was great and a fantastic singer as well (that surprised me!). Had a great day, stayed right to the end as well. I'll be there next year. I may even practice my slap as well to make up for the lack of slap bass around ;-)
21. Lol... Nerf's great... unless everyone else playing has kept their airsoft stuff!
22. I know. I'm already reconsidering in a big way. If I come up with another way to fund my hunger this will be kept! I have an armoury worth of airsoft gear I could part with first I guess :-(
23.
What price is this currently at? I am tempted to get something like this to go with my littlemark head and give up my quest to complete my orange stack That would mean I would have to sell 2 orange cabs (or at least one)
Its at £675, collected from Nottingham. Every time I type £675 it guts me! :-(
