I stopped using a Class 3B laser several years ago for this reason. In smaller venues it's very difficult to operate these in accordance with the safety guidelines and any public liability insurance you may have is unlikely to cover you if you can't provide evidence that you have operated it in accordance with the safety guidelines.

Wireless Guitar Systems & Wireless Ears?

Haha, no worries.😊 -
Wireless Guitar Systems & Wireless Ears?
gazhowe replied to AlexDelores's topic in Accessories and Misc
On reflection and based on my own experience I should have said: "Provided that you aren't using the same frequency for both systems in theory you should be fine. In reality, a wireless IEM system is more likely to have issues due to either the quality of system used or environment (i.e. other devices competing for the same frequency band)." 😉 -
Wireless Guitar Systems & Wireless Ears?
gazhowe replied to AlexDelores's topic in Accessories and Misc
I'm using a Sennheiser EW-D guitar wireless system and a Sennheiser XSW IEM wireless system. The guitar wireless receiver and IEM transmitter are housed next to each other in the same 2U rack. I've no experience with AKG equipment. Provided that you aren't using the same frequency for both systems you should be fine. Any performance issues will more likely to due to the quality of system you use and/or environment (i.e. other devices competing for the same frequency band). Do you have any particular concerns or questions about using both types of system together? -

I've just bought a MXR pedal from Lee. It arrived when promised and was well packaged. Great comms throughout made this an easy transaction. If you are considering buying from Lee you can do so with confidence.

Really enjoyed listening to those. Both tracks sound great. 😎

Another vote for Boss Waza Air Bass. You can connect your bass and phone or iPad wirelessly. Great sound straight out of the box and so convenient. https://www.boss.info/global/products/waza-air_bass/ -

Do you multiple cabs from the same company, what do you have & why?
gazhowe replied to jazzyvee's topic in Amps and Cabs
I have two Bergantino cabs, an AE410 and an NXT212. I don't need multiple rigs but I've been so impressed with Bergantino since buying the AE410 then a B|Amp I bought a NXT212 when they came out as I was curious about trying a 212. I'd happily gig with either cab but the NXT212 is my part of my gig rig. Since I've started using iem's (with backline) for gigs and a Boss WAZA Air for home practice I can't envisage a situation where I'd need two cabs again, although it's currently nice to have them -

We use a couple of Behringer C2 condenser mics on a small stand positioned on top of one of our subs and pointed at the audience. Possibly not the best placement but it works well enough to provide an ambient feed to the three of use that use IEM's. They are pretty inexpensive (approx £42 for a pair of C2's on Amazon).

@EBS_freak what are your thoughts on the Sennheiser G4 v Mipro MI-58, in particular sound quality and likelihood of dropouts and interference? I'm sure I read somewhere that Sennheiser will soon no longer support the G4. Unless they bring out a iem version of the EWD product there appears to be either the XSW (which I have) and their new (very expensive) iem system if buying a Sennheiser digital system. If I decide to move on from the XSW it's probably going to be a choice between the G4 and Mipro.
-
What frequency band was your XSW system? I'm asking as I have an XSW wireless and just wondering if the dropout issue could be in part due to this. BTW I have experienced some drop outs and interference with my band E unit.

The Damned at NX Newcastle on Wednesday night. My favourite line up (Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Paul Gray, Rat Scabies) playing a set largely of songs from my favourite Damned albums (The Black Album. Machine Gun Etiquette, Strawberries). The sound wasn't great but enjoyed the show.
-
If I recall correctly, they were definitely a step up from the UE6 in terms of definition but less than I expected. They weren't bad, but I found the A4s to provide better separation between different instruments when listening to the same sound source.
-
I've got the A4s. I demoed them v UE6's and UE11's before buying. Fit and sound quality are both excellent as you would expect. They have plenty of bottom end headroom but the low end is certainly not overpowering. The learning curve for me has been to lower the volume of my backline and apply a high pass filter to my bass in my IEM's. I'm happy with the results so far but feel that I can improve the sound of my bass in my IEM's with a little more experimenting, rather than any issue with the A4s.
