1. Monster board has been dismantled. Quote in for a custom dual layer board. Working on the reduced set up as we speak. Never thought I'd be in a position where I couldn't strim my set up down to 12-14 pedals!
2.
I'll take the envelope please (and will message more politely when off bus and stupid blackberry) Cheers
MXR M82 Bass Envelope Filter SOLD Bump for updated photo's
3. Groove regulator withdrawn. MXR M82 Bass Envelope Filter added!
4. Dude, if you find money in your sofa then I'll trade the bass for the sofa Never any money in mine
5.
Bump for a nice looking bass! I'd buy it if I could....but also collecting could be a bit tricky! Worth mentioning my 5 string downright (36" scale) fits in most regular guitar sized bags/cases. I remember Mo being partial to those EMG expander circuits a few years ago - but wouldn't be hard to change for something else (ACG filter could be a lot of fun with that pickup!)
I had read that the 5's are all 36" scale. That's a bit of a stretch for me, although I prefer 35" to 34". The EMG does seem to be a popular choice for Mr Clifton, although it's full on sound is pretty sweet so I can see why he chose it. ACG filter circuit does sound like a very very good option though! Bump
6. Measurements added to OP
7.
well said pete!!!! mine shouldn't be long now! sometime this week. can't wait to put my hands on my roscoe century 6!!!!!! never played one before but i had a serius gas for roscoe in the past few month so i had to buy one! wallet empty again!!!!!! shep its all your fault for showing us porn like that!
Yeah, sorry about that! These won't help then... Black Beauties going on the fretted soon as well. I don't think I'll ever need another bass (... Or maybe I could find room for a Century 6 with J pups...?)
8. Couple more pics for ya'll...
9. THIS IS SOLD PENDING PAYMENT Picked this up this week in a part ex deal. It's an interesting beast, but ultimately I am a 6 string player and could do with the cash more than the bass. Its a Mo Clifton Downright 4 string from (I believe) 1996. Clifton is better known for his uprights, but does still offer the Downright, to a very similar spec on his website and the listed price is £1300 for a build. I'm told his prices have gone up though! Spec: Mo Clifton Downright 4 headless Mahogany body with matching control cavity plate) Sucupira top (I've never heard of it either!) Very dark ebony fretboard (last few frets can be removed to reveal the truss rod!) 3 piece neck, Central maple stripe and what I 'think' are Bubinga sides Bartolini MM-stlye pup with coil tap switch 1 volume, 1 tone pot which I told has an EMG bass expander fitted to it Fitted with Schaller strap pins 34" scale String spacing at bridge: 19mm (adjustable) String spacing at nut:11mm Neck width at 24th: 62mm Neck width at 12th: 54mm Neck width at nut: 40mm Height between 12th fret and E string: 2mm (still plenty of room to adjust) This bass has pretty awesome balance and is very light - I'm told this is the norm with Cliftons as he builds all his basses with weight in mind. Tonally this bass could be improved. With the 'tone' pot up full the bass sounds massive - very much like a Stingray, in fact so much so that it could be confused for one easily, rolling the pot back however gives a slight drop in volume and a slightly more passive P-bass sound. The bass sounds great with that pot up full, but suffers from a lack of versatility, at the mo its a one hit wonder (be it a bloody good hit!) - I think adding a modern pre to this bass would make it an absolute killer! The neck has a lovely round profile and is very very easy to play. I've seen these sell in the Gallery for around £650-£700 and some more exotic ones on eBay for somewhat more. This one is old and I would consider it to be in amazing condition to say its age. It has a little buckle rash and a few scuffs and marks throughout, but only on close inspection. There is one noticeable small scuff on the bottom edge above the strap pin which I have photographed (in a position that can't be seen by the spectator!). Due to the fact that I got a good deal on this AND that I think It could benefit from a new pre AND that I do not have a case of any sort for it (so absolutely NO SHIPPING!!!) I'm going to ask [s]£575 collected[/s] SOLD This is a bloody bargain for a hand built instrument of this calibre and I think the price is reflective of travel costs etc to collect it. I won't be bothered if this doesn't sell quick and would happily keep it should I need a 4 string one day, as such I'm not accepting offers. No trades unless you have a Moog EP-2 expression pedal or two, or a 1U power conditioner (Furman?)which I'd reduce the cost accordingly for. Pics...
10. My new one is here and sooooooooooo deserves a spot on this thread! Link to loads more pics: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?s=&sho...t&p=1363810
11. And more... Diamond wood board (has a nice charcoal effect) and lovely neck: Stunning Diamond wood nut (has a lovely high gloss look as well): Headstock: Overhead shot (the grey sky made this shot difficult):
12. Its a rather grey day here in Nottingham and its chucking it down outside so the pics has a bit of glare and less than perfect exposure but hopefully they show the bass in natural light... I am absolutely over joyed with this bass, the tone is amazing - well rounded and punchy with lots of mwah. The neck is slightly rounder than my other Roscoes. My Signature fretted and old Century Standard both went very flat in the center of the neck, most noticeable from the 12th fret onwards, where as this neck remains more 'D' shaped throughout. It's very comfy and the rounding almost makes you notice the 19mm width a little less. Anyway, pics... Body shots front & back:
13. Another easy transaction - 2 pedals this time. Pretty sure this dude is making a clone of my pedalboard Cheers dude! Shep

16. Top chap! did a deal with Pete over my Bassline Universal. Really nice chap with a great taste in music. Very trustworthy. Pleasure meeting you Pete, Cheers! Shep
17. Just got home - Long day. Sooooooooo worth it. Absolutely STUNNING! Plays like butter and the sound... oh my. I've played every Roscoe in Bass Direct, and owned another 2, but this has so much growl its bed wettingly good. Amazing mwah tones and some great fretted-like bite from the bridge pup. Oddly - you'll notice how different the bass looks between Gards & Marks pics shown on this thread - The reality is, that in the flesh it doesn't really look like either! The top appears far more pale and almost flesh like. It really is stunning. I'll whip out the Canon 500D in the morning and get some snaps in natural light. 1 very happy man!
18. Thought about making one, but building a case is no easy feat... I've had a very competitive quote from flight case warehouse to this spec... I have a few other places to investigate too.
19.
Please, I don't think my wallet can take it!!!
Too late - in the for sale forum!
20. With a reluctant heart I am clearing out LOTS of pedals from my Synth style board. 21. Just spent the afternoon playing with a stripped down set up and using the Moog LPF and Freqbox in different ways. Making more of the Whammy settings as well. I think I've just made half of my pedal collection redundant! Did a full rehearsal, played all our stuff (be it some tracks sounding very different!) and didn't touch ANY of... Boss SL-20 Slicer Modded EHX Bass MicroSynth MarkBass SuperSynth Subdecay Noisebox Subdecay Echobox 3Leaf Audio Groove Regulator EBS Unichorus EBS MultiComp Tech 21 Red Ripper Basically used the Moogerfoogers, delay & fuzz! Think a clearout is coming along. Maybe even back to a single pedalboard!!!
22. That's fair
