1. Similar to an earlier post, I've been wireless since the 80's with Nady, Samson Airline and now the Line6 G30 system. I've experienced no sound quality issues with the G30 which IMO offers better quality than the previous analogue systems. IME there isn't a practical advantage for the G50 over the G30. In fact I got a G30 because it uses a standard jack connection (unlike the G50) so you can replace the lead easily and cheaply if needed.
2.
Yeah, know what you mean. I know it's totally superficial, but this is probably the only sense in which I would agree with the OP. TC gear looks 21st century. Same with GK - all those blue, purple and red colour rings and stuff - pretty, pretty, wanty wanty. In comparison, got to admit that Markbass stuff looks a bit ... well ... 1975. A pity, really, as it sounds fantastic.
Got to agree with the above. I've gone from Markbass to TC and then back again. When I originally bought my Markbass head I chose the MoMark (http://www.markbass....tail.php?id=212) over the LM3 due to the aesthetics and modular design. I don't love the yellow knobs but they are easy to see in a gig situation. I really like the feature set and aesthetics of the RH450 but, for me, the Markbass sound has won over the RH450 twice now despite the amps not being as good to look at (IMO).
3. I dig in a fair bit and don't have any issue with the action or strings clanking and/or buzzing on either my S2 Classic or Streamline. I've raised the action slightly on my S2 via the saddles out of preference but the Streamline is as delivered. If you like the Status sound and graphite necks then go for it!
4. I've used the Beta on three gigs now but with very limited time during the sound check to go out front to listen to it in the overall mix. What I've found is: 1. I've tended to use it for a few numbers only and with a low gain setting. 2. It sounds good however I'll need to play around with the settings and use it more to convince myself to use it more than occasionally. This is more due to my general preference for a very clean sound rather than a negative comment about the Beta. 3. The build quality is very good and the pedal is simple to use. In summary, I think the pedal will do want I want it for so I'll be keeping it.
5.
I had the same question when I bought my g30, all I could find out was that it needs at least 200mA, I use the Harley Benton junior supply with a current doubler cable and it works a treat, I've also got the palmer version of the same power supply and that works fine too. They are 120mA per output so I'm feeding the g30 with 240mA. Matt
Thanks for the info. Line6 advised via their support forum that the G30 requires a minimum of 200mA although they also said that they would recommend providing double to cater for any drop in supply. I've gone for the Cioks Adam supply that has a regulated and isolated 9v 250mA output. Hopefully will run the G30 okay without any signal drop. I'll advise if it doesn't.
6. Does anyone know what the minimum power requirement for the G30 is? Online resource states that the supplied adaptor provides 9v Dc at 500ma but not what the minimum requirement is. I'm thinking of buying a power brick to power this and my effects to avoid the need for multiple adaptors but i can't find a definitive answer. i've registered on the Line6 forum and asked the same question but would like to know what anyone else uses.
7.
Excellent. Would be very interested to know what you think of it.
No problem, I'll report back after I've gigged it.
8. They are great. I've noticed that once the battery indicator drops to two green bars it seems to go to red very quickly so I put new batteries in for every gig so not to worry about keeping an eye on this. I've used mine regularly for 2-3 years and wouldn't have any hesitation in buying another if it packed in for any reason, especially at the price they are now.
9.
£105 including shipping from Prymaxe, £147 including shipping from Thomann. Prymaxe will take quite a bit longer, I imagine. Anyone had anything from Prymaxe? How long did it take to arrive?
I ordered a Beta from Prymaxe on Saturday and it arrived today! The cost was £94 including shipping (with the TONE15 promotion code) so its currently a significant saving on UK retail prices and Thomann. Tried it tonight at home and it sounds good but I'll not be able to judge it properly until I've gigged with it at volume. Next gig is Saturday so I'm looking forward to giving it a proper run out then.
10. Aargh........Timing!. I was thinking about ordering a white S2 classic 4 months ago but due to the cost I went for a Streamline instead. That's a really nice bass. GLWTS.

12. One final price drop to shift this as it's not getting played.
13.
Thanks Gaz, so does it just settle down into one of the blue strips of light flitting back and forth across the display it you are in regular mode? Turn around and have a look please :-)
I use the regular tuning mode as per the first option on the video in the earlier post which has a static green line and moving blue line which disappears when you are bang on the note. The other two are strobe type modes that were too 'busy' for my taste.
14. I've been using one for 4-5 months. It's effective, easy to see and use so can't fault it. It's always on when you are playing and there are different display modes to choose from. I don't think it looks cheesy at all (IMO) but, to be fair, it's behind me so I'm not looking at it all of the time. ;-)
15.
Choosing a bass goes pretty much in this order: 1. Looks. If I don't like how it looks I would never even think about trying it out. 2. Playability/comfort. If I like the way it looks I'll pick it up and try it out unplugged. Only once I'm happy that I like the feel will I get around to trying it through an amp. 3. Sound. TBH the only real test of this is through my rig with my band in a rehearsal or gig situation. No matter what it sounds like in the shop, this is the only real way to know if the sound is right for me. 4. Price. Only really an issue if it's more than I can afford.
This^
16. Suggest you try contacting Mark at www.bassdirect.co.uk if you haven't done do already.
17. Price drop bump - now £445 (I don't seem to be able to reduce the Price or Trade Value figure for some reason )
18. Overwater Aspiration Deluxe 5 string bass, Price dropped to £375 (sorry, no trades) This bass has only been gigged twice and is in immaculate condition. I've owned it since new but it's up for sale as it's not getting used and I've decided to stick to 4 strings. Please note the price does not include a hard case or gig bag (I haven't got a spare one to include in the sale) so collection from Newcastle area would be preferred however I'm willing to travel a reasonable distance to meet up with a buyer. 19.
Somebody got a bargain beauty on the way by the looks of it, cracking bass at an excellent price! The boy Gaz may regret letting that one go, unless of course there is an incoming Status......
Sorry to see it go Johna as its a really good bass, but it had to be done to help fund the incoming arrival....only 14 weeks to go.
