Roscoe Century Custom 3006 Fretless
pantherairsoft replied to pantherairsoft's topic in Build Diaries
Yeah dude. That top is going to rock once it gets oiled. Love the oiled look compared to high gloss finishes. -
That should work. Then delete and re-attach the sheet again when updated. Maybe worth doing a test though as I'm not sure of you'll be able to navigate the spreadsheet well (never tried attaching one before).

I did some industrial stuff for a while. Synth players tend to do most of the work. I played drop D... Used an Overdrive, Chorus and Delay. That was all really. Bass sounds were a mix of clean, grinding NIN-esque and Haunting Tool-esque. It's more about the layers the instruments create as opposed to having a specific cook book of sounds.

Not a bad idea. Say an alphabetical list of power supplies with their ratings followed by an alphabetical list of effects pedals with their power draw, voltage and polarity? If enough people like the idea I'll sort a sticky out... May not be super easy to follow though, loads and loads of posts and millions of pedals out there, unless every so often I take the contents of the thread and update a master list in the 1st post... I think it's going to look awesome - especially with the black Diamondwood board. As for making awesome music - that's the plan! -
After playing one of these (fretted though!) I can say these are simply stunning, neck was so slim! I thought it was a 5'er for 10 minutes! VERY nice sound, extremely P-bass sound with the neck pickup solo'd great basses!
It's all about that neck... A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Plus the diamond wood board just suits the Fretless so much. Agree on the neck pup tone as well... -
My new Fretless... I'm treating this as my Shep Signature model on the back of my 'Local Hero' endorsement with Roscoe. It isn't really, but that's how I'm thinking of it so that's what matters... This beauty is the only reason my current Roscoe is up for sale. Spec... Century 3006 Burl Maple top & back Swamp Ash body Natural Oil finish Maple/Purpleheart/Maple neck Lined Fretless Black Diamondwood fingerboard 19mm string spacing Diamondwood nut Black hardware Roscoe Bart preamp Bart pups 1st pics in from the boys in NC... Top and back in place and body carving complete. Currently un-oiled though. When this baby arrives and my Century Std is re-housed I'll be a 2-bass family. This and my Centruy Signature 6 Fretted. Good times! Shep

I've been using my EBS HD350 & EBS Neo 212 for 18 months now. I even tried the TD650 & Fafner head but go back to the HD350. I like the head so much I own 2! And I changed my portable Wizzy cab for an EBS Neo 110. HD350 + 212 for big stuff, HD350 + 110 for home and little gigs. God I love the sound. Everytime I try something else I just go back. I'll lend you a HD350 for a few days if you want to give it a try as you only live 'up the road'. Sure, it ain't for everyone, bu it's sure as hell for me. I am 100% amp and cab GAS free.

Picked up an MXR Bass envelope filter from Mike. Easy transaction, top stuff! Thanks dude. Shep

I play my expensive stuff all the time... I played my Roscoe Century Sig last week at an open mic night... That's a seriously gucci bit of kit. No point in owning it unless it's going to get played. Soundman came up to me afterwards and said "That Warwick sounds amazing" - Oh

An EBS power supply went to Martin for re-housing. Top chap. Cheers! Shep

Sold some patch cables to this fine fellow. Easy 'transaction'. Top bloke! Shep

I would love every BC member to contribute am become the future of the forums existence... BUT, I also see it from the other side of the glass. If I owned a drum kit, and I wanted to sell said drum kit, an stumbled across/was told about an online forum where loads of drummers hung out daily and seemed to have a thriving sales section, would I join to sell the kit - hell yes, after all, I want to sell it! If I had the time to look around and like what I find then I may post and stay, otherwise id sell the kit and move on. If you had a car to sell and heard about a forum where there were loads of buyers and you didn't have to pay any sellers fees etc would you sell it there... Most likely. Would you stay and talk about cars everyday? Unlikely. All that said - I'm off to the feedback section to leave some I forgot about

The Mastotron has a buffer built in - The Mastotron is effectively a Woolley Mammoth with adjustable impedance buffer. I'm I reading correctly to say you already have a Mastotron and want another fuzz to go with it? You've tried the Mammoth already but that seems a little silly as it's the same (to my ears) as the Mastotron. I use a Mastotron for my dark fat fuzz and a Tech 21 Red Ripper for pushing it closer to distortion. The MXR Blowtorch is definitely my pick of the rest.

Just finished recording our 2nd EP yesterday - Bits of editing to do this week and then a final mix in a few weeks time. So proud of the work, big step forwards in what we do, lots of moogerfooger action in each track and guest vocals (!) on one track from this rather talented fellow - http://duke01.com/ Excited about getting this stuff done!

I bought some from a local music shop. Said shop no longer deals with Hartke so they don't do the strings either. Pack of 3 sets for about £20. They were SUPER light... far too light and although sounded mega zingy when 1st strung, that lasted about 3 hours. You get what you pay for!

I'd just accept that as part of selling online. If you are selling an expensive desirable object people tend to think you need the money and so it's worth a punt. I have the same thing on eBay... I don't think it's a 'Basschat' thing. If you don't want the 'faff' take it to Bass Direct or the Gallery and let them deal with all the stupid questions for a small cut of the selling price.
OK. Don't hold your breath though.... I will bring it to the next Nottingham bass bash if you like?
Yes please! Nottingham Bass Bash - That needs sorting!

I'd forget the Taurus idea then. The answer to everything is an OC2...

Our Helical Mind - Links in my signature below. Right up Johnny's street - so we insist on recording with him and he insists on doing it!

I'll ask him of he has any stuff laying around he can sign and throw your way. I'll rummage around the studio at the weekend and see if I can rob anything

Nice buy. If your a Pitchshifter fan you'll be happy to know that Johnny Carter is a good friend of mine (I've know him for about 10 years) and I'll be spending this Friday & Saturday in his studio recording my new EP (he's a recording engineer these days). I'll pass on your regards Johnny has a very similar Ibanez Guitar with a Matt Black finish (a finish they never offered as standard) on the studio wall.
