1. C'mon folks - I'm offering a super high quality gucci bass at almost half the price, given shipping options & offering a range of items you can chuck in for part-ex... And she's still here!? Part ex stuff... TC Polytune Moogerfooger Bass or Midi Murf Moogerfooger Delay EBS Neo 212 or 210 or 110 or 112 PA amp (nothing too high spec - for a rehearsal room!) Boss LS-2
2. LOVE these basses. IMHO the single most comfy neck of any 'off the shelf' bass in the world.
3. This has been here too long. PM me an offer... I'll 'consider' all offers. Will also consider part-ex's as listed on my sale thread for my Roscoe... Will reduce the price accordingly. TC Polytune Moogerfooger Bass or Midi Murf Moogerfooger Delay EBS Neo 212 or 210 or 110 or 112 PA amp (nothing too high spec - for a rehearsal room!) 4 string Status Groove (miss mine from years ago - for old times sake!) or other moderate priced 4 string. Boss LS-2 Shep
4. Amazing fretboard! Lovely!
5. One of the pedals does (MP-201... Does every division going), bit another - Boss Slicer does not. In normal circumstances I'd chain it offend MP-201, however that's already driving an LFO @ 160 and I need the slicer @ 80 at the same time... The Slice takes tap tempo as well which is working 'fine' - but I'd still like to look at other alternatives
6. The voyager doesn't do clock division... So that's not an option
7. I sold mine for £75 years ago to a mate - Who sold it on last year for £500. Arse. TBH I thought it was good - but by no means as good as running a gated fuzz through my Moogerfoogers. I'd pay my £75 back to get one again, but no more… For that money I would buy a Moog Synth without a doubt… Slim Phatty would do me nicely,
8. I think the difference between the Jazzman, Stage I and Stage II is the pickup configuration - The Jazzman being Warwicks take on the 'Jazz Bass' sound - With added Warwickness. If I recall, the Jazzman is a slightly cheaper option as it had less Luxury options available - That said its still a damn nice bass. I've moved this to Bass Guitar Discussion so a few more Warwick-heads can hopefully fadd to the discussion.
9. You could definitely squeeze a Moogerfooger on there!
10. Talent is a subjective thing. Talent to one man is nothing to someone else. Personal preference also comes into play... People will never agree on something like this, it's horses for courses. Like me saying the Xbox is more powerful than the PS3 - its subjectional based on what criterea is important to you. It's the same as... Man A think Metallica are the most talented band in the world Man B thinks it's a racket and can't see how that 'noise' can be considered 'talent' Man C learns to play a Metallica guitar solo and his mates think he's talented as they can't do it, but Man D is a jazz musician and thinks said solos are easy so man C isn't really that talented Tal has enough of what ever talent is to of made a strong career out of it. If that's on the back of other people's success - so what!? That's no different to Stanley Clarke and his 'championing' of many inexperienced jazz musicians, until the point that they are now big names. Just because her bass work doesn't excite you or interest you does not means she's not talented - just that you identify talent in a different way. Tal's playing floats Pete's boat, and many others. Personally - I'm not a fan. I respect her in the same way I respect Mark King... They have a strong reputation and are earning a living from music they love... But neither inspire me or tick my 'my god they're talented' box (while they clearly both are!). Give me Justin Chancellor from Tool - To me that's talent, the most solid bass player in modern music (IMO) with a technical grounding that surpases most others and a rhythmic feel I can only dream of. TO ME - JC is more talented than Tal, Mark King, Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller and a host of others... But that's because he ticks my talent boxes in this rather subjectional grey area.
11.
Yeah I have an Adrenalinn and for TB303-type step filtering it's amazing. Also the LFO-controlled VCA stuff is unbelievable for the Taio Cruz/Prodigy-type cut up guitar. As has been mentioned, all the band needs to be tempo-locked via MIDI but with thebrokendoor we all are. Dan
If we get these gigs sorted later in the year I'd definitely like to have a play with the Adrenalinn… I'm finding I need to re-think our midi clock generator… The Red Sound Voyager kicks ass but only does 90-180bpm… And I need 80 now! dammit! lol
12.
I played a short set tonight with no effects whatsoever!!! Shock horror!
I did that last week with my side project - Very odd feeling
13. Hey dude! Don't fancy chucking £900 in the case and trading with my Roscoe Century 6 Fretless? Can't hurt to ask
14. Moved all the photo's to a single post - No need to post 7 photo's in 7 different posts. Shep
15. As above - Please list prices for these ASAP or have the thread removed. Cheers.
16. I've used it for as long as I can remember. Love the way it feels. I find it keeps strings sounding brighter for longer, reduces the friction in my somewhat sensitive fingers and it keeps the strings clean from sweat etc... Never tried it on the back of a neck, never seen the point. I used to use it everytime I picked up a bass, now i use it once a week or so.
17. That pick guard looks quite classy actually! Pretty cool.
18. I've closed all the duplicates (I think). Just stick to bumping this one! Cheers Shep
19.
I clicked on the Bass Gear link for Namm 2011. Talk about bass porn!
My god!!! I'd missed that!
20.
Glad they've sorted the website at long last.
It took a while. I think they've done a decent job of it though... Apparently still more content to go up so I'm sure we'll see millions more pretty basses...
21. Thanks dude! Few new ones from the Roscoe camp to wet people's appetites... LG 3006 LG 3006 LG in progress SKB in progress
22.
Two? That's just pure gluttony!! Ha ha must be good!
Yeah. One on my main board at the studio & one at home on my mini board. I have my eye on the new Moogerfooger MF-108M Cluster Flux (even though it's price has been announced at $599 in the US) but already have plans to migrate the Unichorus to the mini board and have 2 on it for some lovely lush wibblyness... Either way... It's a keeper!
23. If you like the sound of the OC2 then you need an OC2. No other octave pedal sounds like it. Fact! Even with the popularity of them then still sell on eBay under £60 which is a lot less than most other brands.
24.
And the BEF pro is out soon. Im thinking ill get one. They say $213 retail so it might be a tad cheaper. Also when using something like the boss splitter do you have to have another to join the signals back together? Im thinking of putting an octave down and fuzz in one and everything else i.e moog, distortion and chorus in the other.
Do you mean the LS2 Line Selector? If so... You just need the one pedal! If so... Make sure it's on the A+B Mix setting. Bass goes into input. One loop of pedals (say octave and fuzz) goes out of channel A send and back to channel A return. 2nd loop of pedals (the rest of them) goes out of channel B send and back to channel B return. Output goes to amp. You'll get both 'sounds' along side each other, rather than a mix of running 1 pedal into another, so the octave and fuzz won't interact with the moog, chorus etc and visa versa. You then use the channel A & B volume knobs to balance the two loop levels as you want.
25. Odd fact... Maybe relevant... Maybe not. I understand that Jimmy Haslip is a lefty and plays a lefty 6 string bass, but has it strung as if he was a lefty playing a right handed bass (C highest, B lowest - basically in reverse) - Maybe due to leaning on a righty, then moving to a lefty but realising he prefered a righty...? I'm not sure all the lefts and rights are in the correct place... I'm all confused.
