1. I recreated something VERY close back in college when I had to play this for my diploma... I had a DOD FX25b evelope filter and a DOD Phaser (can't remember what FX code it was), took a bit of time to get the filter sweep set to the tempo so it runs it's course between notes but it sounded spot on. The phaser was very little in terms of sweep, just to add flavour and phasing at the same speed as the filter. Was cheap well as back then I bought the pedals for £30 each brand new
2. Great quality bass for it's price. I can highly recommend it.
3. Jon bought my Schecter Studio 6 from me. He made the long train journey to collect and due to rubbish trains spent all of 3 minutes around the bass before forcing too much money into my hand nd doing a runner... Can't say better than that (Will paypal the extra back to ya bud!). Great communication throughout the whole deal and went out of his way to make the logistics of the deal work. Hope you like the bass dude! Shep
4. The description make me think Sikth, with Britney on vocals Scary thought... Welcome to the forum! Shep
5. EBS Microbass II for the win... In my experience it does what your asking for, and the tone out of it is lovely!
6.
Grunt. 450w of solid state Ampeg into an SVT 6x10. Love it.
Great endorsment pose... But seriously cheesy
7. Oh... Blimey... In fairness to Max his questions do make sense, the Red Dragon is a Boost pedal and an Overdrive pedal, NOT a pre/power amp. As such, yes it is likely you would of been selling it again as it would of been completely unsuitable. I'm sure no offence was meant anywhere chaps... This is a finished thread no so let's leave it that way Shep
8. My first ever at the time of my first gig was... A large H&H combo on wheels... I have no idea what model and an Ibanez bass (If I recall it had something like TR Reeves written on the headstock)...? Sounded awful... but that was more to my playing... Now - EBS Fafner & EBS Neo 212 and either My Overwater Evolution or my GB Spitfire... My god how times have changed :-)
9. Bump and a drop to £55 posted.
10. Welcome to the most welcoming forum on the net
11. Schecter Studio are stunning for the money. Can't go wrong with a Squire 5 Jazz at around £279... A good set up and there a bargain... And well under budget!
12. Got mine second hand, it was a little fuzzy, bought a new valve for £17, result = perfect. If you get stuck with no joy after trying it, give Bernie a shout at GB guitars... He's the man for all things EBS. I assume you do have the drive knob set to zero ?
13. Yup, that dude is awesome... Funky as hell!
14. Bump. This awesome bit of kit is still available...
15.
Deal! Would you prefer a weekend or an evening weekday visit?
PM'd!
16. Tom made the trip up to take my MarkBass SA450 off me. Great bloke, knows his bass and a real please to talk to. While we tested the amp out I realised I prob shouldn't sell it as its bloody great! Dammit :-) Make sure you take care of her bud! Cheers Shep
17.
Any point in me carrying on with this now OG and Mark at Bass Direct have stepped in?
Depends if you hear back from the manufacturer and they offer you better terms... I however find that somewhat unlikely! Me on the list though... :-)
18. You going to pop this into the Drum centre soon for me to have a look, or over to my apartment round the corner? I'll trade you a play with my Overwater and GB....
19.
My MB cab also overhangs a little but doesn't give me any stability issues.
Cheers bud!
20. My cab is exactly the same length as the GRAMMA, but 2" deeper, meaning it would overhand by an inch at the front and back. Any users of the GRAMMA feel this would be an issue? Would I need to spend considerably more on the Great GRAMMA to ensure I had some clearance all the way around? Cheers!
21. I got a strip of Platfoam and cut it into 2 slats to sit the cab on, much like the 'feet' on the GRAMMA, just without the platform for it to sit on. I have noticed a slight reduction in vibration to the floor, and tightness of the bottom end. The vibrations and booming are still a bit more than id like so I'm thinking the step up to a GRAMMA may be in order soon.
22. It would bloody rock... If I had something to trade I'd be there like a shot... Bump!
23. I use one with an EBS Fafner. My dream is to have two and drive the Fafner at 2ohms... One day! Someone needs to buy this cab now to stop me wanting it so damn much!
24. Best cab I have ever owned... Bloody good price as well...
